Do not be despondent dear sister in Christ! Everything that we see and experience in life is either willed or allowed by God and are opportunities to show God our love and fidelity. So if you see something sinful you can make reparation or do penance and if possible, correct the sinner and definitely pray for them. If you see something sacrilegious you can make reparation and pray and rebuke if possible. If you are tempted it is an opportunity to show and practice your love for God by asking for the Graces to resist. These are all opportunities to get you to Heaven where you will no longer be troubled by these Crosses! Thank Jesus for every experience you have-good or “bad” because Jesus will use ALL for GOOD! I make the sign of the cross in my teen's forehead and bless him every morning before he leaves for school. I ask the Lord to keep him safe and for the angels to guard and protect him and bring him home to me safely. I have been doing it for so many years now and I'm kind of surprised that he still lets me do it at 15.

Not all, but many American Protestant congregations hand out comic books written by a man named Jack Chick to the children in Sunday school classes. Full of outrageous lies and slander about the Catholic Church. Chick claimed his accusations were based on "authoritative" information from a former Jesuit, who no one has ever been able to track down, prove attended seminary or received Holy Orders. So maybe your spouse developed a lifelong dread of Catholic beliefs and practices from one of those comic books. Thank you. I really needed to hear this. Please pray for me. I feel like I am being crushed under my heavy heavy cross. I lost everyone and still am being attacked in what few things are left in my life. I was made to feel horrible by the new head of my church saying everyone complains about my PTSD service dog. Rosa Mystica is so well behaved. The prior Church head and Priests never had one complaint in over 10 years. My Disability monthly check has stopped from having not received my change of address. The prior head of the church allowed me to park my car there till I could receive my check to afford insurance and it was towed away yesterday. I no longer feel I can go to my church across the street. I have no strength without my Lord..and not ow feel abandoned By God BV e can because he can allowed this. I live in a constant state of terror be all alone and I have no more fight nor strength. Only the Eucharist carried me through each day.

By crying out "Who shall deliver me from this body of death?" Paul was giving us a hint. For as long as we don't enjoy God our Life, instead experiencing being but these bodies, we are suffering the cross of death. And it is God suffering it as each and every one of us. In Mexico we make the sign of the cross in two parts. 1) Persignarse: "Por la señal de la Santa Cruz" ("By the sign of the Holy Cross" - Making a small cross on our foreheads). "De nuestros enemigos," ("From our enemies," -Making a small cross on our lips). "líbranos Señor Dios Nuestro" ("free us Lord Our God" - Making a small cross on our chest). 2) Santiguarse: "En el nombre del Padre y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo. Amén" Sealing the sign of the cross with a kiss as we said "Amén". Do you happen to know the origin of why we have two parts? For the first part (persignarse) we made a small cross with our fingers by bending the index finger, and touching it with the thumb. The three remaining fingers (middle through pinky) remain straight together. For the second part (santiguarse), the position of our hand is flat, just as you mentioned. I make the sign of the cross in my teen's forehead and bless him every morning before he leaves for school. I ask the Lord to keep him safe and for the angels to guard and protect him and bring him home to me safely. I have been doing it for so many years now and I'm kind of surprised that he still lets me do it at 15.

Agree Father about the spiritual meaning of the CROSS OF JESUS CHRIST and the implications of making the sign on us, our children, our houses and our belongings. It is surely a powerful protection, an invisible sword disliked profoundly by the enemies of God.

Not all, but many American Protestant congregations hand out comic books written by a man named Jack Chick to the children in Sunday school classes. Full of outrageous lies and slander about the Catholic Church. Chick claimed his accusations were based on "authoritative" information from a former Jesuit, who no one has ever been able to track down, prove attended seminary or received Holy Orders. So maybe your spouse developed a lifelong dread of Catholic beliefs and practices from one of those comic books. You could always mention the name "Jack Chick" and patiently listen to whatever reaction you get. And then gently refute any errors. 😇 Jimmy Akin posted an article, "Meet Jack Chick", on his website.

Thank you. I really needed to hear this. Please pray for me. I feel like I am being crushed under my heavy heavy cross. I lost everyone and still am being attacked in what few things are left in my life. I was made to feel horrible by the new head of my church saying everyone complains about my PTSD service dog. Rosa Mystica is so well behaved. The prior Church head and Priests never had one complaint in over 10 years. My Disability monthly check has stopped from having not received my change of address. The prior head of the church allowed me to park my car there till I could receive my check to afford insurance and it was towed away yesterday. I no longer feel I can go to my church across the street. I have no strength without my Lord..and not ow feel abandoned By God BV e can because he can allowed this. I live in a constant state of terror be all alone and I have no more fight nor strength.
Only the Eucharist carried me through each day.

Hello Father, thank you for this video. I have a question. I hope you get a chance to read this message. In Mexico we make the sign of the cross in two parts.
1) Persignarse: "Por la señal de la Santa Cruz" ("By the sign of the Holy Cross" - Making a small cross on our foreheads). "De nuestros enemigos," ("From our enemies," -Making a small cross on our lips). "líbranos Señor Dios Nuestro" ("free us Lord Our God" - Making a small cross on our chest).
2) Santiguarse: "En el nombre del Padre y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo. Amén" Sealing the sign of the cross with a kiss as we said "Amén".
Do you happen to know the origin of why we have two parts? For the first part (persignarse) we made a small cross with our fingers by bending the index finger, and touching it with the thumb. The three remaining fingers (middle through pinky) remain straight together. For the second part (santiguarse), the position of our hand is flat, just as you mentioned.

I have heard that this comes from the testimony of exorcists. Ecc. latin is the universal language of the Catholic Church and so naturally it would be hated by all demons. There may have been some saints that speak on this issue as well, I can't recall.
I don't know about the chanting. However, Satan despises Latin because it is a *sacred language*. The sacred languages are Latin, Greek and Hebrew. They earned this title because these are the language which hung from Jesus's cross saying "Jesus, King of the Jews".

Literal translation from Latin is Sanctified Spirit. Holy is from german and so is Ghost. If we use a german word for Holy, so should Ghost also be.

The thumb index and middle finger together symbolize the Trinity, the ring and pinky signify the two Natures of Christ - Divine and human. That’s the way Byzantine Rite signs the Cross, and can be used in Latin Rite as well. It reminds me of what I believe.
I’m confused- I thought the druids were wiped out on Inis Mona (Anglesey) by the Romans in retaliation for the sacking by Boudicca of Camulodunum (Colchester) which was a long time before the arrival of Christianity in the British Isles. I find it. Sad that after listening to these edifying sermons, people's only response is to defend worldly symbols. If they were honest, this should be an eye opener as to just how worldly they really are. Who cares about earthly symbols...They should have no importance for you. The fact that people are getting annoyed about Fr. Criticizing a peace sign is very significant.

Saint Peter, in humility, died on a cross that was inverted. Today the inverted cross has other meanings. Is it used by Satanists to represent something opposing Christianity and the cross - I guess you would need to participate in a satanic ritual to verify this? Just as the rainbow is used for LGBT now though it was not the original representation for a rainbow? Also, I do not like the peace symbol because hippies and drug users used it to promote their ideas, so, though it may mean other things it is something I do not want to promote because of the drug connotations and immoral "free love" (another ideal hippies perverted) that it represents. Just as, the swastika represented other ideas but Hitler made it infamous and now those who use this symbol are assumed to associate themselves with Hitler's ideals.

Back then it must have been almost impossible to find a way of learning latin. I cannot even find definitions for some of the latin words now days.

Latin is a Language, a Language Sanctified by the Church and God. Why? God uses eternal Languages such as Latin and Church Slavonic. These two languages are set in stone, it is not like French that can be changed. The church is the only institution in the World using Latin daily. The devil hates God and this Language Sanctified by the Holy Church.
