Depression is realizing the absurdity, getting therapy is having someone talk you into carrying on the charade and be grateful
;-)
Spot on
Capitalist system which prevails now is making life absurd for majority of people . To save oneself from absurdity one needs to creat a meaning in meaningless life , but how if there’s no luck to find a meaning , only religion which sucks and illusion
Being aware of the absurdity of life helped me to get out of depression. Everything is so meaningless... Why am I going to care?
@@Carlos-ke3pj exactly buddy
For the life of me, I cannot imagine Sisyphus happy.
May be Sisyphus is conscious...
"Consciousness of life is higher than life, the knowledge of the laws of happiness is higher than happiness"-that is what to be contend against.
Quote from the dream of ridiculous man - by Fyodor dostoevsky.
I wish you well for your happiness ....
Sisyphus may find solace not in the summit but in the very act of pushing his boulder. Perhaps, in absurdity, consciousness becomes the lead partner, guiding us through the steps of meaning and purpose. As Dostoevsky's words echo may our intelectual ballroom be ever filled with profound reflections.
Sisyphus was never intended to be the guy jumping for joy that has an easy life. He is the image of dogged determination.
No different than going to work every day.
Life itself is just an experience! We’re born unwillingly, and die unexpectedly; enjoy every moment - Pedro Demeritte
the point ;-)
Camus' absurdism is an antidote to our current dystopian milieu. Thank you so much for this podcast. If you feel moved to create more podcasts on his work, I would love to hear your thoughts and insights on his book "Create Dangerously: the Power and Responsibility of the Artist"and on his general views on making art in trying/dangerous times.
Hi @cerulleal as e. Danticat quote "To create dangerously, for those who read dangerously. That is what it means to be a writer."
;-) seem dangerous for you tube ,
But Thank you for your suggestion! "Create Dangerously" is indeed a thought-provoking collection of essays by Albert Camus. i'll hopefully creating a podcast episode inspired by the ideas presented in these essays. welcome to the channel
Awesome video. Just discovered the channel and looking forward to more videos.
@OrdnanceLab Welcome to the explosive side of UA-cam, @OrdnanceLab Delighted to have you on board. While your channel brings ordnance to life, I'm still figuring out if I need a missile or just a really profound quote to make my content explode. Let's see if philosophy can match the blast radius of your explosivesLooking forward to more 'explosive' content from both our worlds. ;-) #ExplosivePhilosophy #BlastsOfWisdom"
Absurd Existence is a lack of Self Esteem and Willpower. No matter what.
Great podcast thanks ❤
Thanks for listening
😂😂😂
Indeed, outstanding as it is timely.
It takes great effort to produce such dense wisdom so accessible and understandable.
Tools for the trade.
I'll take 3.
@@Madasin_Paine Thank you for the kind words! We're delighted to hear you're considering taking three episodes. But be warned, after the third one, you might find yourself pondering the meaning of life in your sleep! 😄 Enjoy the philosophical journey!" 🎙

Great podcast! Congrats 👏🏼👏🏼 I’ve seen many materials about Camus and this podcast surprised me by its very high quality and your ability to describe his work clearly, making it simple to understand. A quick help… I’m not a native English speaker, and cc would help a lot. I also would like to fwd it to some people I know would be interested in the content, but they only speak Portuguese. Would be possible to have subtitles in Portuguese? I can help if possible 👊🏼
Glad you enjoyed it, cc portuguese done but i will delete many videos and remake and improve them

You’ve got an 8 second dead spot starting at 2:40. Also, try dropping the whispery voice, there’s something inauthentic sounding about it.
hi @dbuck1964 & thank you for feedback u r right about the dead spot at 2:40 and this episode was produced during my first month on UA-cam, so my audio skills were still a work in progress. I appreciate your understanding
@@mindphilo whatever, I like your voice.
@@paultaylor914 me too !
@@paultaylor914 paul got offended for someone else, even tho the mild critique was taken well by the uploader.
Camus thought because LIFE WAS ABSURD and transient, it must be enjoyed to the full at one's abandon without the inhibitions of social norms and moral laws. So, when his mother died, he couldn't stop himself from gratifying his urge to SMOKE and drink coffee, something frown upon by his society. His alienation was a classic expression of the fact that one cannot live within and without society and be a stranger.
SARTRE on the other hand, is a RATIONALIST and knew society and people are bound by reason. For him, things don't just happen and he chose to be on the side of the weak.
Thanks
Welcome
good ride
thank you
The fact there is no point is the point. The stoics say what stands in the way becomes the way. Camus is cool too.
indeed
Nice Voice ………🌞
Too little Sartre or Camus for the student to make independent analysis - but keep talking.
ha
@lauraboyd2164 the exquisite art of preferences! While some relish the existential depth of Camus, others opt for the ephemeral allure of Kardashian butt dramas.
Good content but I find the narration to be a bit too monotone.
yeah @BitterDawn
Thanks for checking out the content! I hear you on the narration, and I appreciate the feedback. It's something I've been mindful of, and I can assure you that as I continue improvement
@@mindphiloI like it, personally.
@@mindphilo l totally read that in your whispery voice😊
