I own a side console Heron-16 and have fished it for the past 4 years. It keeps impressing me and is the best boat I've ever owned. I fish St Augustine FL and have caught some really nice REDs. You can't go wrong with this Skiff. Call Erin and Rory they will make you an Excellent Heron-16! For a guy pushing his late 60's, it is easy to launch and load up when your done. I drive mine right on the trailer and Jump off the Bow keeping my feet high and dry. I pull my Heron with a little Jeep Cherokee and I don't even feel it behind me going down the road, which means you don't need to big 4x4 to go fishing. I have a E-TEC 60 that sips gas, seems like I put 20 bucks of fuel, get to fish 4 or 5 times.
Mel builds an awesome boat, the 1444 can run from there at limehouse to bohicket creek area on 3gal of fuel and get ankle shallow! Gotta have good balance to get up on the platform but what you expect from a 14 footer
I've been guiding mine since 2017 and I have zero complaints. On personal time I take it to the everglades and the panhandle under pole. I'm rough on skiffs and she's held up perfectly. So has my Tohatsu 50. I got 38mph once with the Tohatsu and a powertech..
Great job Capt Connor!
