Good morning Bestie!! Anyway I’m 51 and do you remember when Mr. Rogers would pop the VCR TAPE in and we’d watch something fascinating on how they make this or that or create things? I LOVED that!! So I TOTALLY love you showing your spinning and get you wanting to start from the sheep to the Hank!! Even though very few of us would actually do it, doesn’t mean we wouldn’t enjoy watching it AND seeing how much FUN and JOY you are having is what draws me in!! Watching a content creator posting videos clearing doin things you can tell they do not enjoy turns me off and that is what makes me NOT want to watch!! Truly I watch more for the person and personality sometimes more than I do than the content if that makes sense. Obviously it’s still yarn related. Oh and of course my true crime videos but ya know lol!! YOU have to post what you enjoy or it will show!! Bottom line this is YOUR channel..yes you need US obviously to watch it however if you’re not happy and engaging with what you post you’ll lose viewers and then it’s a vicious cycle!! So basically you do you!! We LOVE you and what you’re doing now is OBVIOUSLY working!! 40k girl!!! ❤❤❤

Yes! I went and looked on the Instagram account to look at the yarn swifts. They are gorgeous!
I told my husband that when the swift I have now stops working (it's just a metal and plastic one off Amazon) I want one of those gorgeous 3D printed resin swifts.
Loving your hair color! Yay for no broken hooks.

Hey Jen!! Just to let you know at least 2 things….#1: so happy to see that purple hair again. I love your hair and I’m a little jealous of its thickness and how you can just do anything with it. #2: I may or may not have gasped and said a little bad word for you when that tray of hooks hit the floor!! OMG 😱 and I was also so grateful when they all survived!! Most of our rooms look a whole lot like yours so no judgement for your besties…we feel you!!! It’s a struggle daily for us all!! Keep up all of the various content because you keep us guessing and make us all want to be adventurous, even if we have to do it vicariously through you. Lol! Have a blessed day!!!

Jennifer, lanolin is amazing and totally organic. That was one of my favorite things when shearing and getting all of that lanolin on my hands. I was a dog groomer for years and my hands were cracked and sore way to much. The lanolin was perfect for that. If the fleece has been skirted (debris picked out) it’s not bad to work with. At least we don’t have to pour hot urine on wool anymore to process it!! (Look up the history of wool processing. It’s also featured in an episode of Outlander!!!)

Whether you are crocheting, knitting, spinning, cleaning or just telling your amazing stories and making us laugh or giggle just happy you are there. I am also thankful you did get a miracle that none of yours broke when they fell. Someone was watching over those hooks. You are going to get SO MANY bee and avocado keychains girl! When you said that, I thought of the one on my purse with a resin D on it and a bee and a yellow tassel. It's so cute but I was going to give it up to you ~ but then I realize I didn't need to give you one because you're going to get a bunch! Besides, you're going to get other stuff from me soon anyway 😊
Watching you clean reminded me of the Herculean task I have ahead of me with my old bedroom, which still looks like Hurricane Ida hit it yesterday instead of almost 3 (!) years ago. That's all I will say about that.

Its been so nice watching you reorganizing your work space. You mentioned you should put little things hanging off those wonderful crochet hook books, take some of those keychains and put a couple on them. Maybe a small one as a zipper pull and another on that little tab on the front, maybe one on the handle? Im glad you didnt have any resin hooks break when they all fell!!
The entire 'pelt' from a sheep or alpaca is called a blanket. Ive processed wool directly from a shearing. Its not just picking poop out but also picking hay, grass, dirt chunks and anything else in a barnyard! Then you wash the wool, gently, to keep it from felting or getting wadded up. Its hot, dirty and lengthy process! Then you have to card the wool to uncurl, unwad and unmatt the wool into batts. THEN you can blend and make rolags and spin the wool into yarn. By the time I got to the rolag process (I didnt have a blending board, just a pair of cards), I was DONE with the whole process. This was before youtube and I had nobody teaching me how to do this, I was just reading. I did manage to spin some yarn from what I had processed but it was knotted and way worse than what you spun that was lumpy bumpy! I tried to crochet the yarn and by the time I had done all that unpleasant part and was looking forward to crocheting my own yarn, I was TERRIBLY DJSAPPOINTED by the crocheted results. I cried and cussed, a lot, along the way. I packed all my supplies away and never tried spinning again. Thats why Im so fascinated watching you accomplish what I had tried and failed at.❤

I do process the wool from shearing to washing, drying.....saw horses and a patio screen works great for that....to carding on a drum carder. I spin from the bat, yes even drop spinning. I took classes to learn how to spin. It is a lot of work, but I enjoy doing it immensely.

In your future yarn room you may want to install a large peg board with hooks to hold your luscious “fluff” braids and balls and other fancy yarn hanks. It would be a great vision wall to inspire your creativity and it may alleviate some of your storage issues that we all share. I’ve been organizing my yarn stash (I have other types of stashes.) and it’s like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic as they say. Good luck and the video was fine in terms of light.

i was thinking as you were talking about storing your fiber... how about hanging peg boards from the sides of your bookcases or on the wall? that way the fiber - and the special yarn skeins - don't get lost and forgotten. home depot has the 48"x24" panels for cheap this week and they can be cut to the size you want. and amazon has the hooks for cheap, too.

Hi there! Boy, you got me itching to spin again. I’ve been crocheting for the past year and I think my wheel is feeling neglected. Lol. I need to find a good source for rolags or roving. I’m currently working on a continuous rectangle granny square blanket that I’m using mandala cake and I must say, it’s one of my favorites. It’s funny, I got into all of this fiber stuff because I showed and trained Border Collies. I did sheep dog trials on an amateur basis but to train the dogs, I needed sheep. Well, sheep needed shearing and because I hate throwing useful stuff away, I learned to clean and spin the wool. I set a goal for myself that I wanted to spin, and knit my own socks. That was a number of years ago and the current sock wip is Tunisian stitches. Thanks for filming. I enjoy listening while I’m working on a wip. Btw. Put fiber art pins on your hook containers. (I need one of those hook containers) Love your channel!!

Ok, I put parts of my fleece in a laundry...laungier..ok holey pull string bag, in hot washer with dawn dish soap. Shut it off and let sit for 45 minutes. Then turn on spin only, take out, refill washer again, let wool sit for 20 minutes, spin dry again, take out and spread on drying screen. Repeat this until whole fleece is cleaned then onto drum carding 😅. For me it really isn't back breaking as the washer does all the work of cleaning. This is how I learned how to process wool from start to finish.

40K subcribers!! Crazy huh? lol Morning sweetheart. This was nice and not stressed (except for the needle dumping 😁), and you made a lot of progress just while we were there. Hope you had fun singing and dancing and putting things away. I too often am afraid of annoying my family or neighbors with my music and singing is almost gone lol. I used to have a good singing voice but got bronchitis when I was 48 and totally lost my voice for awhile and when it came back it has no substance. But I do whisper sing sometimes 🤣😂🤣. Jen most of us are here because we like you, there are hundreds (probably) yarn creators on UA-cam but I don't watch them because they aren't for me. I watch people like Kayla and Nancy (whom you got me watching lol). While I crochet I watch Emily D Baker, and Runkle of the Bailey and Law & Lumber (law nerds). What I am trying to say is "You do you girl" and don't apologize for it. And love means you don't have to say your sorry (quote from an old movie). Much love you and family. Hope you all are having a wonderful day.

My yarn craft supplies resemble yours. I try REALLY hard to organize. Only the good lord knows why I put things where I put them. I get so frustrated looking for stuff I know I have.
