Spent the first 18 years living by the sea in the Devon countryside. Now I’m 19 and at uni in London. Completely relate to wanting the balance between a social city life and being back home with no one around.
Why anyone would long for a shithole city life in comparison to beautiful Devon is beyond me. I've lived in a city for 59 years and I can't wait to get out of it!
Johnny Flynn in his rightful position of guardian Angel 😇 woke up to find this alchemy on my notifications, have had it on repeat, with no intention of stopping any time soon. x 🌸
I love this because this girls' story is so relatable. She's longing for connection in her everyday life (thus the guy with the beard), but at the same time she only feels truly happy, herself, and unrestrained, when she's by herself, daydreaming in her own little world. Johnny keeps coming to sit with her there but she never acknowledges him - we don't get to know if she ever finds somebody who understands her enough to join her in her own little world...but we can keep hoping :)
This video is really good. Exactly how i feel. I love being married but i also want to go adventure by myself and don't know how to reconcile those things necessarily
Johnny Flynn also enthralled with a great acting performance in "Beast" (2018?) a neat little psychological drama with Jessie Buckley. Well worth your while.
Walking in my mourning in the morning Let me tell you of the ashes in the great Sun is raised for dawning, let the dawn in Let me lift my heart and free my song from pain To the song, to the song of Wandering Aengus People talk of rain, now for the pain Now in the swing of all the people at the gate Call of men-folks down in the woods, Bow down to Cyprus In the hazel wood and wave For the song, for the song of Wandering Aengus To step amidst the ferns who gently learn To whisper solitude to sunlight through the breaks I have seen your name writ through the clothes Knit pulses swelling in the fire I made last night With the song, with the song of Wandering Aengus With the song, with the song of Wandering Aengus Walking in my mourning in the morning Let me tell you of the ashes of the great Sun is raised for dawning Let the dawn in, let me lift my heart and free my song from pain To the song, to the song of Wandering Aengus To the song, to the song of Wandering Aengus
I wish I could see him live this month, but I'm away for 4 days when the shows are near me and the rest are too far away :( Very intriguing video, have to watch it again to get the message!

Let me lift my heart Out of this darkness And begin to live again Mourning mourning Too much mourning Wasting my little life away But Sadness is a virtue in this day and age but Still Respite flows in A warm Cedar smelling rain Wondering Wondering to much wondering Wasting my little life away They say The quickness may not catch you if ya don't play their way Nope never again No more games It's the morning of new days Forever forgotten ways Running from the darkness I m running away Running running too much running I m wasting my little life away
Sea Fever BY JOHN MASEFIELD I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by; And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking, And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking. I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied; And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying, And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying. I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life, To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife; And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover, And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.
It's somewhat unfortunate that I read Spike Milligan's version before I read the original... 'I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky, I left my socks and pants there, I wonder if they're dry?' The original, is better, but I still rather like Spike's version....😉
Just discovering this talented man. What l have heard I am very impressed.
Im not sure how well known this is, but the song of wandering aengus is a breathtakingly beautiful poem by W.B Yeats
Yeah and Johnny is a fan of Yeats, so I’m not surprised. And if you look at the lyrics, it was actually inspired by the poem
@@yuqichen4056 I never realized how well known the poem is until I went looking for it.
Christy Moore sings an excellent version of The Song of Wandering Aengus

Bet you love Emma (2020) then.
Scrotal recall
How do you know his mind?
His lyrics give a glimpse into his mind......he has a thoughtful and subtle mind if they are any indication

He’s been around working hard at his crafts, but under the radar for a lot of us til this time.

good to see that a huge part of his songs and videos reminds the purest things of life (like nature, kids...).

What a song
Great song. I'm getting a 'Lake Isle of Innisfree' vibe from the video too.
I can relate to this because I would always rather be in Pembrokeshire too.

Walking in my mourning in the morning
Let me tell you of the ashes in the great
Sun is raised for dawning, let the dawn in
Let me lift my heart and free my song from pain
To the song, to the song of Wandering Aengus
People talk of rain, now for the pain
Now in the swing of all the people at the gate
Call of men-folks down in the woods,
Bow down to Cyprus In the hazel wood and wave
For the song, for the song of Wandering Aengus
To step amidst the ferns who gently learn
To whisper solitude to sunlight through the breaks
I have seen your name writ through the clothes
Knit pulses swelling in the fire I made last night
With the song, with the song of Wandering Aengus
With the song, with the song of Wandering Aengus
Walking in my mourning in the morning
Let me tell you of the ashes of the great
Sun is raised for dawning
Let the dawn in, let me lift my heart and free my song from pain

Let me lift my heart
Out of this darkness
And begin to live again
Mourning mourning
Too much mourning
Wasting my little life away
But Sadness is a virtue in this day and age
but Still
Respite flows in
A warm Cedar smelling rain
Wondering Wondering to much wondering
Wasting my little life away
They say
The quickness may not catch you if ya don't play their way
Nope never again
No more games
It's the morning of new days
Forever forgotten ways
Running from the darkness
I m running away
Running running too much running I m wasting my little life away
Can't wait for the new album!

Fantástica
Люблю людей, которые любят творить и дарить людям!♥️🙏
Wanna see this guy live
missing pembrokeshire now...
just fell in love with this guy
Jaysus just stumbled on this ..great
Such a lovely tune and video.
That swan got off lightly! Atleast until its signets are poisoned by the corroding rare earth contents of the phone.
I cringed when I saw that too... as well as the carving on the tree. I love the song though.
I went out to the hazel wood,
Because a fire was in my head.
I fuckin love detectorists and the fact that it led me here
This video is literally how I feel working right now. All I want to do is travel.
Love this song
23th march, waiting for tomorrow!
Every time I watch 1:16 I wonder if she knew that swan was there and how close she was to hitting it with her phone!!
I believe she potentially killed it by throwing her cellphone, it might think it’s something edible...
Please. Therez a crew who knew. Fished it out. Ya?
1:18 - best moment - thank you
sim vc achou um comentário br, vejo q vc tem bom gosto vamos ser amigos?
