One of the major things that I will miss from Burnie's Vlog is the inside look on Rooster Teeth, which isn't something we see anywhere else. With RT Life not being as prevelent, this Vlog, while it had its adventures elsewhere, was a way of knowing where the company was at and how it operated. So while I am sad to see it go, I do wish for something else that would help fans like myself who are fascinated by the company and its growth.
Same, i usually watch his vlogs, while im working or listening to it during working. Which is a nice thing, I miss when RoosterTeeth did RT life and really glad Mr. Burnie is duing this vlogs.
Try the RWBY behind the scenes stuff. They've interviewed everyone from the Animators, the Producers, the Writers to the voice actors. This week they covered motion capture.
Burnie is like my second dad. While my own father has taught me plenty, he is rather terrible with words and feelings. Between him and Burnie, who somehow manages to talk about something I need to hear, I find the energy to keep going. Thanks Burnie!
As much as I enjoy the vlogs with Ellie and Burnie doing stuff, my favorite vlogs have always been the ones like this where it's just Burnie sitting down and talking to a camera. So please do one more of these, I always really enjoy getting to pick your brain.
Burnie is inspirational in many ways. He's open, honest and accepting that even his mistakes have a value to them that allows him to progress, either through not making the same mistake, or solving the same problem from another angle. More importantly, I feel that what he radiates out is something even more amazing: He gives people the motivation and the gentle encouragement to just *try* to begin with. He knows you'll make mistakes, he knows it might not even work, but he's proud that you've just *attempted* something, and that's a quality you really have to cherish in a person.
I do have to say, I don‘t watch the vlog because it‘s a Rooster Teeth vlog. I watch it because I‘m interested what you as Burnie want to vlog/talk about. I still respect your decision tough that you want to move to a different project and I‘m looking forward to it :D
Jonathon Benham but Burnie should be there too, the whole reason of this is to make her his protector during Apocalypse right? And he can grade her at the end to say if she has learned all she needs or "this will take more work than I thought". But Elle is pretty bad ass that I now wonder if there's someone at RT as bad ass or if she'll be "Rick" of RT during the apocalypse.
Whatever you are doing now Burnie, I hope you are enjoying yourself. You've been an inspiration, and your business and life insight has been very valuable.
Burnie thank you for your vlogs. Currently working with local law enforcement at a major wildfire in my community (Ventura, Ca) and being able to watch your vlog on a 20 minute break is a nice relief from everything going on. Thank you
Honestly, the Burnie Vlogs have been very informative 'to me' and it'll be deeply missed by many. I always look forward to taking advice from you Burnie! Thanks for the fun year so far.
Man. I used to watch RT a lot a few years ago and eventually drifted off from it. Then I saw Burnie's vlog one day and thought how cool it was to see the up close and personal of the people that made my favorite show (RvB). It was cool to meet Ellie and all the odd tasks she was put to do. Anyway I'll probably miss it much more than I thought and will definitely be in anticipation for whatever comes to take its place.
This was a horrible year for me emotionally and financially, however these videos help and keep me going. It's nice to hear from someone who is as successful as Burnie take time and just go over thoughts and memories even if they don't seem all that important to some people. Keep up the great work humanity!
This is my favourite kind of Burnie Vlog; the ones in which he gives advice and sheds light on his beliefs and philosophies. It's fascinating to watch and to try to adapt the things he says into my own life to help me grow both emotionally and professionally, as a lot of his advice doesn't really shoehorn itself by its own nature. I personally hope that the last few vlogs are more of the same. The lifestyle stuff is fun, but the insight into the mindset and philosophies of such a successful person truly make for an enthralling watch. Sad to see it go, but happy that the time it frees will be put to good use!
I am literally working my last day of work tomorrow from my retail job, to invest full time and money into my own business. It'll be the last day of my two weeks notice. I've planned it for awhile now and had a lot of backlash from people(friends, family, coworkers), but something inside me has told me it's the right choice. Pretty much everything around me has pointed toward that path in life. I believe in myself that I can do it, but I will say, at this point, as it's getting closer, it's a little bit nerve wrecking. This is the exact thing I required hearing. Thanks, Burnie, for all the great content and the great advice! I hope you all continue to thrive and prosper, as a company and as individual people.
Dang. I actually really love the Burnie Vlogs. Inspiring, fun, interesting... and we got to meet Ellie, who is really refreshing as a human being! All the luck on your next risk/adventure Burnie, and thank you for the (almost) year where you've used this vlog to help us connect with you more directly.
I’m actually going to miss these when they’re gone. Always looked forward to them week after week. You actually mixed it up really well with advice giving and wacky activities, like the apocalypse training. One of my favorite things honestly. Thanks burnie.
Like so many others I've been a huge fan of the vlogs. Your talk about taking risks is something we've all heard many times before, but when you've followed Rooster Teeth for so long and seen the progress it really gives meaning to those words. Thanks for the year!
I just recently moved 1700 miles away from home (from South Louisiana to North Dakota) for a well paying job for a relatively new company (4 years old). I use to work as a wireline operator before I got laid off in 2016 and I recently had been wanting to get back in it. My old wireline company wanted me to come back and I told them yes. Not long after that, this company called me. I had been thinking of moving out of state for a while, but now it was actually happening. I talked it over with friends and family and decided to make the move. I couldn't be happier. These vlogs have definitely reassured me of this decision and kept be going when I started having second guesses. Thank you :D
I fell in love with rwby at episode 8: players and pieces and that's because of the huge action scene with both main teams. I had no idea if the show would be any good but it was interesting enough to watch but that was the moment where I started telling people about it, and it has been one of my favourite shows since then.
Same for me. My problem atm is the choreography and action he talked about in this very video is something that has been waning and kind of weak (for me personally and some others in the community) in past Volumes. I hope that they can - since Burnie seems to be aware of this appeal of RWBY - get back to form with that. I'm not expecting Monty-level stuff, but something that strives to be similar.
Burnie my favorite episodes of the vlog are when you teach us something about life, like this video. The vlog you did on motivation vs. discipline legitimately changed the way I️ think. I’d love to see another vlog on how to be better at some aspect of life, that will ultimately help me be a better person.
I've enjoyed the vlog very much. I've been a community member for 14 years. Rt has been a huge part of my adult life. I've been a guardian for Rtx Austin for six years and attended all them. I'm kind of drifting away from Rt. I love you guys you're awesome. And you burnie have been one of my favorite people to follow. Keep on taking risks!
I am going to miss these vlogs and hearing this wisdom from Burnie, hopefully we can continue to get these gems of wisdom; at least in the remaining few vlogs it would be nice to have some more pearls of what you have learned like this one and others have been!
Ever since i was introduced to Rooster Teeth ive been a fan ever since. I cant call myself a huge fan yet since im only new to the RT fandom for about a few months. That aside, i LOVE everything about them. The Lets Plays, The Animated Adventures, The web series such as Camp Camp (i swear this needs as much seasons as RWB/ Red vs blue has, seriously its a WONDERFUL series. Pls dont end it at season two), RWBY, etc. The live streams and everything else. Some of the most notable stuff for me is Michael's wild party animal personality and colorful language, Miles Luna being a dorky cinammon roll and Geoff's kid, Millie, being a total savage badass for a kid her age. And lets not forget Joey the cat along with the other RT pets. Pls dont ever stop being awesome. I know you guys will never read this. But i just felt like showing my gratitude. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
I am very grateful for the Burnie vlogs. They're been very inspiring and entertaining for me, and I loved watching them. As someone who's taking big risks with his life right now, these vlogs were of immense help, and has even inspired me to want to start doing some vlogging of my own, or at least keeping video records of everything that I'm doing. I'm sad to hear that it'll come to an end, but I really hope Ellie (or someone else) will keep making these vlogs. Thank you so much, Burnie and Ellie!
I will miss the vlogs but thanks to them I was inspired from hearing your advice. By this time next year I plan to be out of high school and in film school pushing a life as a cinematographer and possibly starting my own little company. Again thank you profusely, thank you Burnie.
MOAR ELLIE! Ellie apocalypse training has been my favorite part of this series. Not to dis on you Burnie, I respect you greatly and have loved this place where I can come and learn from and be inspired by one of my heroes, or have a fun time kinda behind the scenes at RT. Burnie's Vlog has been a delightful mix of all my favorite things about online video and I can't wait to see what you do next. Good Luck!
Thank-you so much Burnie for making this vlog in particular about taking risks and how failures are just as important. I'm right in the middle of taking a Big risk career wise, and hearing this from You especially gives me that extra bit of strength and confidence in my decision. Thank-you.
Dear Burnie, you are an icon and a true role model, an amazing, wise and absolutely great person, and this vlog series has been insightful and inspiring and I feel it has somehow improved my life a little bit. Please don't stop. Regardless, I'm excited for the future, thank you for everything.
Sincerely, thank you Burnie, these vlogs have been funny, informative and just the essence of Rooster Teeth altogether. Sad to see them go, but I had to say thank you for the conversations you've had with us, they have had more impact than I think you realise. Not only was it a fantastic way to reconnect with you, but it gave us a look into the life you lead and the advice you gave us (personally for me) really helped me to do things I thought I never could achieve. Good luck with your future endeavours, I will definitely be keeping up to date with your content!!
This one really helped. As an anxiety-ridden high school senior whose plan is to move to another state for college and just start over, this was great, thanks Burns
I was just listening before this to a podcast about a king in exile came back to his country and kicked the vikings out of it, and the historians said being able to overcome adversity, to come back after failure and to take risks even if sometime you fail are the sign of a great leader. I'm pretty sure that makes Burnie a great leader :)
Thank you Burnie, it's nice to hear a grounded, thought out voice. Your care and thought for the human race is warming, and in a world where we're subjected in media to all the failings of the world, it's nice to hear a person interested in making other peoples lives and in turn their world's a better place.
Burnie is the kind of guy I want to sit down over a cup of coffee once a week and just let him spill wisdom out and hear his thoughts on my life experiences so far
Burnie I just want to thank you for this vlog; i've been watching RT for roughly 6-7 years now (sadly have not been apart of the community; i.e. the rt website ect.) but there is one really important line I believe that I can take away for my own personal life and that is "I want to give this a try; I have faith in it; and I want this to work." Thank you for that line; your service, and your devout faith towards those who appreciate you and your work. You truly are an inspiration to me. - A Houstonian Fan
Erik van Rijn I agree. This one at the very least got me thinking. I'm at a point in my life where I'm content with what I have, and what I'm set up to soon gain (IE Home ownership and a marriage). However, I still feel like something is missing. I think that thing is risk. I tend to play things very safe, and only make bets I know are in my favor. I have this feeling of ambition, something I need to accomplish. I just don't know what that is yet. But there's something. And I think that goes back to looking out for opportunity. I should probably open myself up to more experiences and opportunities, and the best way to do that is... take risks. Funny how that works out.
I remember how I started watching RvB and RWBY. I had very low expectations of both, and now they're my absolute favorite shows, and they make me tear up pretty often.
I'll be sad to see the vlog go. I've been a big fan of them and honestly, some of them have been very inspiring. Bernie isn't much older than I am and seeing what he's done, doing and capable of makes me look up to him.
I have loved these last few weeks of vlogs especially. Like this one, the ‘saying no’ and ‘saying yes’ ones, some of my favorites, I would really like to see more of the behind the scenes of rooster teeth, and what your thought processes are. It’s really intriguing and I know I learned a lot, so just wanted to thank you for doing these :)
Gonna miss these! Even as my days get more busy and I can't watch as much RT content I always made times for Burnie Vlogs! Good luck on whatever you are starting next!
Wait a moment, there is a gen:lock printed paper on the desk at the beginning. This video came out in 2017. Gen:lock starts in 2019. They have been planning this for two years!?!? At 0:49
This is the best content Rooster Teeth puts out. It's going to suck not having this level of realistic, down to earth, and most importantly real content coming out of Rooster Teeth.
Maybe this vlog didn't take off like you wanted, but you sure have helped me at least. It was standing right there asking all the questions I had and you were answering them, since I'm not popular or anything I can't just talk to you face to face (plus I don't live in any of the places you ever are) but this vlog felt like you were reading my mind. Thanks for a great year!
We’ve got the same type of carnival thing here in New York on Long Island with my family, it’s called the Italian Feast and it’s super fun. It lasts around 4 days, is in the beginning of September, and we go with our friends a lot, but we always make it a point to go with each other as a family at least once and as a very, very Italian family, it’s just so great
Burnie, you have a way of delivering speeches that inspire others. I find these vlogs to be fun, enjoyable, and a glimpse at new experiences for all. It is rather sad to see this come to an end. That said, I also see this as a way forward for freeing up your time for your future project. You talking about taking risks and gaining experience is important but I feel it is equally important to strive for success. Many people don't try or take the plunge and I am guilty of that as well, but I've started saying yes to things these last few years and have no regrets. I wish you all the best Burnie but drop in from time to time. Your presence is always makes videos a bit more fun!
Thank you for making the vlog, Burnie. While being entertaining you’ve also provided a lot of insightful wisdom and advice. I look forward to seeing what your next project entails.
This has actually helped me decide what i want to do, i want to create something, my own risk. I sincerely thank you burnie, i have had a hard time deciding what i want to do for four years and this has really helped
I'd like to see a vlog about choosing where to live. I know Burnie has visited tons of different places and I'm at a point in my life getting ready to exit college in the next year where I can essentially pick where I want to spend the next chunk of my life. Would be very interested to see Burnie's insight on what I might not think about when I'm making that choice for myself or a mindset to have going into it.
Sad to hear Burnie's vlogs are coming to an end, but they were awesome and heartwarming, especially the deep talk ones like these. How bout just do one with something you enjoy doing? Also gonna miss the drone shots
I definitely appreciated the moments of getting to take a look behind the scenes of the company, not just of people goofing off, but also as real professionals doing a real job. I hope that there will be some other format that can give us that sort of insight going forward. The other thing is that I hope that Ellie gets something to call her own. I think it's apparent to everyone that she's a good onscreen personality, and she deserves to have a dedicated platform for herself, or at least appear more often in front-facing content.
I'm going to miss the Vlog. You took us to places we haven't been, and gave us a behind the scene look at Rooster Teeth. Going forward, it might be nice to meet more of the talent at RT that we don't normally see on camera. The talent that's made the biggest impressions at RT. Thanks again.
Burnie, as an aspiring independent artist currently going through the process of putting together his own studio (we're starting with comics and podcasting), and in light of this particular video, I feel I speak for all start-ups when I ask for a video follow up on this same video where you share your insights on the process of putting together the blueprints and lay the foundational work to establish a brand and building a artistic platform with a team. Your work and experience is greatly appreciated, and alongside Rooster Teeth, you have served as a role model, pioneering the journey from audience and enthusiast to creator and maker. Best of luck with your future projects and may all your risks bear the results you and your team dream of, realizing through your work, your vision. Cheers!
As someone who left their dreadfully boring field to create a video game, and is currently preparing to ramp into marketing for a crowdfunding campaign, I kind of needed this right now. It's so easy for me to fret over whether I'm wasting my time, or if I can't do this, or if I'll simply fail because there wasn't enough public interest. It's useful to be reminded that what I'm doing is a risk. It's a risk that could lead to a lifelong reward as far as an enjoyable career goes, but it also might not pay off. I really hope that one day I'll have found enough success to be able to encourage taking (reasonable) risks outside of your comfort zone; that one day I'll be a little more Burnie :)
This video stood out to me cause of the title, and the message on risk taking was great. It's insane seeing how much RT has grown since the last time I watched a video back just before RWBY's release.
This was surprisingly inspirational. I'm always begging creators for behind the scenes stuff! I LOVE seeing how people make stuff or how the process of getting from beginning to end goes. So maybe in one of the next last few blogs some behind the scenes looks on something? PLEASE!
Love the vlog series. Wish you would continue doing more next year. It's nice to have snippets on messages like this along with everything going on in RT.
I think something you can talk aboht in the last few vlogs is about big transitions in life, moving to new locations, starting a new big project, etc. Also your thoughts on goals/new year resolutions.
Love these Burnie! You know would would be great for your last few blogs? Perhaps some more tips and advice for people who may be interested in creating their own production company from scratch much like you guys did. It would be great to hear a focused chat about what kind of things they need to keep in mind in the beginning, tips on the long road to becoming profitable enough to supply yourself and other people with a livable wage. The challenges of building an audience. How people seem to get to a point to expand from their initial goals, etc. Other blogs touch on these things in detail, but perhaps it'd be fun to hear your take on some common initial steps others should take? More about the amount of experimentation it takes to create content that satisfies your target audience would be great to know. All the expected struggles, and the first few moments a person can observe that shows progress is being made could serve as interesting reminders for posterity. I have other ideas, (partly because I'm one of those "been watching since the beginning of RT and interested in pursuing that goal" kind of people), but it would be nice to hear about the chaos, failures, success, and great memories of those first steps in a type of video survival or adventure guide. I realize the internet is a widely different place from the early 2000s, but your experience with it may lend a level of insight and intrigue to what we would need to know to capitalize on such a rapidly evolving part of our lives, what kind of things are temporary, and what new developments we should be on the lookout for. At the end, maybe it would be great to reflect upon the culture all of you have participated in creating due to your efforts. A new place dedicated to creation and fun ideas that is outside the usual coastal cities is the dream of many. For those of us that are not aspiring creators, it would also be an amazing insight into the way your mind works when it comes to taking these new risks and enduring through those rewards. If you do something else, that's cool too. I'll be watching all the same. Thanks for these blogs. The second you write a book, I'm buying it.
Oh man I can't tell you how much I have loved the Vlog. I am really sad that it is going away. It has been a very cool way for me to live vicariously in RT. But I understand, as a person that has a hard time focusing on something for any length of time. I am also chasing that new shinny thing. Thank you very much for sharing this last year with us. Show us how fast your car really is :)
Kinda sad to hear the Burnie part of the Burnie vlogs are going away. The Burnie vlogs were the greatest part of every friday. You are my favorite personality in RT and that could also be why i like them so much. The vlogs where you talked about useful topics about life and showing some of the day to day of RT are great and kinda inspirational and it just makes all of RT more human. I hope you have fun with whatever you do next. Thanks :D
It always feels surreal when non-RWBY cast or just people generally not associated with the show talk about it. In terms of risks, it was DEFINITELY worth it.
I love the Burnie Vlog so much and I'm sad Burnie is moving away for it, but I love and have so much respect for Ellie and I can't wait to see what she will do with it! Also, good luck Burnie on this risk you're taking! Thanks for the cliff hanger.
Thanks for the video Burnie. This one in particular has got me thinking about a lot of things. About the risks I need to take in general, both professionally and personally. Should these risks ever pay off, you'll definitely be on my list of people to thank. It's a real shame that the vlogs are ending, I hope Ellie does continue them with her apocalyptic training, those videos have been fantastic and very entertaining, I guess she doesn't need to do an eating strange things though, after the extra life stream. Thank you for all the entertainment you've provided, I've watched every single one of your vlogs and I'm a little sad to see them go. I hope the new project is a success, I'm sure it will be. You're an inspiration Burnie!
Thank you for taking risks you guys are funny and inspiring I love rooster teeth, RWBY, and Achievement Hunter, also Gavin and i wouldnt be able to love these things if you didnt take risks so THANK YOU.

TheKarstonian I don't think the vlog will go away just that Burnie won't be doing Burnie's Vlog anymore.
Same, i usually watch his vlogs, while im working or listening to it during working. Which is a nice thing, I miss when RoosterTeeth did RT life and really glad Mr. Burnie is duing this vlogs.

What if you hand the vlog off to a different person within the company every week?
Like taking care of the class pet.
This is a really good idea
A day in the life style, and every week we get to see some small part of rt from the inside
That would be amazing
good idea
Agreed
As much as I enjoy the vlogs with Ellie and Burnie doing stuff, my favorite vlogs have always been the ones like this where it's just Burnie sitting down and talking to a camera. So please do one more of these, I always really enjoy getting to pick your brain.

ChickenWrap3 what new project?
Ellie should have final "test of skills" and should endure some sort of apocalypse immersion.
I was always hoping that it would come to an end with a 7 Days to Die Immersion
If only they had a show for that...
Shivani H-C learning to deep fry foods like Oreos and twinkies
Jonathon Benham but Burnie should be there too, the whole reason of this is to make her his protector during Apocalypse right? And he can grade her at the end to say if she has learned all she needs or "this will take more work than I thought". But Elle is pretty bad ass that I now wonder if there's someone at RT as bad ass or if she'll be "Rick" of RT during the apocalypse.
They should at least give her a cameo in day 5
Whatever you are doing now Burnie, I hope you are enjoying yourself.
Thank you
Stay safe.
Please be careful.
I feel like Burnie had about eight cups of coffee before recording this
What, you think he got it right on the first try? It'd be a waste to dump out all the failed cups of coffee.
TailsMiles249 fair
I met him briefly at PAX Melbourne - He was this intense then too.
Eight, or eighty?
You might mean eighty cups of coffee......and sandwiches
Well said about taking risks. Sad to see the vlogs go, but excited to see what is to come.

Same here pal - heres to a better 2018 for all of us :)
I'd like to see Burnie's thoughts on happiness, struggles, how to learn from failure and how to be a good person.
I’m taking a big risk with starting my own business. Watching this made me feel a lot better about jumping into it.
Good luck!
Same here. I wish you good luck on your venture.
Hope it does well!
Really appreciate the kind words! Thank you guys!
KJM Garage good luck bro

Thank you Burnie for the ongoing inspiration and engagement you have given all of us and the best luck on your next project.
Rewards are not without risk. Well said Mr. Burns
I love Burnie so much. He is one of my favorite people.
This series has been more than worthwhile, and I'm sure Burnie will find a new and interesting way to keep doing what he does best.
Good Luck!
Burnie, You have always been a big inspiration to me and many others. I love your drive to always create something new. I wish you luck!
I really like it when you go around talking to all the other staff. Like barb, gav, and the others.
I swear I can listen to Burnie talk more and more and such everyday. Really loved these kinds of videos.
These Vlogs are a highlight to my week. They're kind of relaxing in a way while I watch at work.
Love ya Bernie. Your an inspiration. I wish i had someone like you in my life. Your living the dream or at least a dream Id love to be real for me.
I'm gonna miss Burnie's Vlog so much! I looked forward to every episode! I'm glad he let us know though
I love Burnie Vlogs. They’re always the realest.
No Burnie! Your vlogs have been so inspiring...
Really needed that advice on failure. I was feeling a bit hopeless so hearing that made me feel re-energized in a big way. Thanks Burnie.
Burnie, I respect and appreciate you
I remember how I started watching RvB and RWBY. I had very low expectations of both, and now they're my absolute favorite shows, and they make me tear up pretty often.
I can’t believe it’s been almost a year already! I’ve really enjoyed the vlogs and the insight into BTS Rooster Teeth. Thanks Burnie! Good luck
Good luck Burnie, I'm hopeful and excited for you in the future.
You're the best, Burnie. Thank you, and good luck.
Best vlog Burnie has done. Really great lesson to learn. Never avoid risk. Manage it.
I started a business earlier this year. It has been a slow and an uphill battle. I needed this. Thanks, Burnie!
I'm really going to miss Burnie's Vlog. it was cool and a
just a nice way to see burnie for a little while each week.
Don't stop the vlogs, there a nice little behind the scenes and little adventures of rooster teeth
Sad to hear Burnie's vlogs are coming to an end, but they were awesome and heartwarming, especially the deep talk ones like these. How bout just do one with something you enjoy doing? Also gonna miss the drone shots
Can't believe it has been nearly a year of vlogs that's crazy. I've enjoyed them all and looking forward to next thing.
We have a carnival like this in SC called the Coastal Carolina fair. I mainly go for food, caricatures, and petting zoos
I love it when Burnie makes a video that's inspirational
This video stood out to me cause of the title, and the message on risk taking was great. It's insane seeing how much RT has grown since the last time I watched a video back just before RWBY's release.
This was surprisingly inspirational.
I'm always begging creators for behind the scenes stuff! I LOVE seeing how people make stuff or how the process of getting from beginning to end goes. So maybe in one of the next last few blogs some behind the scenes looks on something? PLEASE!
Love the vlog series. Wish you would continue doing more next year. It's nice to have snippets on messages like this along with everything going on in RT.
Thanks for the Year
Burnie pep talks are the best pep talks.
Such a likeable guy. Cheers Burnie!
Thanks :D
Also how do you not have a special parking spot
Pls dont stop these blogs. Im in nothing even close to the entertainment; auto body business. And your insight always help in some way.
Thank you so much for posting these vlogs Burnie, especially this last one.
4:00 honestly to hear Burnie talk from the POV about RWBY and its production side is really interesting.
