If you want to be heard then an air horn is the way to go. Some folks call it a train horn but one thing is for sure they are loud! This video demonstrates how to install an air train horn on a Ford F150 with all the details necessary to get it done right. This is part one of three part series and goes into depth on how to wire the horn air compressor and horn solenoid with an in dash switch. The next level is 2 pink and 2 in da stink. haha
Thank you for taking the time to make such a detailed video.
Thanks!
Very professional job Glen that you and your buddy did! I see that you'll have a three part video series and should give the folks out there a lot of detail for the ones who wants to install air horns on their vehicles. Thanks for the shout-out as it's most appreciated! Keep up the good work and stay warm as it's getting damn cold down here. 😒
Wait until you see my wiring schematics......make sure you don't get too excited. lol 👍
Nice clean installation.
Thanks, Jim. 20 minute job, right? haha

Thanks for the awesome comment!
Excellent video!!!
Thank you. Check out parts 2 and 3 if you get a chance for all the installation details.
@ozzstars_cars I did! They are excellent as well the one with the whiteboard analogy can't get any better!
Hey wait a minute, that was you or Scott behind me the other day...lol
Must be Scott cause I don't swing that way. 🤣🤭🤣 Have a good weekend Lloyd!
That's great!! The very first truck I bought at age 16 right after I got my license, I installed a set of air horns on the roof, LOL! I had the lanyard in the cab and all. Had alot of fun with that thing! I used to love going to the city, and letting it fly under the railroad bridge, especially with pedestrians under there. HAHAHA! People would jump 3' off the ground! I was such an a-hole! I bought that from J.C. Whitney for $107. Was a super simple air pump - it connected to the PCV system, and used crankcase pulses to run the pump! Wasn't very reliable, though. We had a big hurricane hit in '92 with about 8" of rain in 5 hours, and after driving around in that, the pump never worked right again, lol. Got a couple years out of it at least. Some pics, lol - embarrassing! Probably a good thing most of the stickers aren't legible ... postimg.cc/tZdxss5H
Right now I have a pair of Viair 400C compressors feeding a similar sized tank in the same location on my Silverado. I had to mount the pumps to the floor, so it took up a bit of space. I installed that setup after blowing a trailer tire 220 miles from home with NO spare, all because I couldn't find a single place that had a working air system! I must've picked up some trash on the shoulder with the right side lead tire, and developed a slow leaker. After exiting the highway 4 times, wasting all of 2 hours searching for a working air system, I gave up out of frustration, and just ran until the tire shredded, 50 miles from my destination. Had a Toyota Tacoma on the trailer. Had to remove the smoldering hot wheel using the truck's OE jack and lug wrench that BARELY fit (way too big!), and then 3-wheeled it up to my destination with the axle hanging down (thankfully it cleared the road!), and back home - close to 300 miles total! :D Ordered that compressor system the second I got home. :) Now it runs the rear air bags, and rear Ox Locker, plus I've got a regulator for air tools, and a direct to pressure line for tires. Great to have on hand.
HAHAHAHAA! I laughed at the 2 in the pink ... Up here, we call that hand gesture, " The Shocker " . I guess because it's such a big hit on first dates ... :0 :D
That's a handy setup ya got there Smitty. Nice to have the equipment when ya need it! 🤘
I've had a smaller one (direct fed from it's own pump - no tank) as long as I've had the van. No such thing as a horn that's too big or too loud - and yes: "that's what she said." :)
Hahaha words of wisdom.
the longest 16 mins of my life
It was intense we deep thought and personal growth.
HAHAHA love it Glen . 👍
It's the country boy in ya Steve. Thanks
Tooting your horn again Oz!? LOL Dang! That's loud!!
Part 2 has the decibel reading. Pass the ear plugs please.
These are more involved than I expected, you need an air compressor. I wonder if you could multipurpose this compressor to run air tools....
Some of the larger air horn setups have 4-8 gallon air tanks. Those could run air tools for short bursts. Most folks with the smaller 2 gallon tanks install an auxiliary air line for airing up tires and party balloons during non Covid times. haha
@@ozzstars_cars - I have the same tank in my truck, but with 2 compressors feeding it. It's enough to run the 1/2" I/R impact gun for enough time to remove a few lug nuts. With the 2 compressors, recovery is pretty fast. Whenever I had a tractor I had to fix stuck out in a field, I'd connect an additional 5-gallon tank to the system. That provided plenty of air to do what I needed to do. The 2 compressors draw some BIG amps, though - 60A at startup! I have fused 6 AWG wire from he battery to the bed, then split in two with each leg feeding each compressor's relay. Best thing I ever did to that truck! Super handy. I've been able to change mower blades on lawn tractors at customer's houses without having to load anything up.
Where did you get the airline from
Online 3/8" amzn.to/3wOvXkp
It's extremely loud. I want one for my Honda.
That would be killer! 😃
rt 1 will never be the same lol jk
I believe the end of part 3 has some RT.1 testing. Haha
