You won.t put 6 by the Glasgow rangers.. you should be winning games because of the money and players on board… we are building a young team… after eleven players departed… so we will see.. and Celtic must have some wage bill… and you have made some big over 7 million pound buys… something we cannot match.. you won.t be getting the space Aberdeen gave you be sure… come on the famous

Wage bills were very similar for both clubs ( Gers were actually slightly higher, for few seasons) until Gers started cutting a couple of summers ago, said on radio the other night Gers had lowered the wages by £8m in 2 seasons, so there is a gap now. Although Celtic have a lot higher revenue / profit , so higher wages not big problem long term, as it's not close to the red line ( what UEFA advise) of 70% of turnover. Selling players is the most important factor, yes champions League helps.
But look at Rangers, you actually made more money on your european run, than you did the time you won the league & qualified for the champions league ( not sure of sales that year).
So this idea that the champions league is the only way to be able to compete is not strictly true, "Recruitment" is the biggest money earner .

The revenue difference for the last couple of seasons has been £40M approx.
The difference in prize money between the 2 Glasgow clubs the past 2 seasons has been £20M approx.
So the champions league does help, it doesnt count for all of it because player sales does the rest.
It simply comes down to Champs league money and player sales money.
In future seasons we won't have automatic group stage football, so champions league money is not guarenteed.
The financial gap will close again and it will be another cycle between the 2.

Young team? Lol 😂 Butland, tav Balgoun all over 30. Cerny, Souttar, Dessers, Lawrence 30 or pushing it. Others are all over 20 not teenagers! Virtually all teams have 3 or 4 21/22yos that's normal nothing unusual. What's unusual is having so many 30ish 30+ players in a team supposedly aiming to win a title. If you look at Any title challenger teams in leagues all over the world it's average of 25. A balance of some young players under 25 and 25 to 29 with maybe 1 or 2 over 30 some none. It's mid to low end of the table teams or lower that have half a team of over 30s or around 30ish.
