Phenomenal entertainer and musician. I had the pleasure of seeing Jimmy Castor perform several times at the Apollo Theatre, NYC during the late 1960's and 1970's. His performances were always extraordinary. Truly one of the greatest musicians, on the planet!!!!!
Seen JCB in DC in 1975. Parliament Funkadelic was the headliner with Rare Earth and Betty Davis on New Years Eve. Jimmy Castor Bunch rocked the Capital Centre. Awesome performer and the band was Tight as Sh_t... I'm hearing it now! I will never forget that show.
i spent almost 50 years trying to find this song, because i never knew the name. i was finally able to wring from my big brother the name of "the troglodyte". from there, i was able to find this classic.
Listening to Supersound in HD offline but this was the song that was on some label-made Soul compilation that hooked me. For us whitewashed folk in small cities growing up we never heard this sort of fun(k) until we left for lack of flavor. Besides JC, the first artists that caught my attention and captured my admiration were Ohio Players, Parliament, early Kool & The Gang, and Jimmy Castor.
@@ami2evil I still I'm hot my husband tells me well he loves me after 40 years Lol at the time of this song he was tell me the same thing I was 14 years old

So basically Ice Cube sampled Jimmy's deep Bass vocals on The Song friday 😂.
Bass wasn't loud enough...
But the drummer is awesome!
