Just wanted to say that I really appreciate how you take the time to explain how to do the stitches and /where/ to put them. As someone who is still pretty new to crochet I still get confused sometimes as to where I should be placing my stitches, but your instructions are very easy to follow. ❤️
This yarn looks so soft and lust, I'd love nothing more than to work with it, every time I get the opportunity to go to my Michaels store they don't have any caron cakes AT ALL. Looks like beautiful yarn to work with.
Mickey.... U are the best... I've done a few with your tutorial guide and was very happy with everyone. Loved how u do the demo. Fantastic.this particular is my favourite. Thanks
Hi Mikey, thanks for the lesson, you explain the stitches so clearly. I love the Caron wool but here in Australia it is expensive so I'm using something similar called "Cakes", Caron's colours are much more impressive. Anne, Melbourne Australia
Hi, Made this rectangular aghan and it came out beautifully. Now my question is - would you have a crochet pattern for an oval granny afghan or a yarn table runner?
That skip 3, crochet into 4th chain, sure makes for a huge hole. I'm wondering if skip 2, crochet into 3rd chain, would still work... not liking those huge holes
I'm not sure, but if it's right at the beginning of the pattern the 3 chains you skip counts as one of the 3 dc in the 1st shell..(its like when you're working in rows of dc. you dc in each st to end of row, ch 3, turn (ch 3 counts as 1dc). Since this pattern has 3dc going into the same stitch to make a shell you'd ch 3, dc in 4th ch from hook (counts as 2 dc). It is not a complete shell until you finish crocheting shells around your starting chain. You end up at that beginning ch3 and dc. you dc into the same st the dc is in. then you slip stitch into the 3rd chain of the beginning ch3. (feels like you're crossing past the beginning ch3 to add a dc in that st but it's not) Now that awkward ch3, dc in 4th st has become a 3dc shell and you're ready for round 2!
Is there any way you can do a basic tutorial on how to finish a project like this. I’m new to crochet and I follow this tutorial and now have a very nice Afghan but once I finished my last round I have no clue how to finish it off 😢
That could work... sometimes the ch3 though acts as a buffer to prevent it from not sitting down right. Give it a co go for a few rounds and make that determination.
I think the pattern is called Modern Granny.... it’s got smaller spaces. I love it!!! It’s one of Mikey’s patterns just a little newer I think. And it uses a 4 weight yarn but the weight of the yarn makes no difference at all.
You are the professor of crocheting! Love it! Tutorials are bomb

To finish afghan do you just finish by doing the slip stich into the third chain and pulling up yarn a sewing in your ends?
in the beginning do you do three double crochet in the fourth or fifth thank you.

I want to make a scarf like this but I'm not sure what measurements I need for it.
HELP! What happens when you attached one side and you get to the corner? Do you slip stitch into the corner stitches?
Hello I was wondering could you do 2 chains on the corners instead of the 3 to make the spaces smaller ??????

could you use Caron big cakes to make this and how many cakes would it take?
I'm starting one tomorrow using Caron Big Cakes. The size depends on the numbers of cakes you reqr
