- A Local radio station - Salford City Radio - Needed CD Players repairing. The main problem on 3 of them was the drawer not opening or closing - the cause - presenter misuse!
Those belts are the major problems on almost 90 % of CD readers ! Good job/
Really enjoyed this one Steve. Especially as I've been in Denon hell recently repairing my CD changer. Those look like very nice decks so hopefully you can repair the broken ones. Regards Graham
The belts have been ordered - we will see. You won’t have treated your CD’s as bad as the presenters of a radio station treat them…..
The Drive Belts Can Slip I Take Them Out And Boil Them Which Usually Works Or Send Away For One, Had A Tray Problem On My Old Marantz CD52 The Tray Was Giveing Me Problems Turns Out The Loading Gear Had Crumbled Away The Old Plastic Over The Years Just Fall Apart Got a New One And a Loading Belt Of Ebay Fixed The Problem Perfect Loading And Ejecting Now I Always Use a Bit Of Silicon Grese On The Teeth Of The Loading Tray Nice Bit Of Donovan Steve I Have HMS Donovan On a Double LP Thanks For The Upload Steve Regards mike.
I usually get comments like so what I am a presenter you are just the technician - I reply with ‘I am a presenter as well’ which shuts these idiots up…. I hope this video helps you Plastic Cogs and Gears are the work of the devil!
Unfortunately Numark doesn't build them well. Unlikely to see that brand in a studio. Signal to noise line out not high enough plus not balanced outs! Dennon no longer build their legendary players. That's the ones studios used
4 years they lasted including the Pandemic. They did not ask for advice they just bought them. Things do come home to roost....
Was there ever a part 2. I’ve got a similar problem with a DN-C635 - also for a radio station 😮.
@@renowden2010 I don’t think there was but I know the problem well. There is a small loading belt underneath the CS tray - open the thing halfway by cutting the mains and you will see it. Just change that belt ….
@@Steveuk405 thanks. I have done that, greased the runners & gear and now it works perfectly.
