I give you so much credit for your bravery sharing all of this, as well as having the strength to make that kind of decision while being in college. I really could relate to what you were saying about losing friends who party all the time, and the regret from stuff you did while under the influence. I am wishing you all the success in the world and I know that your channel is seriously going to take off!
as an older guy whose been sober for twenty years I congratulate you. I wish I had decided to cut alcohol out of my life at least ten years before I did! Longer even or never even tried it! I guess we all want to fit in when we are young and it is a rite of passage. Thanks for telling your story and I hope young people listen and follow your example.
wow 20 years! that is amazing, congratulations! You're so right, drinking is a right of passage at this age and it is so easy to get caught up in it. Thank you for the kind comment ☺️
You have an amazing channel! I am 24 and have a very similar dinking background as you. Its so comforting to know you and so many others are out there committing to sobriety!
Stephanie I hope you know how much this means to me. After a recent incident with my alcohol abuse I had to leave college (I also go to my dream school) to sober up and work on my alcohol abuse. It is so hard as a freshman in college so seeing this really helps and I would leave to reach out more to get some advice
Loved the video! I'm currently at the "inbetween" stage of thinking about giving it up and actually doing so. I wasnt the type of person who would crave alcohol or anything but after experiencing some low's recently I've decided to make some changes. Kudos to being so open about your experience and cant wait to explore more of your channel.
Great video. Sober at 22, I can relate. And the struggle to find a good white wall. It'd be fun to do a video like this on my channel, but there's no way I could get people to ask me enough questions to fill 24 minutes lol. Oh well. You've got a new subscriber. :)
hahah loved this comment! You could do a video about common questions that you get asked or a video debunking myths about sobriety! I think those would be fun if you can't find enough questions :)
How was it at the beginning? Did you have any physical side effects? And did you kind of just shut down and stay in? I’m going through it right now and it is not fun and I don’t see it as possible forever.
It was very hard at the beginning. I had feelings of anxiety and withdrawals (sort of felt feverish) that lasted for about a week. Then to stay sober I pretty much just stayed in and shut down which wasn’t bad because it was the beginning of quarantine. Whatever you’re feeling right now I promise it will get better and it won’t be this hard forever 💓 you got this!
I've smoked weed and took cocaine and amphetamines and ecstasy and MDMA I tried methadone but now I am kind of settled with Xanax sometimes but It was all ok but nothing is good when you mix them with alcohol that's like main thing and I think best is to stay sober at all but if I do get stress I do take Xanax or valium instead of alcohol I find valium relaxing for muscles but it is all riski if you keep on taking them anyway and I do avoid drinking people specially as they get more sudden mood changes anxiety maybe and arguments are easy to occur but I was usually doing those substances alone or people I kind of like and I never had problems with and I would lie if I would say that I didn't like some of them at least because I did like and much more than alcohol even and that's what makes it more addictive maybe like antidepressants or some of them can work like ecstasy giving incredible good feeling but as well hooking feeling so you like constantly start looking for more after taking the first one it's similar with alcohol as well I suppose alcohol made like paralyzed it was very hard even to lift my legs in front of other I was thinking I am gona end up in wheelchair and I will not be able to walk it all happened slowly it worsen overnight.... But with walking running and moving around I got my physical health back.

Well if it means anything I’m there too. Like I just want to find others like me but I just can’t find them it’s so hard.

Thank you so much! and yes I agree. Resonating and connecting with others my age has really helped me in my journey :)
“I lost the people I never had a sober conversation with”

6:24 your welcome
Did you use to get stomach problems? I got chronic gastritis type C because of drinking
yes I did actually. not any that were formally diagnosed but I did notice that a lot of my stomach pain went away after I stopped drinking
do you eat the punkins you paint?
I did not 😬
@@stephmstill jk!... loved your video and good luck with the channel! =*
