This is an ORIGINAL HorrorBabble Production.
I quite like this story. It somehow feels more concisely written than many of James' works and honestly I think the pacing benefits from a bit less meandering. Great reading, as always.
I have to agree Joshua - I've always enjoyed this one for that very reason. Ian
Great story and narration! I like how James uses a michevious or very inquisitive kid as one of, if not the, main characters in some of his stories.
Thanks!
Woah. This was unusually dark for M.R. James. I know he has some of his adult characters meet unfortunate ends after meddling with things they shouldn't, but this... wow. But the story and your reading of it are both excellent!
This is the first story by M. R. James that I ever read. I love how this story combines several themes to produce a very strong effect.
Best yet, in my opinion
Brilliant as always, thank you very much!! P.S the HorrorBabble T-shirt I ordered just got shipped and is on its way down under!! I can't wait!!
Well done...Ian you should enter a CreepyPasta contest!!

M.R. James is new to me, but great story. Thanks for all the great work Ian

@ DAVID fulkner I LOVE M.R. JAMES...YOU MUST GO BACK INTO THEIR STORIES AND HEAR MORE .
The movie is incredible to me ...watched it many times
Good one thank you for posting Really like the illustration It would make a Great poster / print
This totally blew me away, hadn't heard it yet
This one I always thought was a bit grisly even for Monty, a mild mannered university don with a macabre side of his personality. A good story though.

Love the artwork.
Just started the story.... my birthday is 9/11
So what's with the art in this one? It seems to be made by the same artirst as the one who made Temple of Memory art. Not that I'm not complaining or anything I'm just curious. It's really good and interesting. Will this be put on the store too?
The artist (M. Grant Kellermeyer) is credited in the video description. He produces lots of images based on the classics. We use them with his permission. The Temple of Memory piece however, he produced especially for the story - and so that's the only one we have the rights to sell.
@@HorrorBabble Thank you sir.

Hey Horrorbabble. Its me again. I don't mean to be a bother but it also occurred to me that "SCP"s may also be something that would be at home on your channel. Hope your well.
Thanks for the suggestion Kristian. Although I do like some of the concepts explored by the SCP Foundation, I think those works are better suited elsewhere. Our friend Morgan Scorpion tackled a few actually: ua-cam.com/users/MorganScorpion
