Marc, congratulations for Marathon’s gift. That is a beautiful piece. I agree that a watch becomes more beautiful when it is a gift because of the special meaning behind it.
Thanks for the review of a really cool piece and congrats on it being gifted to you. I once received a token of appreciation from a large supplier of heavy equipment (20 years ago) and it still has a special meaning to this day.
Love BIG watches. This Marathon is a beast. Recently picked up a 46mm Breitling for my 6 1/2 in wrist. They offered me a 42 and 44mm but they didn't have enough presence FOR ME. Looks great on you Mark. Very manly. Congrats on the acquisition and enjoy that thing.
Such a cool timepiece. I want one so bad! My son got me a GSAR last year, and I was blown away by it, but I love larger watches. I have to get a JDD some day. Thanks for sharing Marc.
I am looking to purchase a JDD when they come back in stock. I have been wearing a Citizen Skyhawk AT everyday since 2008. I figured it’s time for a upgrade so I can send my Skyhawk to Citizen for some TLC. I am excited to get one of these on my 8.75” wrist.
Fortunate to get such a gift mate...but have to agree that it is a result of the hard work you put in selling watches so such gifts are something that is expected...
Just to back you up, there are some used JSAR, TSAR on ebay from time to time and the sellers have commented that they were issued the watch while in NSW (naval special warfare) another guy said he did 2 tours in Iraq and 2 in Afghan with his. They were both pre-owned. Looked legit to me.
Nice watch. After you debuted it in an earlier video I checked out their website. It would have more sentimental value if you gifted it to me. Ha ha. After I saw the listed price I decided I liked the Karlskrona more. It's in transit as I write this; it should arrive by my day off. Happy New Year, Marc.
Great video Marc! Would never get it but, as you said, being a gift it has special meaning. I have 3 watches that have been gifted to me and same thing. Would never have bought them but I love them.
Cool watch. I owned one for a while. For ultimate comfort, I found rubber deployant style straps from Bonetto Cinturini (same co. that makes straps for Marathon I think) to be ideal. Anyone who owns this watch should give them a try IMO.
Mark, I've got a Marathon JSAR and was wondering which Strapcode would work best. Looking at a ANGUS-J. I just don't know which end would work best. Thx
Just now saw this video ! Would you be willing to do a video on just the JSAR ? ( The Jumbo Quartz model ). I'm looking to get one and would like to know your thoughts on it. I have a 7.25" wrist and almost 6'2" so I think I can pull the look off. I currently have a GSAR that I love.
With an automatic watch like this one, just let it run down. If you have a quartz watch you can pull the crown out, but if you don't wear the watch for very long periods the battery can corrode and ruin the watch - that's what my watch repair guy tells me. I have 4 solar quartz watches that have been running for 12 -15 years without ever stopping and never had any problems with them wearing out. There are multiple schools of thought concerning automatic watches. Should they be kept running constantly to keep the gears lubricated - should you let them stop completely for long periods so you don't wear out the parts and on and on. There's no real definitive answer. I let mine run all the way down then put them on the watch winder for a few days and on and off like that. Remember though this Marathon Watch is very robust and built to be durable. I doubt you can hurt it by letting it run all the time.
Have not pulled the trigger yet but I want the 41-42mm in Quartz. Hell of a watch, I have the digital ADANAC but in hindsight (just the fit really), I will flip it for a G Shock soon.
I like it and I have been to Israel so I am qualified to buy such a timepiece :) Its a tank ! Those tubes are also used on handgun night sights but they do fade over time, what then ?
hey Mark, I got a couple of questions... I got a Seiko with 7s2c movement a couple of years ago (my first mechanical/automatic). How often should I service it? it is running 5-12sec a day faster when I am wearing it regularly. also got a Bambino gen2 v2 a few months ago, and that one is running about 30sec a day fast.
It is running decently, but I remember the sales person of seiko told me to service it every 3 or 5 years, I do not remember. so was wondering if it is like a car, there is a regular service interval for these watches.
I wish Marathon would bring back the SAR with triple layer Superluminova dial and white Benrus style ladder hands. The tritium dial and hand design is too 'bitty' for my liking.
Very cool. Love tritium timepieces. Is it T25 or T100? On the case back it says 27 Millicuries, is that how radioactive it is? My Luminox is T25 and it says 1GBq H-3.
T100 is 4x the size of T25. 2x2 "tubes". But it is one piece. Much better for readability but for a soldier I guess bigger chance of being spotted by the enemy. But I am a civilian so what do I know.
Marc, I also have a JDD, purchased from you in fact. I was curious why do other marathon watches have the date it was made on them and the JDD doesn't.
I want a Marathon so bad! I have a Ball and a Lumi Nox and he is right, they glow so well at night. I need to sell some of my other watches so I can buy a Marathon.
Marc, congratulations for Marathon’s gift. That is a beautiful piece. I agree that a watch becomes more beautiful when it is a gift because of the special meaning behind it.
Thanks so much! I appreciate it.
Thanks for the review of a really cool piece and congrats on it being gifted to you. I once received a token of appreciation from a large supplier of heavy equipment (20 years ago) and it still has a special meaning to this day.
Thanks Eddie! You know what I mean then!
Nice watch Marc, congrats. Goes to show your integrity and outstanding customer service.

Love Marathon, great to know the Israelis use them too. Best Canadian watch brand. Cheers mate.
Thanks Shawn!
Very nice looking watch and congratulations on your “freebie” (you deserve more!).
Cheers🍻
Thanks so much!

Thanks for checking it out.
Sweet dial! 24hr markings on the chapter ring is a nice touch. Love to see you review the (MEDIUM) GSAR #WW194026 and the optional bracelets.
Thanks, will consider it.
Just purchased the CSAR Chrono from you. Will be delivered today...... Can't wait
Marathon make some cool pieces. Have to check them out sometime.
They sure do.
I like all the Marathon watches... One of my favorites.
Thanks. Me too!

This watch is in my grail list. Love it!

LOL, thank you.
That's a chunk of steel right there. Legend has it that you can throw that at the enemy when you run out of bullets.
LOL; that would work.
Love the marathon jumbo...a very masculine watch with alot of presence ...
Sure is!
Greetings from Israel. Nice to know that our finest get the best.
Chaim Magal , I was happy to hear that too. Cheers mate.
Amazing watch.
Chaim Magal you re welcome. I probably helped pay for them...a us taxpayer
@@shawnchinnery663 Happy New Year!
Sure they need fine equipments to kill the innosent people of Palestine. Shame on Marathon, I'm boycotting them now on.
Lucky Dog! Nice watch. It seems we have the same bathroom schedule at 3am...LOL
LOL, yup!
It has everything I want from a watch. Great...
Great video Marc! Would never get it but, as you said, being a gift it has special meaning. I have 3 watches that have been gifted to me and same thing. Would never have bought them but I love them.

I like how that looked but always struggled getting my hand through...wish they came out with a rubber deployment like a cheaper breitling...
I did the same thing with mine. I couldn't stand the vanilla scented OEM strap. The smell was nauseating.
Took me a while looking at this watch to realize that "Jumbo" referred to the thickness of the watch, not the size of the day/date windows.
Indeed it does!
I have two of these. One needs to be fixed the other needs the stainless steel band to be fixed.
I think it looks great on your wrist.
Mark, I've got a Marathon JSAR and was wondering which Strapcode would work best. Looking at a ANGUS-J. I just don't know which end would work best. Thx

If i dont use my watch, should i pull the crown out to stop it??? Just think of this may help the system could have break time!!

Video request:
Can you make a detailed video on the Marathon CSAR? I've been really enjoying your content.
Love Marathon watches, but started my collection with a Luminox 3050. Might have to upgrade to the Marathon soon.
You'll find that Marathon is a major upgrade.
Yamam acronym for Special Police Unit, also known as, Special Unit for the War on Terror
would a watch like this gain value as a collectible over time?
Amongst the Israeli Marathon watch fans, it probably will. 👍
Have not pulled the trigger yet but I want the 41-42mm in Quartz. Hell of a watch, I have the digital ADANAC but in hindsight (just the fit really), I will flip it for a G Shock soon.
Thanks for watching.
I have that version, love it.
I own a couple Marathons, I really like them because of the tritium.
Thanks, that's my view too!
That and I like their accuracy.
I think you might want to increase the photo exposure on your videos Marc; just a suggestion, love your vids :)
Thank you.
How cool is that!
Super cool!
Very cool.
Very cool watch
Thanks.
I like it and I have been to Israel so I am qualified to buy such a timepiece :) Its a tank ! Those tubes are also used on handgun night sights but they do fade over time, what then ?
After a couple of decades, if you want, they can be replaced.
Great timepiece, Marc. Too bad some of us could not afford to buy one.
No worries. Affordable means something different to many people.
Very nice Indeed!
Thank you!

It's a beauty. Man, you get up early ;-)
Nature calls!
Very cool ya mam.
Actually I have a ball watch with t100 and the thing glows very bright almost too much. I'd like to get a 41mm marathon one day.
That's a flashlight!
Love it!
Thank you!
I wish Marathon would bring back the SAR with triple layer Superluminova dial and white Benrus style ladder hands. The tritium dial and hand design is too 'bitty' for my liking.
That's OK; thanks for checking it out.
Always enjoy your videos, man. :-) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
wow this is so cool! I'm from israel. i didn't know that they did a ימ"מ version. is this watch available in the 41mm case size?
The watch shown is the only one with the Hebrew date since it is made for YAMAM so only in the jumbo seize.
How often do you restock? I really want the Orient Sun and Moon v3 in rose gold...
Every month or so.
gorgeous... KEEPER
thank you
We all love free watches. Where they're at? Nice review.
Growing on the watch tree!
It's huge ! Only for Special Forces guys !
Lol, true!

Say..... That`s a nice watch.
Thanks!
Marc, I also have a JDD, purchased from you in fact. I was curious why do other marathon watches have the date it was made on them and the JDD doesn't.
wow
Enough to take the Squale off ? Lol !
Nice watch. Marathon watches wear small .
Not this one!
Long Island Watch ,
I purchased my 41 mm from your shop.
I'm jealous
Just enjoy the show!
That’s beauty....sadly too big for me...love the Hebrew day display....
I had a free Marathon, but it didn’t look like yours!
Haha, free is still good!
Cocktail time review?
Maybe. . .
I ask every video for fun lol.
Nice, but my house is smaller than that.
LOL
I want a Marathon so bad! I have a Ball and a Lumi Nox and he is right, they glow so well at night. I need to sell some of my other watches so I can buy a Marathon.
Ball look like great watches, drooling over their skindiver 2. This does look good though.
Beautiful watch. Just too large for my wrists.
It's a beast.
HAHAHA look like a CLOCK on your wrist
Will the radiation from this watch give me superpowers?
Raphael only if you break the glass
No powers, sorry. Just strength conditioning from moving the weight around!
