Video Description
This is a video tutorial overview of the Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS). WINS servers are used to help network clients resolve NetBIOS names to IP addresses.
All I needed to know about WINS in under 6 mins! Thanks, it was just what I needed.
that was the idea... thanks for the feedback!
Awesome refresher. Love how you did it so quick and concise. thank you.
I try to make the videos as short and concise as possible. No one has time for hour long videos.

thanks for that feedback!
Excellent tutorial!
glad this was helpful.
i have a mxq android box. would it be ok if i change WINS server?
if a device supports WINS, best to have a central WINS server or two and have all clients point to both of them for redundancy. Understanding my comments are in 2023... WINS is not really used as much any more. I'd recommend moving away from WINS at this point.
Good one. Thanks
Glad it was helpful 👍
lol I had to play this video at .5 speed.
Yea, I get it. I try to keep these videos to the point and as short as possible. Will slow down in the future.
I have a name on my Mac on the netbio I never put, it’s normal or it’s a hack?
You may have turned on file sharing in the past. If you machine isn’t part of a network or you share files on a network, you can disable those settings.
Jorge Mederos thanks 🙏🏼
NETBIOS settings are still around but unlikely depended on at this point.
thanks alot!
Awesome, glad this helped.
Why is the sound so very very soft.
Seems ok on this side 🤷♂️
Why are you talking so fast?
For shorter length videos 😂
Dude! Ur too fast.. U gotta slow down.
Yea, sorry about that. use .5 in the speed LOL
