hey all! i did my UCAT last Saturday and used medify to prepare so thought it might be helpful as emil said to share my thoughts. I found DM harder the medify. VR -the passages were alot shorted than medify mocks, most were about 3 paragraphs with only a couple of sentences each and i got higher mark in the real exam than my average on medify. AR was slightly easier in my opinion-I got 800 whereas i would usually get 600-700 on medify. and as for QR, i think varies from person to person depending on which test you get -i would say mine was similar to most of the medify mocks. this is only my experience so take it with a grain of salt and good luck! :))
does the exam lag with the shortcuts like it does in the official mocks!? i honestly find the official ones unbearable due to the major delays when using Alt N
As a non-standard applicant who is using Medentry again this year, their difficulty has significantly dropped in the VR and QR sections. The QR section in the mocks no longer has those crazy long dot points that were more reflective of the UMAT than UCAT. They have added a lot more direct extraction questions in the VR mocks, unlike the inference style questions I experienced in the UCAT last year. However, the VR questions in the question bank still contain a lot of inference questions as well as difficult passages.
Thanks a lot for letting us know!! It makes sense that the platform might've changed since I last used it. Comments like these are helpful for other people to read :))
Did my test today: My VR score was comparable to some of my lower MedEntry scores. The passages were definitely a LOT shorter but I did not find them any easier, in fact some were quite tricky. My DM was comparable to some of the hardest MedEntry DMs. Again, it was below my MedEntry mean but not by much. My QR score was actually the exact same to my MedEntry mean score which goes to show that the difficulty of Medentry to real thing is extremely accurate. I would definately say QR on Medentry is the most accurate of any of the sections. And finally, my AR. This was 100% the section which I found the difficulty of MedEntry to be least accurate. In my opinion, the patterns in the real exam are significantly easier. On my actual AR section, I scored 800. Previously on MedEntry I had averaged 627 and my highest had been just 690.
this is so helpful thank you!! i was wondering though did you see any improvement in your score in the last week before your test or was it more of a gradual change over weeks of practise?
Hi, does the calculator work properly in the real exam because on the UCAT consortium, I often have to click a number on the calculator first to be able to then use the number pad
Can I please ask. I’m a staff nurse and only had a week left to book test for this year. I have two full days to study for this - am I being totally unrealistic? It will take me to go again next year won’t it? Thankyou
im going to cry, my exam is on Saturday and ive been practicing for about 6 months... DM has been the worst section and i fairly enjoy AR and VR but i heard that VR is harder on the actual exam than on medify so i kinda find myself in a bit of a pickle......
sir, do u expect ucat percentiles to drop this yr? the rise from 2019 to 2020 seemed a bit excessive, and im worrying whether I can get interviews with a 2890.
Personally I have no idea what will happen to the percentiles, but I think a 2890 is good enough to get you an interview. It depends on where you apply and what your ATAR is, but you definitely have a decent chance!
@naian616 hahaha look I obviously can't give you any guarantees, but if you 1. apply to a lot of universities around Australia and 2. Have a decent ATAR, that UCAT score should get you an interview
it's a dodgy one, but the answers say that in set A, the boxes can be arranged to make a 4x4 square, and in set b they can be arranged to form a 5x5 with the inside 3x3 removed. It actually doesn't work with the boxes they've provided so the question is wrong
Hey eddie I just started UCAT practise, though i have lots of time on my hand. I am getting confliction scores on individual section mocks, sometimes 480, sometimes 700, sometimes 550. It makes no sense. Do you think with practise for 5 months it is possible to get over 3000 score. Also how did you first do when you where first prepping for this exam
@@fareehashah945 thats awesome! What resources did you use and how would you say each subtest compared in the exam to the resources you used? I have my exam soon and I’m really nervous haha
That's ok! Try slowing things down and focussing on technique first so that you can try your best to save time on the easy questions that you know how to do, and also spend some time actively going through a subtest with the thought of skipping questions. This helps in both of those subtests especially!
I'm using medic mind and it's decent, but I would say the organization is a bit confusing. They will throw a couple of videos on their list and then they will suddenly throw a set of questions.
@@hello-mv6yg yes i agree, when is your ucat? mine is on the 18th and i mostly focused my revision using passmedicine but it is so much easier than the actual ucat so i started using the ucat question bank and started doing bad again. now i bought medentry and i wish i bought it so much sooner, it’s super good it has skill trainers, questions by topic and an explanation of the answers in video form in the harder questions. couldn’t recommend it more
@@susanx6782 Hi! How are you finding medentry? I’m just about to purchase after using medify for around 2 months, in my opinion the QR questions on the UCAT website are so much harder than the ones on medify! Would you say medentry are a little more similar? x

2 days is completely unrealistic. it is virtually impossible to revise for an aptitude test in 2 days.
