You are wise beyond your years. You're an inspiration. It amazes me you've come to this point at such a young age. I was out of control for 2 more decades. I wish I had stopped drinking at your age.

So insightful! Thank you for this video! I can really appreciate all the tips you gave, they're spot on. I turn 28 next week and I'm starting my sober journey now. Drinking has been a part of my life since the age of 14 and I can easily say that I have been a binge drinker since then. It's a veryyy normal thing where I live (Miami, FL). Alcohol brings out the demons that I've worked to hard for in my adult life to overcome so I'm saying F you to alcohol because it simply does not serve me anymore. Wishing anyone on this journey the best of luck!
I love this. Tomorrow is my 25th birthday and I have decided not to drink for the entire year of 2022. I want to build out my van home, work in film and tv and live life to the fullest. Life is too beautiful to be distracted from it with alcohol.
Thank you so much for your realness! I am finally quitting drinking and I really appreciate you giving tips and just being relatable about the struggles... you are helping immensely
These tips are ever so helpful!, and I’m going to download the sober not drinking app, and I’m sure their are apps like this in the UK? but I will have a look on the App Store and online on google. And I was honestly drinking quite heavily for months on end when I was mentally unwell at the start of this year, now it’s been over 4 weeks now without drinking any alcohol I’m really enjoying it! and I feel a lot more! mentally well again because I wasn’t mentally well at all going back 3 to 4 months ago with my drinking problems, thank you for this helpful video! ☺️👍🏻, and good luck on your non drinking journey ☺️
I love it when I asked for guidance on this and I stumbled across your UA-cam. Thank you Stephanie for sharing your story and your tips. I feel Hopeful that I can do this!🙏💕
Fab video Stephanie!! As I always say, recovery lies in self discovery! The more of us talking about this and sharing thoughts and experiences - the better! Be brave, get out of that comfort-zone and into curiosity! We've got this 🧡
I'm so thankful that you created this video it's inspiring me to do the same these days. I've been binge drinking ever since I graduated high school for 2years, booze made me pass out n have uncontrollable shakes when sleeping. So when I hear someone has been going through something similar, and able to quit. It gives me motivation to stop too. Thank you for this video so much.
Abstinence is easier moderation is impossible...over 2 years on the wagon and it hasn't been easy. This has been the hardest thing Ive ever done and it feels like a can do anything without alcohol but with drinking it is so short term the long term is always depression and anxiety.
Thank You for sharing Stephanie! I'm successful living-AF because of the great resources of Annie Grace. I have surpassed 9 months living -AF. After I complete the year of 2021, living -AF, I have decided to continue to live -AF. I have the freedom of choice and I have made the decision to keep the door to moderation firmly closed. I wish you continued success living-AF.

So good to talk about the WHY behind it all and beyond the labels associated with all of this. Why does anyone cope with whatever they use to cope? What fears, grief, trauma, sadness might be at play driving the action?

My boyfriend and his friends drink a lot and I started social drinking with them. I always woke up feeling extremely anxious and embarrassed for just drinking. They would do the dumbest things and have no shame. They just laugh and tell them as funny memories. Some things they do are dangerous and I just will never understand. I’m not like that. Some people just aren’t meant to be around binge drinkers.
that's a very interesting and important point. our drinking culture/society can convince us that certain drinking behaviors are normal when in reality, like you said, it can actually be dangerous. thank you for bringing this up!
10 Best Ways To Stop Drinking Alcohol 1. Make a Plan Make a plan to stop drinking alcohol by setting a date. Post the date in a place where you can see it often. If you are a heavy drinker, you must first slowdown in order to avoid withdrawal symptoms which can be potentially deadly (in this case, involve your doctor in your plan in order to come up with a more appropriate date plan). 2. Identify the Triggers The urge to drink alcohol is set off either by internal or external triggers. The key to quit drinking and maintaining sobriety is by identifying and avoiding the triggers. External triggers, such as places, people and things that are associated with alcohol drinking behaviors and opportunities can quickly lead to a relapse. High risk situations are more obvious, more predictable and are more avoidable compared to internal triggers. Internal triggers are set off by thoughts, negative emotions such as frustrations, positive emotions like excitement, physical sensations like headache, anxiety and tension. Once you have identified the triggers, work on how to prevent them from leading you to drinking. 3. Avoid High Risk Situations The best strategy to quit drinking is avoiding high risk situations. Avoid social settings where alcohol is served. Do not buy or keep alcohol at home as this will easily tempt you. Friends and family members can also assist by refraining from drinking alcohol in the presence of those in recovery. Thanks so much for posting all these videos! I actually just googled good sober apps (downloaded I AM SOBER) and use allll the time, googled good sober books (just bought Easy Way to Quit Drinking), googled best non-alcoholic wine, etc., googled sober podcast (started listening to the Seltzer Squad podcast) and have basically just been furiously trying to find a community of fun young (I'm 26) girls who are sober so all my social media and stuff I read isn't about alcohol. So here I am on your channel! This is great and your advice really means a lot to me. I was also drinking in the mornings and just kind of living in a fog, but hiding it super well. Minus the blacking out when I would go out part. lol. Anyway, while it may not seem like a lot, I'm 8 days sober now and just getting started! So thank you!

Thank you so much for that video, I was alcohol free for about two month and then yesterday slipped and binge drank again :'( do you have any tips for not hating yourself for that that much?
Instead of shaming yourself, I’d try and view this as a learning experience. Find out what your triggers are and try your best to avoid them. It may take a few days to feel back to normal again but use this as motivation to keep going when you do feel better. I hope this helps 🤍
