- Hey everybody, Ryan (the guitar player) here. Holy moly. 1 million is a very large number... We filmed this little behind the scenes a couple years ago and thought releasing it on our "million subs" week might be fun and fitting. Hope you don't mind it being slightly outdated. OK, before I start tearing up... Scary Pockets is a platform for all the amazing musicians and singers in LA (and those passing through). This is their channel and their band. From the bottom of our hearts, Jack and I want to thank them for agreeing to appear in these videos with our goofy faces, and for contributing their genius to these arrangements. There are a lot of bands on UA-cam that are equally talented. What you guys have here is something special. I think it is rooted in your friendship. It expands into your love of music and your obvious enthusiasm for what you are doing. I can tell how good something is with the volume off. Just by the expression on your faces. The last video I watched with Ryan's fantastic solo ended with him standing there with a coy grin and Jack standing there slump shouldered in amazement. That tells you all you need to know about Scary Pockets. Thanks guys

Personally, I'd like to thank Scary Pockets for their rotating cast of brilliant musicians! You've introduced me to many artists that I now follow. The excellent cover of Olivia Rodrigo's "deja vu" introduced me to Clyde and Gracie Lawrence, whose band quickly become one of my favorites. I bought meet-and-greet VIP tickets to see Lawrence when they came through Seattle earlier this year, and I plan to see them every time they return. In turn, one of their videos introduced me to Veronica Stewart-Frommer of Melt, and I now have tickets to see them next month. This is the power of UA-cam and the Internet to bypass the boring, monopolistic record labels (wow, I sound like Jon Bellion!), and Scary Pockets is one of the major driving forces here!

I'm new to you guys. I'm binging on your vids and loving it. I haven't been this excited to discover a band since The New Mastersounds in 2008. I also found them on UA-cam. It's so thrilling to come across a band who share the exact same taste and musical sensibilities as me. We're cut from the same cloth.
Anyway, I'm really lucky because I see you'll be in my little town of NYC next month on the 19th. You're playing my favorite place to see a show, Irving Plaza, and I can't wait.

I love this!!! Discovered Scary Pockets with the Wonderwall release...don't worry I don't go into Guitar Center and play the song myself. Even the songs you all cover that don't hit me as strongly are still better than a lot of the music out there and the songs that do hit perfectly are some of the best. I'm constantly introducing new people to the band and my daughters love you all too! I would love to see more of these behind the scenes documentary videos in the future, perhaps at big milestones going forward. Maybe specialize them to cover the production crew, social media, and individual instruments, such as all the bass players that have been part of Pockets. Hope that Mario's reference to being 85 and still singing with the band comes true. Cannot wait to see you all reach 2M subs!
