I fished out of a 2015 PA12 for about 6 months - got a great deal from a guy who bought it new and never used it! I'm an older guy and did not find it as stable as the new 2016 Native Slayer Propel 13 that I bought and still fish from 7+ years later. I was very unstable standing in the PA12 and I blame it on the higher center of gravity - your feet are almost 6 inches above the water line - thus it's less stable. The water line in my Native SP13 is right at the top of my scuppers, thus I can get 1/4 to 1/2 inch of water in the cockpit sometimes! But, that lowers my center of gravity - great for a less stable older guy! I also like kayaks that have more limited hull access as these access points allow the hull to take on water more easily (like through the Hobie hatches!!!
I have a pa14 on bixpy motor. I need the 2 feet more since I retrofitted a seat behind my seat to fit my wife so we have fun fishing together on lakes. She loves it. The ample 2 more feet makes it spacious for her to be comfortable. It's very stable even with 2 adults and she does not do any work except reel in the fish. Lol.
I originally tried my inlaws Hobies out back in 2013, a pro angler 14 & an outback. I liked them both so much it was to hard to decide which one I wanted to buy for myself. I found the pro angler 12 & it was perfect. Got my first PA12 a used one in 2014. Fished it a ton up untill I upgraded to the newer PA12-360 in 2021. I haul my kayak around in bed of my truck & use the Hobie cart when needed. I didn't wanna need a trailer. I can load & handle my PA12 with ease . The 12 is perfect size for me. I would buy another 12 again
@@AliexFolgueira knock on wood... she holding up good. I make sure I check & keep everything the correct tension & lubed up properly every once n a while. I use it 1-2 days a week 12 months out of the year.
Had a Pa 14, just wasn’t the kayak for me. Big thanks to you, your video on the native slayer max helped me figure out if I was gonna buy it or not. Loving it!
I have a PA 14, looks like Aliex just doesn't like them as several of his videos show. BTW, there is no more of a problem reaching behind on the PA than there is on the yak beside it in the video, the cargo is directly behind the seat in the PA just like most other yaks. If you're a bigger guy, the PA 14 is a great option, up to 600 pounds capacity for you and all your gear.
i think there are better and cheaper options out there but, thats why we have options right? gotta get what works for you, if that is a pa14, awesome !
Does david sell Kaku? I got my Wahoo 7 years ago at Sup and Skiff in Orlando... and recently drove over to Kevins warehouse in Tarpon Springs to get my new Zulu pedal drive Sup/Kayak hybrid... It would be nice not to have to drive 3.5 hours from Palm Coast next time. Oh and I LOVE my Zulu.
I demo’d a PA14 and a bunch of others this year. I really liked the PA14, could get it up to a decent speed although it took a while and great storage. However I think I’m going with the Old Town Sportsman 132 Bigwater PDL, it was so quick and nimble and can run laps around even the Outback (which was not slow by any means). I’ll be able to carry what I carry now, maybe get a Blackpak pro with more rod holders
@@AliexFolgueira I thought it did pretty well all around. I found it less rickety on a little chop than my Bonafide SS127 (probably easier to flip, but didn't rock me side to side much). All around a top performer.
@@AliexFolgueira I had it flying and turned the rudder all the way (on the 120 it's basically all or nothing so I expected the same) and had to hold on the seat to not fall off!

I would love to see the extra seat set up!

100% agree, how is the 360 holding up?

Glad I could help!
What did you not like about it?
I had a PA12 Know have a PA14 heavier bit harder to handle but absolutely no regrets PA14 any day
Nice to have the extra space
I have demo'd a PA14 and its like a tank. I have a Outback and I love it. I had a Feelfree Lure 11.5 but I did not like the drive.
yup, yup and yes the old feelfree drive is quite different
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Awesome stuff dude
I thought I wasn’t going to be able to say that until 2024 🙃
