Remember when Cenk started? how dry he was? "Here is this feature... I will show you this now" He's really grown into his role now and makes great presentations.
Elektron Digitakt - Just watched the presentation... Fun "little" machine - brings back the spontaneity, experimentation, embracing the "limitations" for more creativity... Good and different way of exploring ideas and track creation as opposed to the seriousness and limitless possibilities of the DAW. :)
This video has sold me the Digitakt and has allowed me to get introduced into it very quickly when I received it yesterday. Already making tunes!! Love it!! Thank you
I watch Cuckoo's videos at 1.5x speed (same as with Bob Ross videos). BoBeats at normal speed. But Cenk I have to slow down the video to 0.75x speed... sometimes 0.5x.
Excellent work Cenk and Elektron on the video. Very clear, very well shot and edited. I don't agree with many of the choices on this box (or the last or overbridge) but this is heads and shoulders above past videos.
Cenk is the Bob Ross of electronic music. Btw it would be nice if the loop on a sample could be ping ponged, like you could on tracker programs like Modplug and Fasttracker.
what a sick video! really perfectly presented! the sound you had going just before going back into safe mode was insane, i wish you played it longer haha
This is the best I've seen on the Digitakt so far. Other videos have been impressive but confusing. Granted, he makes it look easy because he is an expert on the beast, but it's so powerful that I just might learn the dreaded Elektron Werkfloh. BTW, Swedes pronounce "digital" as "diggy-tal". Anglophones say "dijjy-tal". So to me it shall be pronounced "dijjy-takt". Because I am culturally insensitive.
Nice one Cenk! Just getting ready to sample some live sax and trombone, already have a full folder of Jomox Xbase09 drum samples that I use on most everything, well done :)
Hellcore +1 on a MIDI feature video. I think that is what a lot of us have been waiting to see. Can you use a external MIDI keyboard to live record MIDI notes/chords? It is it only step sequenced?
They can't because it's bugged, using midi tracks makes the Digitakt freeze up, happens on mine and is well documented by users but no response from Elektron yet.
I repeat, dude ur a legend... ur a fuckin genius, after this video (and b4 it also) I want this product so bad... sadly im just gonna miss out on it cause its no avail yet and go for the drumbrute but damn what I really want is this... compact and can do everything... its the perfect companion
This machine is the musical equivalent of using a typewriter in 2020. It is vastly inferior to what any modern DAW is capable of, the workflow is slow, it’s time consuming to learn, it requires a great deal of learning and patience, BUT despite all these shortcomings, it’s beautiful, highly desirable and it has infinite charm. 😍 just hearing the clicking of the sequencer buttons makes me want to run out and buy one.
i bought one. and i can say that i make music on it more often than on a DAW before. Because it feels much better to twist knobs and push buttons, it's like a toy. i watch tv in the background while playing with digi. and 2 out of 3 times I get really nice results. THEN I out it through my DAW to mix and/or add same layers. But honestly this is my first hardware and it's amazing. The only thing is i wish it was stereo.
Apologies to the many Elektron fan bois and grrls out there, I'm not try no to be flippant or hate on the Digitakt. But I just don't get it. It feels like a step back in time thirty years. To a time of tiny screens and click click clickity click to enter a file name. There's no question the Elektron sampler is the best available and unquestionably amazing. It seems to me, admittedly a layman, that a lot f R and D and dev resources (read cost) went into features that would be better performed on a desktop workstation. I get that these features make it portable, but at what cost, and how much demand is there for that use case, compared to a solely studio setting. Is there functionality that allows the heavy grunt work to be performed on a desktop then imported into the Digitakt? To me that would be playing to the strengths of each system. Again not trying to be a hater, just asking questions as someone who has been recommended to look into this device by several people now. Cheers
Funny. Have had an MPC live 2 for 6 months and never got a workflow that was good for me. Have had a Digitakt for a day and I instantly regret dicking around with my Akai.
curious about midi sequencing. So many reviews about sampling... Can you play in MIDI notes with an external synth? Then, of course, have the synth playback the notes from the digitakt sequencer. So the Digitakt becomes the center of the studio much like an MPC... Thanks!
We need an update to the polyphonic abilities, we'd like to play chords please, this can't be that difficult of an update it already has 8 voice polyphony, please don't limit the products so that we have to use your other machines to get around the limitations b/c we are still willing to buy your other awesome devices but we'd like max functionality for all your instruments. Thank you. 🙂🎹🤘🏽🤛🏽
that option alone of choosing function and no to return to the original settings of the sequence has been on my dreams for years, that to me is a reason to buy this machine. does this function exist on the other elektron gear?
I'm looking for a machine like this or MPC one. What is the principle difference in workflow between Digitakt and MPC? Can I sample long track on Digitakt and then chop the samples and play them live by hitting the buttons as I would do on MPC? I'm interested in sampling and making music of samples, can I use all 16 buttons to play live?
I find myself waking at 3am to go into studio because of this machine,,,,, 😳❤️
Incredible presentation that immediately sells this hugely powerful machine. Great job Cenk.
Hi this is Cenk, i'm here to jeopardize your bank account and private life.
No joke, I'm willing to risk my current debts just to get this machine.
my life just got hi jacked. now a pandemy may come and I'll be for always happy in my flow with the DT
this is the best product introduction I have ever seen.
that has just absolutely blown my mind!
Yes Bro, Do you use it?
Remember when Cenk started? how dry he was? "Here is this feature... I will show you this now" He's really grown into his role now and makes great presentations.
Are you his mother?
Yes but don't tell anyone.
"I will show you this now" lol man that was my favorite line of his. So serious and straight to the point haha.
He secretly plays for Everton when he's not making videos.
@@monkeytheohe is a good boy
Thanks for making such awesome gear, Elektron people. We love you.

this pitch to the max change u made is pure genious
And this is what you call a bloody good product demo!!
This video has sold me the Digitakt and has allowed me to get introduced into it very quickly when I received it yesterday. Already making tunes!! Love it!! Thank you
5 years later should I buy one? Or the MPC or Polyend
Cenk is a really good guy!! respect to him
I watch Cuckoo's videos at 1.5x speed (same as with Bob Ross videos). BoBeats at normal speed. But Cenk I have to slow down the video to 0.75x speed... sometimes 0.5x.

I know right! and even for Cenk 4:03 was fast
Try 0.25, it's trippy beyond words. :D
lol why speed up bob ross? it's so peaceful at his pace
@@alexfarzan1120 Um…some people are actually learning to paint!! Haha
I love the global pitch up/pitch down feature on Digitakt. It opens up whole other worlds for patterns 🎛

Essential digitakt demo
Hey Cenk, brilliant video thanks for posting. So pumped for mine to arrive here in Australia!

this looks fantastic. i look forward to the Digitakt being my first Elektron instrument!
Did you buy one? 6 years later I’m looking at this instrument or the MPC maybe the Polyend
@@FluxFreeman nope. I have a Force and an MPC One now! Force in particular is incredible.
@@suitandtieguy yea the Force looks dope. I started out with a 2000XL. Saving and loading via floppy disc. The thing sounded like a fax machine

Nice one Cenk! Just getting ready to sample some live sax and trombone, already have a full folder of Jomox Xbase09 drum samples that I use on most everything, well done :)
Quite a sophisticated sound design machine - I like it- there are enough toys and standard beat machines out there
This is most crazy machine i ever seen.Just briliant!!
The chords sound like the end of Cirrus, by Bonobo, same key even!
The look on Cenk's face starting at 10:34 is why I bought this machine. I want that look on my face too.
You are the first video I've seen do anything interesting. .Prior to this I seen no reason people were into it
When it comes to chopping up a sample, it's a great pain in the ass. The digitakt is great for just beat making with one shots.
Damn it. I was gonna get a vermona... And you come out with this bad boy. To the bank we go again
that max pitch was the ace up his sleeve
Would be really nice to get a vid on the MIDI features. :)
Hellcore soon :)

Dude, Mr. Dataline is fucking amazing!
it's always pretty helpful to have musicians demo a machine not sales guys.
Nice, this seems to have more features than I thought
I may have missed the information but can the samples be played chromatically via midi ?
Yes you can
Great to know, thanks
I love you Cenk
Nice ! The Digitakt is really inspiring fun machine to use!
so ace

It is amazing. Could we perform these with Analog Rytm as well?
Minor point but would love some rubber buttons. Much nicer to jam on.
Thanks cenk for this video, it seems more simple but can you make all of it with an AR ?

Hey, Elektron. Could you make a device for normal people that dont wish to mess with overcomplicated interfaces?
Get a snare drum, and a piano.
Just kidding, the over complicated interfaces, are a compromise between, features and ease of use.
Model:Samples is already here
Nah, they'd rather make instruments for people who have the commitment and drive to learn how to make music using exceptional interfaces.
I saw this video and ordered one on B&H lol. But it seems to be a preorder I guess they are not out yet?

can you record live? As in record a guitar track to on top of a beat coming from the same machine at the same time.
