- We're back in Orlando, and in this video we give a brief glimpse of our room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando before a full tour of a newly-renovated room at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando. Then we make a quick little stop at Magic Kingdom before dinner at Jiko The Cooking Place.

Mike, I would take your broken hard drive to a computer repair shop. They should be able to get all your lost footage with little effort.
Mike, a good computer repair shop might be able to retrieve the information from the drive. It's probably still there -- you just can't access it. If you haven't already tried, take it to a repair shop. This isn't the first time they've seen something like this. They may well be able to restore your footage. Best of luck with it! Just wanted to let you know that the microphones worked really well, a very clear, crisp sound without any background noise. Oh my goodness, Caleb in that hammock was hilarious!

Sending virtual hugs. So sorry about your external drive. Hopefully you can try and get it repaired. I absolutely love the updates to the Waldorf, they are stunning. We always stay on Disney property so we never get around to the other hotels. I've been trying to get my family to over to The Animal Kingdom Lodge again to try out both Jiko's and Boma. Hopefully our next trip we will make it there. I hope you have a wonderful trip and I look forward to more videos from you guys.
You can send that hard drive to a company that can possibly pull the data off. Costs about $1000 but we've done it and it worked perfectly
I wonder if you should toggle two hard drives so losing a hard drive wouldn't be so painful. Love you guys.
Oooh Mike, I’d be equally as frustrated if that happened to me! On the flip, liking the new mics. Especially, oddly enough, the way it picks up the background ambiance, it makes it professional and sets the mood! Thank you for all your efforts in sharing your memories!

We are huge Ritz-Carlton fans & the Club Level always makes the stay better. At the San Francisco Ritz on Fridays they do a caviar/champagne tasting.

😂 I don't know if that was all the "takes" of Caleb getting on the hammock or Not, but I need more. 🤣😂 A computer repair shop should be able to help with your hard drive situation. Animal Kingdom Lodge despite only having the 🚍 as a Disney transportation option is still one of our favorites. Can't beat waking up to meandering 🦒 and 🦓 outside your balcony. Such a gorgeous hotel. Sorry your meal wasn't the best this time. It's usually very good. Hope your trip was magical. We love going there during the holidays.

You can probably be able to recuperate the files if you bring the disk to a spécialiste. They do miracle! No jokes!

Oh Mike, so sorry about that. I hear you. I use external device to save our picture as well and then something happened (my young child did something) but we lost all our pictures maybe 10 years worth, so I know exactly how you feel. Since then, I just have SD card for each year. Santa will give me SD Card in my stockings. Hope you are able to retrieve all those memories. Big Hug !
I didn't check all the comments to see if someone else warned you, but I hope you saved the hard drive - it almost certainly is saveable (especially if it's a solid state drive). You probably just need a new housing for it. Any forensic repair shop can definitely save your data off it and transfer it to a new drive. I actually like your system - I've been hoarding our raw foortage since our first trip in 2004 and even though I love the edited versions, the raw stuff has so many great moments from when the kids were little. Love your vlogs and hope you can get the data back.
Fret not, Mike. It is likely all recoverable data on the hard drive. Many services available that can do this. I would definitely switch to an external SSD for your data going forward though (no moving parts to break).

I agree about the computer repair shop. They should be able to recover your videos. It does leave a pit in your stomach though when you lose something like that be it pics or documents. Enjoy your trip and looking forward to the vlogs!
Back a few years ago, The Waldorf used to greet you with a complimentary glass of bubbly upon check-in on Fridays. Loved the Afternoon Tea event at PA, hope it returns soon..

Oh NOOOO. Tech accidents are such a kick in the teeth. But, these things happen! Maybe it's a sign to reevaluate the method you use? Cloud + hard drive back ups? (Not being critical! Just making a suggestion. You do you!) Hope you have an amazing remainder of your trip. 😊❤
There's a good chance you can get your footage back off that hard drive, when you get home check into a computer store and see what they can do for you cuz that really sucks

Mike, take the hard drive to Data Doctors. They have locations all over the valley. Our daughter does filming & we have taken damaged hard drives to them. They were able to recover footage we thought was lost.

When I moved into my new build, I used command strips for everything on the walls because I didn’t want to put holes in the beautiful new drywall. What I learned, is that they have what I have dubbed the “5 year self destruct mode” because once I hit the 5 year mark in my house, one by one the frames and art on my walls fell. It was always in the middle of the night because of course it was. And the damage to my baseboards was far more than simple nail holes would have done to my walls. Never again.

it was such a dream to be able to go there last week and attend a Halloween party felt so grateful
You guys are making me jealous to be there in October, also OUR favorite time to go! Our first trip as a couple was May 2016, but after that, we only went Octobers of 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022. So we're bummed to miss this year, but we needed to cut back.
Jiko had been our favorite restaurant after our visits there in 2018 and 2019 (it was still closed in 2021). But sadly, when we went back in 2022, post-pandemic it didn't have the magic flavors it had beforehand. The bread was still delicious, and my fish was pretty good - but my husband had the short ribs (which I had ordered back on our first time in 2018 and they had been amazing), and the flavor was definitely off. I noticed that the menu post-pandemic is a lot smaller and they got rid of a few of our favorites, but I was sad to see our favorite Disney restaurant slip down in the rankings a significant amount during our 2022 trip. I guess we should have ordered the lamb! (I do love their wine though!) Glad to see you guys are still getting to the good places and I can't believe how big Caleb got! Be well gents!
this channel in particular has really wanted me to try bull and bear. i had reservations there last month and they called me that day to warn me about the construction and lack of full menu...i was so bummed and ended up cancelling. we will finally try next april!
My Halloween decor is very minimal, it’s mostly autumn decor. However, this year Hallmark put out some awesome Haunted Mansion items that connect together, and when plugged in, OMG! That with other HM items from Disney make a fantastic tablescape. Hallmark will release 3 more items that connect next year and I can’t wait!
OMG I bought them too and have them set up on a bookcase by my villains tree!!!

We went to Jiko earlier this year and totally agree with your review. I 100% agree with the giraffe bread! I would go back there just for that lol. I also ordered the filet and agree with Mike. It was good but I’ve had better steak. If we do go back to Jiko I think I will try the lamb!

@@TheMagicDads agreed! I stayed at Beach Club this past August and it’s always top tier (technically not same LOL but almost being as they share so much). It’s our home resort and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Although I will say the 2 bedroom Villas at Old Key West are huge and worth every penny! Love the videos and the family is amazing! Hope y’all stay happy and healthy ❤️

Your footage is not lost. Take it somewhere so they can get the footage off of it and they can most likely put it on something else.
Bummer about the hard drive. Maybe you can have it repaired?

Is it possible to have a great time if you stayed at a standard Marriott property,or would that be a nightmare of a trip?
These are two average guys doing the best they can with what they have. I wouldn't want anyone telling me how to spend my money/points. It's not living permanently in golden oak. It's all very attainable. But, if you're going to wish a resort on them, wish for all star sports - crammed in with a building reserved for cheer competition finalists. 🎶 When you wish upon a ⭐
Try contacting the company that made the hard drive. They might be able to recover the footage for you. They’ll probably charge a fee for the service.
Could a computer expert get the footage off the broken hard drive? Seems like they could probably.
Take your hard drive to a repair place that specializes in data recovery. It will cost $$$ but that's the advice from my IT husband.
Just so you know, the ad showing during this episode? It’s an anti trans ad for a book by Hercules Kevin Sorbo and it’s disgusting. It’s unfortunate it’s even ran on this channel, the algorithms are so jacked up.
