Kay I just wanna say that I've watched your animatics for years now, and now I'm looking back as I've gotten way more involved with art- when looking for tutorials and simple tips for getting into animation, this was the first one that made the process seem way more chill and less daunting to start- I'm actually super hyped to wing it, rather than scared to get going on new projects, so I want to thank you so so much. It was exactly what I needed TvT

Alternatively, make a (usually, but you can use other colors if it will help your character stand out more) white outline (sometimes with a soft edge so it’s not as harsh having to look at if you’d like) around the character, blur out everything else, make the other characters not very visually appealing (not bad looking, just generic) and have your main character _be_ visually interesting, even better if you can do two or three of these to really make your character stand out!

oof the fact that I use an iPad Pro for drawing- I just use some art program and transfer my frames to Kinemaster... you can probably tell that I’m very unprofessional. :)
No worries, I used an android tablet and a cheap stylus (and by cheap, I mean literally free, it was given as an advertisement for Hell drinks) when I first started digital art, and I actually learned quite a few things. Lots professionals use an iPad, but android isn't really that great for drawing. I use a drawing tablet now, but you get what I mean.
No worries, you can still make good animations/animatics like that! I also do the same to be honest,

Tip: she mentioned somewhere in the video to use different camera views, my photography class definitely helped. They taught me different camera angles to grab to viewer's attention, so you can look up some of the camera angles and pans and stuff for reference

RANT BECAUSE i've been thinking about this for a while and need to write it out somewhere:
i was so amazed when i started seeing more and more people make animatics. I feel it was more animation memes before but the style of them often wasn't really what i wanted to make. I've loved animation for a long time and really wanted to learn it and make my own project's, but it was always so time consuming that i lost interest in new ideas the few times i tried after barely even starting anything most of the time. I also knew that most of my ideas where too complicated and that i probably wouldn't be able to make them. And i also felt that if i was going to make something, it had to look really good and polished and the animation had to be more complicated or people would think i was just being lazy. But seeing how expressive animatics can actually be has made me want to try and make my own because they are so much more possible to do. I love how you don't have to make everything super complicated and perfect in order to make something really expressive that also looks so cool. So many times i've been listening to songs and imagined stories for them and now i finally know how to actually make something of it. And like, there is even tutorials for it! This is such a cool medium with so many possibilities and i love it and love seeing all the stuff people make, it's so inspirational.

Honestly I felt the same way about my art until about a year ago. I just practiced and picked up on other artist's styles and made my own art style. So just keep practicing and you will create a style that you love!💜 wishing you the best of luck and you got this!
Same art style? Huh? Dude, develop your own. :) You can totally take inspiration and have art idols but wanting an artists EXACT art style isnt good.
