WATCHED A 100 IF I'VE WATCHED 1, VIDEOS ON FAN/CLUTCH, BELT TENSIONER etc... This i saw just AFTER i messed my bolts up trying myself. Good video, nice, simple, NOT OVER TALKATIVE like most. Geeze for the other guys with long winded video commentations, this is a good example of the correct way to commentate a video DIY.
Good video guys! Now I can see what to look forward to this weekend. Changing my pump to hopefully solve a no heat issue and hoses don't get even close to the temp of 210 or so. Videos help thanks..!
Appreciate the tips I haven't done this in a long time. I was trying to barter some work with my mechanic but they want to charge me an arm and a leg.. really breaks my heart when people try to take advantage of me pisses me off when he's mechanics try to make four hundred bucks an hour
When I didn't do something myself, I went to a gentleman who I've known for 20 years now, someone who I could trust and didn't give me a bunch of BS. He's retiring, now what!?
Good Video. Good explanation. Yea, he might have went past a radiator petcock but he didn't play crappy dub step music in the background! Keep up the good work Mreinsmith!
Forget the tool. Hold the bolts with a strap wrench. Grab a pipe wrench for the fan clutch....one good whack of a hammer towards the passenger side. Never failed me.....a 5'3 girl.
Wasn't impressed that had so much trouble getting fan shroud off. Elaborating on how to remove the fasteners wasn't necessary. The fan shroud comes off very easily without needing to remove the fan. The fan shroud on mine can be disassembled by removing two bolts on the bottom and the lower piece detaches so shroud can be lifted around fan. When he attempted to lift the shroud and fan together gave me a good laugh. Also it lifts out nicely if you disconnect the upper radiator hose from radiator.
Seems harder to replace lower rad hose than water pump. Gotta get that fork tool. 120,000 on '03 5.4 going strong. Every spring Drain & refill 50/50 w distilled helps. NOT TAP WATER
My 99 5.4 liter makes noise only while accelerating for a few seconds , i here the sound coming from the water pump pulley area . The water pump hasn’t been changed for a very long time
if I am remembering correctly 05 was the last year for that version of the 5.4, so it should be the same, do a quick search on ford triton 5.4 engine to verify
As a driveway mechanic, one thing I've learned over the years is that you definitely need to read the manual BUT you also need to peruse forums and videos for tips like yours. Thanks for the tip, hopefully it saves someone some busted knuckles :-)
I needed to know how to get that fan off the w/pUmp.Thanks for saving a lot of us a lot of $$$.:-)
Did replacing fix the heat problem?

This is GREAT !!!! ... I would have dumped the coolant from the radiador prior to start. But this is AWESOME. That fan is sure on the way.

Perfect! Just what I needed, fast and to the point. Thanks.

Thanks for commenting, much appreciated!
mreinsmith I used your video advice to fix my water pump today. You made some good pointers. Thanks.

I've already forgotten it 😉🙂
Thanks for all the great feedback, much appreciated!
Outstanding job on the process and tips to get this job done effecently
Thanks for commenting, glad we could help!
great video ..thanks a million and god bless
thanks, doing mine today.
I wasn't a big Ford fan either at first....but that was 411,000 miles ago. Just saying....
I'm surprised too
the brand new pump looks beautiful. Thanks for the video
Thanks for the good content! Good job!!!
Thanks
All I need to know is how to get the fan clutch off and you really did a very good job explaining that. Thanks so much.
wouldn't have been wise o drain the cooling system before removing the water pump.
the petcocks do not drain all fluids from the engine. so in the end you will still have antifreeze leaking out of the water pump as you remove!!!!!!!
@@richarddowner4292 still more sensible than this method.
Thanks bro..helped us out alot! Good job!

Good tip, laughter is good medicine!
Thank you very much.

Cool thanks for the video..

have navigator but I'm having a leak behind my crank shaft is that bad water pump
Caleb Lopez your pump is leaking behind the crankshaft pulley. Bad water pump mine is doing it too. Replacing mine tomorrow.
buen maestro
great video thank you so much By any chance do you have the part number of the fan removal tool?????
My 2008 expedition is at 230000 and runs like new
2016 Expedition replacement water pump
Do I have to torque because I don't have a torque wrench
seems like the hardest part of this job is getting that damn fan off
Always is. Every car!!
skulledmonte84 no, the hard part was putting the fan on with the plastic in the way
It be nice if you had a light so you can see
I couldn't afford one, that's why I work on my own cars!.... 😉😁
@@mreinsmith 🤣
My question is what is the name of that tool your using
Is this generally the same for a 2005 model?
Is this the same process for a 05 Lincoln navigator 5.4L?
if I am remembering correctly 05 was the last year for that version of the 5.4, so it should be the same, do a quick search on ford triton 5.4 engine to verify
Torque spec: 18.5 ft lbs
Ft pounds or inch pounds?
Why are you taking all these parts off? You do not have to do that. Just take the fan off and take the water pump out!!!!!!
As a driveway mechanic, one thing I've learned over the years is that you definitely need to read the manual BUT you also need to peruse forums and videos for tips like yours.
Thanks for the tip, hopefully it saves someone some busted knuckles :-)
what the name of that tool you used to loosen the flan
jonathan gomez Why is water coming from My exhaust
Water coming from my head gasket
Fan clutch
Chocolate flan ?
Does it work for a 2008 expedition
It might be, they updated that motor series in 2004 I think, but I don't think that changed
The belt is routed slightly different on the 2008 model but the procedure looks about the same.
Is it work?
Is that English?
Why wouldn't you drain the coolant first? I would flip s*** if you did that on my truck.
I did something very similar, new plans from Avasva helped me with this.
Niagara Falls
Hire a new camera guy? Lol. Half the time I couldn't even see what you were doing.
You can find best solutions on Avasva website.
Nice job.
But this another reason I will not own a Ford
Because an old water pump failed?
Yet you're watching a Ford repair video
Did. In 2015. Why cause my daughter purchased a money pit of a SUV.
Mine finally failed last night at 246k miles. Original pump. "Another reason I will not own a Ford" gah-huuk 😂🥴
