Hi Werglia, nice video. Just One question: why do you feel the game Is Better in real time? The game Is clearly a milestone in crpg but, playing on core, i feel turn based Is difficult but manageble. I mean, i had to cheese some fights (and i hate this but still maybe you can win those fights without cheesing), but the rest Is pure Gold. Oh, and i'm Just in act 3 😅

I can't really dismiss it because I haven't put the time into it yet. I originally pre-ordered the game on Series X, played it for around 5 hours, and then sold it on eBay. Recently I have repurchased the digital version, and it's ready to be played when I get around to it. The problem is Kingmaker was cool, and while it had its issues, it kind of sucked me into the world rather quickly. It felt like it had a good charm, and the level design felt interesting from the get-go. Righteous turned me off because the starting section felt horrible, it just forced through very small sections, and none of the companions I had clicked with me. I started reading dozens of websites, and everyone seemed to have different opinions. Some people were saying Righteous improved on everything. The other side of the coin was saying Righteous was a massive downgrade. Much more linear areas, the dungeons aren't as good, way less enemy variety, and the companions aren't as good. Obviously I can't say if all that is true, but something definitely rubbed off on me the wrong way in it's early hours. Many people are also saying the game falls apart after act 3. If anyone can verify if this stuff is true or not it would be helpful, I feel this reviewer would have more knowledge about this game than anyone.
You got 2000 videos on my channel about WOTR, it is one of the best games ever created. Among those videos you got full review, guides, all encounters as well as all puzzles and boss fights. You should only value opinions of those that spent 200h+ in this game, optimal would be around 500h+.

LOL, Like your newer videos, keep it up. You def., after a review, do more comparisons, like this to the urinalist. Especially since you play the games on the hardest difficulty it provides more insight into how the actual game mechanics work. Because playing on reviewer difficulty, you dont have to do anything.

Problem with game reviewers is that they only get one week with a game and they usually play on easy difficulty to try to beat the game faster to get the work over with. They hate challenge cuz it's making their work harder. We know this cuz it's always an outcry when the next Fromsoft game releases XD

Super happy somebody put my thoughts on lots of reviewers into words. It seems to be the way lots of reviews are made today. Whether its movies, games, or you name it. They sell these horrible reviews that are to often cut and paste reviews about things they know nothing about. Good job also on the new type of video, it was fun to watch.
Eligible roasting of people is always entertaining. I personally don´t read any game critics/reviews anymore for decades now....and you showed me today why I was - and still - I am right to do so. Honestly I don´t even know those sources you took, because I don´t care about them at all, and because I´m old (= that old that from age I could be your father) which means I generally don´t care about opinions published in magazines, newspapers, social media.. and so on... not that much anymore no matter in what sphere of life those are about (gaming , politics, sport, entertainment)..almost all published opinions in all those fields are bought anyway = propaganda Only very few are legit and honest. For instance I take my thoughts about games exclusiv from watching playthroughs in order to decide if a game is for me worth to be played or not = which is always a question of personal taste anyway..I simply don´t follow trends or hypes blindly just because of someone who got payed to tell you to do so.

Something to remember. Most critics are failed creators. People who are getting revenge on an industry for passing them by. There are exceptions, of course, but you can usually count on a reviewer who knows what he's doing not to have recurring cases of "diarrhea of the mouth " while writing reviews. Enjoyed this vid immensely.
My Hat is off to you Werglia for being one of the most solid players of the game, having mastered Unfair. I was playing Hard and eventually settled on Core which fluctuates between steamroll and mostly manageable when you are doing everything right but not super-stacking with things like Skalds. Personally I'm not sure if I would play the game without mass frustration without being able to turn on TB for some fights or portions of fights, but I try to minimize it. I can imagine dying of old-age or boredon before finishing the game using TB 100% of the time. The liberal use of difficulty change thing made me laugh, but I can see how some people would rather just get through the game and get to see the story. I would have asked for a bit more combat and a bit less need for buffing. I think it's probably safe to say that most people who don't have UA-cam channels reviewing the game have put in far less commitment to it than you or cRPG Bro, or Ineffect, or Mortisimal, or WolfheartFPS, Slandered Gaming or Nerdcommander (who seemed to delete all of his content for whatever reason).
The guy saying he turned the combat down from normal (lulz) because there was too much combat at times (facepalm)... These video game journalists are a joke. Thank you Werglia for this video haha. It really shows that no one should ever trust these game site reviews.
since I'm familiar with 3rd Ed d&d and Pathfinder I set up my difficulty as custom to get the closest to tabletop experience, it got pretty rough first few tries. until I remembered the system and made a decent character.
Its not bad to play on story mode. Its bad to judge it based on that. I finished this masterpiece at story mode cause i just wanted to relax ,live the story with no stress since it was a bad period at my life. Still it was a 10/10 for me. I used to play old school crpg like baldurs gate 1-2 so i know how good it is. Its a god damn 12 out of 10 for the dialogues alone
I'm not judging players, everyone can play how they want, but the one that reviews the game and recieves money to play on story mode and then he adds how there is no challenge with low tier mobs, it's blasphemy.

I find most of these media journalists do not have any credibility on verdict of games whatsoever because either they are even not real gamers but writers, or they just get used to Ubisoft can food open question mark cleanup world, general fps shooter or movie interaction game. cRPG is so special that it requires real passion and real cRPG gamer to review it, who will invest efforts, not “speed run” the game and grab money for a contents DDL.

"Too much combat" is the stupidest critique I've ever heard. ALSO he's saying that he changed it from NORMAL to a LOWER difficulty to skip stuff??? Normal makes fights go by in 2s anyway.
I have the EXACT same opinions on the game as you, butttttt I have to admit I think ign giving the game an 8 (at launch especially) is kind of fair. The way I would review the game is; its an 11/10 for me but for non-huge crpg fans its probably closer to an 8. It just isnt a game made to cater to everyone, crpgs are already niche products. So of course the bigger and more complex/difficult the crpg the less mainstream media outlets are going to score it. Its also painfully obvious a lot of the bigger outlets spent much less time and effort on their reviews compared to say a AAA game review, not even to mention if you read carefully most of them didnt even finish the game.
I would have managed to give it a low Score with valid points, but Journos are only able to see the Surface. For me, 200 Hours of tinkering with it have been enough to let it go and just watch your struggle in the PlayThroughs. Maybe I give it another try soon. It should have been long enough to fix most of the problems, I wanted to wait for the Console Version to be really sure that it is on point, and it did release a while ago. I should go look for some Console Gameplay to have a laugh... ^^
With all due respect to MSM "journalists" but who reads their reviews anymore? I look up vids from people who play games extensively for reviews these days. Specialist youtubers for example, particular for non CoD games like cRPGs.
You should have no doubt that the top game journalists have nothing substantive to say about the gameplay aspect of any game they review. For the gameplay elements to be properly tested (how they function, how well balanced they are) you must play on a high difficulty. They never ever do that. This degradation will inevitably happen when you are trying to appeal to a larger audience. That is why in this day and age if you are said to have succeeded in your field (meaning to have aquired a large popularity) it actualy means you are a failure at what you do. If to be popular with the masses means success then success has become a meaningless word.
Bro these "pro" reviewers at all these sites play these kind of games for about 8-10 hours and then they boot up call of duty. Even if they give the game a 1 or a 10 makes no difference cause they barely test or play these kind of games. They have no credibility and most of the gamers know it.
I wish there would be just one difficulty Hard or how ever you wanna call,make it real hard,but possible to do with right tactics,but games need to sell and devs are catering to weaklings :D

Some abilities and feats only work correctly in turn base mode though, since the game is based on turn based table top game
