I been listening to Cirith since i was 18 now im 55, still listening. And dude yes has a very cool voice and can still make it sound good today. But with how much electronics. They most definitely got a sound all their own which is very unique. And that along with wtf wrote the lyrics to these songs and put them to this type of music. Very talented and impressive. Wow !!
I just stumbled on to this video. A lot of people don’t know that in the late 70s and early 80s , Ventura county had a a lot of good heavy bands . I was in a couple of them and we did gigs on the same bill as these guys. I knew all of them . Went to hang out with Jerry a couple of times at his converted garage bedroom in his parents house( we were all very young then). Robbie was ( and I’m sure still is ) a friendly guy. Played basketball with Tim a few times . I’ve got to hand it to them. They never gave up. I got married and got out of the metal game in the mid 80s . When I heard what happened to Jerry it made me sad.

Seems like nobody got it back then. I was blasting Cirith Ungol, Death and Possessed in The early 80's. Everyone else was blasting quiet riot, Journey, and triumph.
my friends i were there to see pandemonium. and ciruth ungol was the opener....didnt know who they were . but after seeing them had to buy there record.....been a fan of there first record forever.......
Pandemonium started in the LA club circuit by supporting Cirith Ungol in 1981... and in 1984 it was the other way around. That's interesting and also really weird, especially while comparing 'Heavy Metal Soldiers' to 'King Of The Dead'. Somebody at Metal Blade must have really hated Cirith Ungol :D
@@staalhard666 Pandemonium came out of Alaska originally; I remember reading that. I think it was even mentioned in a Metal Blade magazine ad for their album at the time.
Just came across this and it's so cool! Just watched the 2018 show on Rockpalast. Saw them at a Battle of the Bands near Wagon Wheel in Oxnard around 1983 or so. They frickin shredded the place! Best to all!
Such an incredible band. Back in the early 80s none of my people got it. So happy to see them make such an incredible comeback and get the respect they deserve from the young kids. Always in rotation on my turntable. 🔥💀🔥

Me too I was 9 and still thought the heaviest band was Twisted Sister then in 90 or 91 I seen Paradise Lost at Record and Tape traders and bought the cassette True Metal 😈

Didn`t have the chance to see them in their early days. It`s a bloody long way from Europe to the US. But with videos like that I can dream I was there!
I didn't have a chance to see them back then either, but I've got my ticket to see them tomorrow! They've played Europe recently, and I'm sure they will return, so....
I was in another local band in Ventura cali in the late 70s and 80s. We did a couple of gigs together. They were unique and we were not. Tims voice is still in great shape. I loaned my Rickenbaker to the bass player once and I loved how it made them sound, it reminded me of Rush.

This is a alltimes great band
i still play their records today, after 4 decades… maybe one of the best heavy bands of all times, sadly very underestimated.
Can't believe this shit is 4 decades old now. And how did I never hear about this band back in the day?

CIRITH UNGOL = Black Sabbath + Rush...... also one of the coolest metal vocalists
I’d say more Manowar meets rush, but they’re fucking awesome for sure

Jim Barazza is such an underrated guitarist.. Totally shreds man. \m/
But this is Jerry Fogle, who was an awesome guitarist all the same.
not to say that Jim Barazza isn't awesome
I thought almost the contrary, this are no shred solos jeje is not really fast or clean, but have charm

Cirith Ungol isn't a Doom band. They are epic Metal.Nearly all their 'Doom' is derived from classical music.
Dale Fogle !!!!!!
Jerry Fogle?
