Once again, this vehicle is described as a Mk2. This vehicle is actually known as a Series 2! I would have thought that the reviewer had done the homework and concluded that it is actually a Series 2! There has never been either a Mk 1 or Mk2 1600e. The Mk2 description can, however, be assigned to the Mk2 Cortina GT, Cortina 1300 and the Cortina estate because there had been a Mk1 of each of these variants.
It is a mk 2 cortina series 2. The series 1 mk 2 cortina had the 4 dials placed in the dash. The series 1 had the 4 dials mounted on top of the Dash. Also the series 2 had some other modification’s I e different seats Crome on year panel. Chrome lettering on boot and bonnet. Different hand brake. Fog lights. Ect. So yea this car is a mk 2. Cortina.

Aubergine, one of the best colours for a 1600E. A lovely example, just needs a vacuuming and tidy up of some bits to get it mint.
There is a spacer ring missing between the steering wheel boss and steering column that's why there is a big gap 👍
