    I loved every minute! My daughter has food allergies and it has been a challenge for me to learn how to navigate while also working on myself to normalize things for her and not bring my anxieties on her (she’s 21 months, also Indian). I’d love for her to get to know you, this was phenomenal!

    great message. reminds me of my walks 40 years ago with my grandfather to his village vegetable market in India early in the morning to pick up fresh produce for the day's meals. still remember his lessons on picking the best okra. nothing like fresh, unprocessed foods.

    This is very timely. The FDA is "temporarily" relaxing food labeling laws to give food manufacturers more flexibility during the pandemic: they can now make minor changes in ingredients without changing the label. The policy says substituted ingredients "should" (not "are required to," just "should") cause no adverse health effect (allergies, etc.). There are some problems with this. According to the FDA. soybean oil is safe for people with a soy allergy; however, many people with soy allergy do react to it. Will manufacturers be able to substitute soybean oil without listing it as an ingredient? What about people with allergies other than the top 8? I'm allergic to corn, and found it hard enough to keep track of the many corn derivatives found in American food. (The stuff is nearly ubiquitous.) Now I can't even trust food labels.

    I am suffering from anaphylaxis that occurs after eating certain foods.The main food items which cause me urticaria are Maggi noodles,KFC chicken,pizza,chilli chicken,gobi manjurian,parathas.Urticaria occurs to me a number of times and I can't even figure out which food causes me urticaria.I have done food panel prick test for all commonly available foods and the result is negative for all foods.Until today I can't find out which food causes me urticaria and it will help if someone guide me find which food ingredient is responsible for urticaria.Mine is not chronic and fade away in 2 or 3 hours.Any kind of recommendations and suggestions are highly appreciated.Thanks in advance.Cheers !!!

      Man, it could be monosodium glutamate allergy. It`s usually in all ready-to-eat things, like pizza, KFC chicken, and noodles. You should take a look and see if the symptoms you have are similar to the ones presented by eating it. Have a nice day :)

    some believe that antibiotics can cause food allergies and my multiple food allergies began after a several month long course of antibiotics to cure acne in my 20s. Never had food allergies before that. Antibiotics which are over-used in our society ruins the lining of our guts making it difficult to break down proteins in food. That's not the cause of food allergies for everyone but for many it is, so it's something to keep mind.

    ugh she believes in the pharmaceutical model? ie. benadryl

    • @SoniaHunt
      @SoniaHunt 9 років тому +1

      +project10bball If you listened to my talk, I discuss that I am about homeopathy, not western medicines. But each person needs to utilize what will be right for them - that is their choice.

    • @project10bball
      @project10bball 9 років тому

      +Sonia Hunt so you wouldnt take benadryl any longer i guess? Pharmaceutical model is arguably based just on suppressing our symptoms

    • @SoniaHunt
      @SoniaHunt 9 років тому +2

      +project10bball As I said, each individual needs to do what is right for them. If you yourself suffer from severe food allergies, than it is your choice on what works - whether that is Benedryl or Ayurvedic medicine or nothing at all.
