Yeah, but they might just be doing that bc their shots are so much more powerful they would hurt a lot more. I have noticed serena has a bad habit of absolutely nailing an overhead at the net player and hitting them on shots where the other players have basically turned their back to give up on the point and she could’ve just bounced it. There was one match at Wimbledon where she did it half a dozen times and hit the net player 3 times and they got upset
@@jboww2121 you’re leaving out the fact that they tried to hit Serena completely unnecessarily in the same exact match. Also it is either a legit play or it isn’t. The power element is completely irrelevant.

Saying that the Williams sisters hit hard is true but so does Davenport and a couple of other ladies. The fact is that the goal is to win, and according to John McEnroe to ensure you win go directly at your opponent-that way they’ll think twice before coming to net lol

Exactly. The rule says it is fair play. It either is fair play and merits no apology, or it is against the rules and merits an apology. It appears the commenter has no idea of the rules and, yes, a prejudice against Queens Williams and Williams.
