    Very informative. I don't cut hair but now I know to find a hair stylist who won't point cut my curly hair, which every stylist I have been to seems to do. Thanks for the tips!

    Help! I've been cutting my own hair with decent hair cutting scissors and the blunt cut stuff causes no issue.. but as soon as I point cut to texture the ends, they become split. I don't think the issue is sharpness of the blades here but maybe bad technique. Any advice greatly appreciated.

    What about wavy hair ? How should the bottom cutting be treated ? My hair are thin but rich, long wavy and usually frizzy .... always on the bottom look like I came straight out of a jungle, even after a new haircut the edges always looks asymmetrical. Will you please drop me a tip? Should I ask my hairdresser to quit point cutting on my hair?

    • @samvillahair
      @samvillahair  4 роки тому +2

      It may be worth trying to cut more blunt to see if it helps. If you are experiencing a lot of frizz, the bottom could be too separated. It can still have some texture cut into it but more deliberate pieces that leave the ends feeling more solid

    One of the things I’m having trouble with is figuring out when weight needs to be removed. I have very thick, normal straight hair. This video is making me think that a sign of too much weight is not enough movement. Hair that just sits there. Is that correct?

    I have a thick heavy wavy hair, and usually get it cuI avoid that? What is the best cut for it to weigh it down?

    Is deep point cutting necessary to blend choppy layers on sholder length hair that is medium density not thick, but not thin either also a little wave. She wants to grow her hair but she needs the choppy layers blended

    • @samvillahair
      @samvillahair  5 років тому +1

      Hi Jen, it's hard to say because we don't know what is causing the choppiness, but point cutting is often a great solution to that problem.

    I do understand but the thing is that if I get my hair cut short, the end of my hair is very thick like a block. That may be because my hair is thick but I really can’t cut it that short of else the end of it would be thick, please help with it.

    Natural curly hair but do Brazilian treatments so it's like straight most of the time. Trying to figure out the best way to cut the ends like here so they too don't get frizzy. Would I tell a stylist to follow for curly wavy or straight
    Need help I need a Sam in Pensacola oh boy
    The last person that cut my hair used a razor telling me it's was a new way to cut I will not fall for that line again ever

    I had thick wavy hair ....point cutting absolutely ruined my hair ...the stylist kept point cutting it seemed like forever ....now my hair feels thin and so wispy not to mention she cut my layers so short ughhhh. Should I just let it grow out ....?????? My hair is a mess

    • @samvillahair
      @samvillahair  4 роки тому +1

      It depends. If you're ok going a little shorter to return the thickness that was lost through the over-texturizing, blunting the ends back up a bit should help. Unfortunately it sounds like the hairdresser either wasn't clear on your wants and needs or didn't have good control over their point cutting technique. Point cutting in the right way doesn't make hair look thin and wispy.

      @@samvillahair I'm not willing to go shorter I've trying to grow it out ....I dont think she knew what she was doing ...ugh hopefully it will get better in Tiime ...thanks Sam
