As a lifelong Saints fan this one really had me quite emotional. I grew up with the team being embarrassments and I could never express how much it meant to me to get to watch the Saints win it all in 09 and get to share that with my mom and pops after them following the team from its inception. Especially watching what's currently become of the Saints, I really believe I enjoyed every moment of the Brees / Payton era and took none of it for granted. I will never get over the no call - largely because it's so controversial that it's impossible to get over as it gets referenced often. But more than for myself or our fan base, I feel the worst about it for Drew. As the video said, he gave it all, and had the chance for the 2nd ring more or less stolen from him. He's a legend.
I can't say much else other than thank you for this video bro. I hate to know how much Drew had to sacrifice to bring that trophy home and keep trying to get another. But I believe he'd make the same decision eternally if he had to.

The doctor was up front with me, said I was within 1mm of needing surgery to put a screw in and that I had a decision to make. Keep playing football and basketball, or walk when I was 50. I'm 57 and just went on a 5 mile hike this past Sunday. And.....that ankle just started with the arthritis this year. I cant imagine the pains he went through and the pains he’s having. I have problems with my right wrist from working on cars. Building house. Cabinets makers whole my life. My dad taught me since i was little kid. He was local race car driver when i was born. Now as 40 years old my right hand isnt working like it used to be. I cant even bend my wirst at all.. nerves would pitch like crazy and dropping things. I couldn’t hold bottle of water with it and I struggling trying to fix. Build things so I stopped using my right hand for past 3 years but drew man. What a legend.

I've always Respected Drew "Cool" Brees for his play on the field and his Humanity off the field. It's too bad he played durning the Manning/Brady Era. He is vastly underrated and deserves so much more credit and accolades

As a saints fan after that missed call against the Rams was the day I stopped watching the NFL regularly after that I knew the League does have an agenda and does rig games unfourtantely. And its crazy seeing what Drew had to overcome and what he sacrificed for the Saints forever a legend.

I grew up with Sharrif. Andrews cut a nerve in his leg and ended his career. This actually isn’t as uncommon as you might think in back/knee injuries. The players just usually get blamed for being injury prone. I worked for the eagles for years and I promise you when I say the Dr they had on staff for a few season worked at my high school and misdiagnosed my shoulder as having a torn rotator cuff when I broke my upper arm.

That missed Rams saints pass interference call is a sign that the NFL really wanted LA and the LA market to get excited about football in my mind. I don't think the NFL goes around rigging games all the time but they surely can in small ways affected one game and get the team they want into a super bowl. The NFL was deserate for LA to be excited about football for the first time since NWA was rocking Raiders gear

Flemo you fucking cooked with that whole intro man. Especially seeing Drew Brees injury from a x-ray and knowing that Drew's career could have very well ended right there because of that play, but only if he was a lesser man then who he is. Drew honestly is one of those underrated comeback stories that in a vacuum might not have ever happened if we didn't have the medicine and access to doctors that we have now. Very underrated player in the greatest QBs of all time discussion (top 10 more or less). 🙏

When I went to Mississippi in 2007, I became a fan of Drew. Plus, the fact that he won the Super Bowl is amazing, but not the MVP boggles me. During that time too, he was crushing the Chargers for payback of his right arm. Throwing Left with a guy who is 6' tall is mind blowing too, plus he had the weapons with him, Shockey, Bush, and the defense came correct. He needs to be in the Hall like RN.

Brees is ABSOLUTELY one of the greatest of all time, & on the short list for best of his era. Because of the Patriots’ rings, so many quarterbacks who were all-time greats like Brees don’t get the credit they earned from media & fans.
Manning changed the way football is played (pre-snap motions by offenses & defenses) exist because we were privileged enough to watch someone who knew the game SO WELL that NFL football is forever changed because of him.
Rodgers is arguably the best passer we’ve ever seen. “But he only has one ring.” Manning forced the entire league to change the way they fundamentally played on both sides of the ball. “Only two rings.” Brees is on that list of “greatest of that era” but again… rings rings rings. What if I told you championships don’t automatically make an individual the “best” in a TEAM sport?
Brady’s of course one of the best of his era as well, but I wouldn’t even call him “goat” of the last 2+ decades. But that opinion is impossible to argue with 99% of NFL fans because all they point to is the rings.
Brady’s career was legendary. Not taking anything away from his skill- the man had ice in his veins. The best postseason QB of all time. What I AM saying is that Brady’s rings diminish the legacy of players like Brees in the minds of the vast majority of media & fans.

    • @JDBass36

Brees put up big stats but was a playoff choker, also similar to Manning as well
He wasn't a very clutch QB
Also dosnt help that the Saints had to basically play dirty to win a Ring

I’ve always had a deep admiration and respect for Drew Brees and the Saints franchise. My friend was gifted 50 years line seats for a preseason game at Gillette one year between the Pats and saints. We were behind the saints sideline. We yelled for and waved to Drew like maniacs, and he laughed and waved back which we didn’t expect. Good dude. Was nice to both Saints and Pats fans that night.
