I loved seeing all your projects!! I hope you find a contractor for the enclosed back porch, what a wonderful knitting /crochet sanctuary it will be!! Wishing you continued strength as you navigate through your grief … knitting and crochet has always been a means of coping for me, I’m happy to see you picking up the needles and hook ❤️
Thank you Michelle. Yes, I can picture myself hanging out on my porch knitting. A great dream to look forward to. I think Ross would have liked living here.
Hi Lynda, lovely episode, you look well.Im pleased you are podcasting and knitting.Your weather is very hot indeed. The porch will be lovely closed in ,such a good idea. You are amazing to move house and settle so fast .Im hoping to get my move date very soon ,its taken a year so far .Love that one row scarf .Take care love Sylvia xx
So sorry for your loss. You two seemed so close. Glad to hear your crafting has begun to be fun again. I hope you find a group you can enjoy. I get a lot of joy from my fellow knitters and crocheters. We meet each week and chat to our hearts content. Hugs, Deb from Florida
Hi Lynda! The colors on that scarf are perfect for Victoria. I saw a pic on instagram of her wearing it. 💖 Cute socks, too. I hope you can find some moments of joy with your family, in your new home and in your crafting. Take care! 🥰
Hello from Wisconsin, I just stumbled onto your channel. You have my sympathy for the loss of your son and husband. I am a crocheter and a want-to-be knitter. I like seeing what other people are making. We had that awful heat here in the midwest, but today was actually nice...I will try to send cooler weather your way!
Love everything you’ve been working on❤️ You’re such a strong and beautiful person! I really admire you! I look forward to seeing your house renovations. So exciting! I’m not really a fan of groups either. I prefer working on my own. Take care.
Hi Lynda oh boy yes I live in Massachusetts it’s suppose to be cool in summer not 90+ heat waves yikes it’s been hot think of you and pray for you to be able to adjust to being alone although your family is near so that is awsome❤❤
Hi Lyndia i love the cream speckled socks. I'm going to try the scarf when i finished what im knitting on. I don't like the extreme heat either ( and i live in Australia) ha ha ha. Are you writing much at the moment? When my sister passed away a psychologist recommended i put my thoughts and feelings into a letter to my deceased sister. It really helped. Sometimes now 25 years later i re read them...have a cry...and then i do feel better. Hope you can find some joy each day through this hard time. Regards Dorothy (Australia) ❤
Hello Dorothy, Thank you. The scarf makes a great gift. It's a much appreciated one. I have not been writing on my blog. I remember when my son passed away, my psychologist also recommended writing and it did help a lot. Ross was my biggest supporter of my writing. I guess I'm not ready to tap into the raw emotion that I know writing will bring out. But I will at some point.
It made me so happy to see your Insta post last night, announcing you had a new podcast up. 😊 I really like that one-row scarf, and am putting it in my to-do queue. That speckled yarn is gorgeous! Though I occasionally do knit sock ‘patterns’, and occasionally knit plain vanilla socks, the majority of mine are knit in the k3,p1 ribbing. I also magic-loop, 64 stitches, but with a standard slipped stitch heel & gusset. I feel your pain in finding a good and reasonably priced contractor for your remodel work. We’re facing that same frustration right now; not so much with the cost, as we’ve not yet gotten far enough along in the process to even get price estimates. Either they don’t return calls, or tell us they’re booked up at least three months out. 🤷🏼♀️ It’s surprising to hear that your weather has been much more unbearable than ours down here in northeast Texas. We’ve had a rather mild (for us) July, but now that August, our typically hottest month of the year, has arrived, things are really starting to heat up. The only outside nature I’ll be enjoying is the view outside my sunroom window. I love that you shared that great picture of Ross at the end. As another viewer stated, he is missed by us. Looking forward to your future podcasts, Lynda with a Y! 😁
Hello Renna, Thank you :) I still want to perfect the slipped stitch heel turn and gusset. At this point It's a challenge for me to conquer. I have given the one row scarf as gifts and everyone seems to love it. Especially those who don't knit. I am having Lowes do my kitchen. My brother used them and he said it was an easy and smooth transaction. The two people I got estimates from for my porch have dropped off the face of the earth. Not answering my calls or emails. So that job may require a little more effort on my part to find someone. I am so thankful for the videos that Ross and I did together. When I watch them I can't help but smile and even giggle sometimes. :)
Hari OM Is it fair to say I miss Ross too? You will mingle with the new folks just as soon as you it feels right for you, Lynda, though, occasionally, it actually helps to push through and join in things even when we would rather avoid - just now and then, to start laying the next path. Your plans for the house sound good, especially the idea of turning the patio into a conservatory. Hope that happens for you - finding trades folk who aren't total ripoffs is a challenge, I know! Huggies from me to thee. YAM xx
Hello Yamini, I remember how much Ross loved the video you sent to him. I have learned about my strength from taking care of Ross all of those years. There were times when I thought I would not be able to cope, but I did. Thank you for your encouragement to get out and push through. I needed that reminder that I do have it in me. :) Thank you always for your support.
I am new to this channel and to crocheting! You are very talented, and you have such a comforting presence. I wish you luck with your patio! Do you have any favorite projects/first projects?
Try the knitting group, I think you will enjoy it. Maybe once a month at first. I go to one twice a month, and even though I’m a loner, I do enjoy my knitting friends.
