    Thank You so much for sharing this video! I was going to turbo my 1.3, but now i will do the swap as soon as I find an engine.
    You saved me a bunch of money and time, because I probably wouldn't have been happy with the turbo.

    • @FabbinAdventures
      @FabbinAdventures  3 роки тому +2

      Yeah especially if you want to use it in cold weather yoi would not like it.
      This 16v was so worth it for me, i try and steer people away from the turbo and towards the swap especially if they are not very mechanically inclined or dont know anything about carburatord or jetting, or if they want to use it in cold weather!
      I wish i would have done the swap in the first place.....now i know...

      Hard to say man, the turbo helped the 1.3L, but the 1.6 16v was a way better mod, wish i woulda did the 16v instead of that damn turbo. All around the 16v was better!

    Nice video. You lucky to have gotten a ecm that goes with the motor. I have done a similar swop on my SJ410, with a g13bb duel coil motor. I have used parts of a G16ba for mine as it was a 45deg slanted motor. Just a note on the air filter.. why not consider a Donaldson filter, it fits on the mudguard. should be able to get better airflow and be less prone to clogging up like the cone filter..

      I got the 1.6 8v motor. Definitely an increase in power. Add a 38 weber, headers, cam and upgraded ignition with a regeared tcase and you'll be impressed with the increase in power and torque. Only thing that gets me about the 16v is that if the timing belt goes, so does the motor. The 8v has more low end grunt, but the 16 has great fuel efficiency and response.

      Good question, probably be awesome if the engine was built for it. I wont turbo again unless the engine is built for it.
      Im afraid that combination of carb and turbo on my 1.3 washed the cylinders and killed the rings, the engine sure went down hill fast after i turboed it.

      @20tea Рік тому +1

      @Fabbin Adventures I personally wouldn't run the tbi, there's some kits that would use a side draft carb with a turbo. Earlier, I was going to try a blow through carb turbo setup with a weber 38, but I'm now interested in trying it with the Sniper EFI as it adjusts for turbo setups.

      I have never done a 2.0 swap, but a buddy of mine did a 2.3. He said the power is awesome, but thinks the extra power is gonna break stuff he sold parts off his 2.3 donor and made all his money back.
      I think the 16v swap would be easier and cheaper especially if your buying a kit.
      Depends on what you are gonna use it for. Trails i would think the 16v would be fine, trails and hwy the 16v or the 2.0 would be fine, that extra 30hp of the 2.0 would sure make a difference!
