The subtle humor in this tale was perfectly executed in your reading. I particularly liked the rallying speech about there being no German in the room with 5 vs 1 even if there was. I actually laughed out loud at that. Thumbs up again!

Seems like M.R. James being a medievalist was particularly fascinated by Scandinavian history and sets a great deal of his stories in there.

Being used to horror stories from around the world, I was quite amazed to find this story, that takes place in a city, only 20 kilometers from where I live.
