Good review. It does look bigger than a 125 I can't imagine spending that much money on a learner bike, though. Get your licence on a banger and then spend the cash on something you'll really enjoy.
i have a question when you wanna rev the bike while riding or stopped can you do it in first soth the clutch in and just give her gas? or how does it work
What's the top speed of these? When I was 17 in the late 80s we were all riding 125 2-strokes which should have been 12bhp but we all derestricted them and they were doing over 90.
Good review for not generally liking light bikes, the lack luster “ok” after getting on the gas was a chuckle. Is it just us Americans that say. 1-25 versus 1-2-5? I’m surprised Yamaha has never brought back the 175 as popular it was. The bike does look bigger than a 125 and it’s a sharp looking bike, I bet that thing would be fun as a barrel of monkeys if it were a 2 stroke.
2 stroke de restricted yes restricted no. In the UK we can only have 15hp on L plates. Also can't ride a 175cc on q learner license so it's a bit pointless having a full license for 50cc extra. People often even skip the 250cc bikes.
@@chrishart8548not everyone lives under those restrictions, my first bike when I was 16 was a 175 then a 650 but I could have started on any size cc I wanted.
To be honest a restricted 125 2 stroke was not that great. De restricted they were not legal on a learners license. But they were bloody fantastic in de restricted form. But then why not get a 250 350 400 etc why have a 125cc.
@@chrishart8548 here in Jersey C.I. our licence goes like this, 16 years 50cc, 17 years 125cc, 18 years unlimited after holding a light full motorcycle licence for a year, you can then jump on any bike you want after that, we don't have licences like you do on the mainland, at 18 I had a fireblade 954 as my first big bike, at 17 on a two stroke 125 that hit over a ton, was bloody brilliant
This isn't a go at you of course you can only tell us the numbers but I got a 22 yamaha tracer 9gt with bells and whistles and panniers plus added the back box for just over 11k. You can't tell me this is work over 5k 🙈 😳 the traceris 10x the bike for double the money. Sure it'd a fun brilliant 125 but just too expensive
I didn't really have any to give on it. My own personal opinion of I'm being picky is that it's quite expensive but it's all relative so what is expensive to one person isn't really expensive to another.
£5k wow for only 14hp. You can get a few nice used 600-1000 kawasaki 636,ninja 650,z650, Yamaha mt07,xsr700, gen1 mt09, triumph 675 r,765 R, suzuki sv650,gsxr 600,750, 1000, honda cb600f hornet, cb650f,650R,cb1000r,cbr600rr Ktm 690,790 Even a ducati monster 696 Moral of the story is theres options USED for that price all listed are more bike for the money. And notice they're 600cc minimum
@@chrishart8548 this is insane also its true and it allows those who Barely have a licence to experience the "sport bike feel" and get the astetics of one. I personally don't feel that cbt should allow people to ride bikes (you don't even need a theory) this is dangerous. I dont know if you're in the U.K but these food delivery riders and just those on cbt ride sooo dangerously and lack of skill and understanding is apparent. Example even thier filtering and slow speed manoeuvres they hang thier legs and wobble while trying to get through gaps. Also if there's a full licence rider and a cbt rider the cbt rider will only take the gap once they see the full licence owner do it and then follow thier line through the traffic I see this a lot also. I genuinely don't respect moped riders I don't acknowledge them. I see them as bike license rejects.

Nothing wrong at all with modern 125s but over 5k for any 125 is taking the piss. Very few 17 year olds have that kind of money to drop on their first bike, and most riders with more experience and more licence privileges than just a CBT and more disposable income would probably overlook it in favour of an RC390, or maybe a cheap CBR600. Not denying it's a good bike but based on price alone, this bike belongs nowhere.
Exactly thats why i like lexmoto, they know its ridiculous and make not ridiculously expensive bikes so you can focus on getting a 600 or 400 when you upgrade your license so you can get more value for money

It looks a little-tall for a small-bike . Dave NZ
Re the R125. To answer your question, I think it does look more 400cc. Can I ask, what was screen like for wind protection, any good? And on the bike did it sound better or same as most 125cc?
Tks
Neil
I think he had been having a few practice laps the way he shot off round the bendy bits. 😂😂 when you get invited out again and the lead out rider pulls over don’t stop. Drop-it a cog get down behind bars and leave them for dead. 😮 did I just say that out loud.😂😂great review I wish was 17 again all I had was a Yamaha RD125 LC .
He's a crazy Dutch man, no one is keeping with him 🤣🤣🤣
@@UsernameKate when he was just a dot in the distance I thought it was lamb chops thinner less rounded foreign cousin. 😬
I think Yamaha should use the body of Exciter 155/Y16ZR with this engine. I think people can find it practical in your country. It's basically almost fully upgraded Honda Cub 125 in a nutshell.
Is it good for everyday use or will the mt125 be better?
Including highways and urban areas
hello im 17 im looking for a nice starter 125 as it would be my first im 6ft3 i dont know my inside leg and im curious if this would be any good for me?
Is it possible to adjust the handlebars make the handlebars slightly higher has dont want the handlebars to low looking for comfort has im 54 years off age hope you can help me has im looking to purchase the r125 providing i can do all off thee above just mentioned hope you can help thanks wayne great video
I need to get a test ride on it.
Good review. It does look bigger than a 125 I can't imagine spending that much money on a learner bike, though. Get your licence on a banger and then spend the cash on something you'll really enjoy.
It goes without saying but theres also another version of this which is the R15M, more power, and a lot of features as well. Sadly its SEA only
where can i buy the tankpads? These on the sides
Nice looking bike, but it costs almost as much as I just paid for my 2023 Ninja 650! Why so much for a 125!?
Because Yamaha charge extra for some reason ..
Slipper clutch only so much protection.
Is this the same engine that is in the xsr/mt’s?
Yes and the wr125
Suits you, sistah! 👍
i have a question when you wanna rev the bike while riding or stopped can you do it in first soth the clutch in and just give her gas? or how does it work
If you mean just to rev it to make a revving noise when riding, you can pull the clutch in in any gear to do it and gently release it 😊
What's the top speed of these? When I was 17 in the late 80s we were all riding 125 2-strokes which should have been 12bhp but we all derestricted them and they were doing over 90.
They'll do around 80 gps top speed
Please reveiw a fantic 125, twice the bike for a similar price.
Is this available in the United States?
Is it just like a grom? Better, fun wise, hooligan fun?
I love the mechanics of this bike but I like bikes that look like motorcycles...can't a street bike do both without breaking Ft, Knox?
will never compare to the 2 stroke era such as the nsr 125, cagiva mito 125, aprilia rs125 etc those were weapons back in the day
To be honest a restricted 125 2 stroke was not that great. De restricted they were not legal on a learners license. But they were bloody fantastic in de restricted form. But then why not get a 250 350 400 etc why have a 125cc.
33hp Cagiva Mito... Yum.
And Aprilia 250 frame sized Futura... Gorgeous!
I wonder if it would be possible to get more power out of the engine
Meh just get an r3 or r7
Actually 15hp for a 125cc 4 stroke is good a 250cc.4 stroke tends to make 23hp in the crf250L
When will it come to Bangladesh?
Is this motorcycle available in the states
sadly the R125 is primarily a European exclusive model due to certain restrictions apparently
@Cladcreeper 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Wish it looked more aggressive than like beginnerey if ya get me
Am 5foot 10 am I 2tall for it
You may be too young to remember the Cagiva Mito - - -
This isn't a go at you of course you can only tell us the numbers but I got a 22 yamaha tracer 9gt with bells and whistles and panniers plus added the back box for just over 11k. You can't tell me this is work over 5k 🙈 😳 the traceris 10x the bike for double the money. Sure it'd a fun brilliant 125 but just too expensive
The 125s hold value very well so a learner can just sell it on with almost no loss.
I just Love this Bike. But it´s so expensive
I hate the headlights makes it very hard for car drivers to see you. Suprised you didnt give any negatives about the bike.
I didn't really have any to give on it. My own personal opinion of I'm being picky is that it's quite expensive but it's all relative so what is expensive to one person isn't really expensive to another.
£5k wow for only 14hp. You can get a few nice used 600-1000
kawasaki 636,ninja 650,z650,
Yamaha mt07,xsr700, gen1 mt09, triumph 675 r,765 R,
suzuki sv650,gsxr 600,750, 1000, honda cb600f hornet, cb650f,650R,cb1000r,cbr600rr
Ktm 690,790
Even a ducati monster 696
Moral of the story is theres options USED for that price all listed are more bike for the money. And notice they're 600cc minimum
Even on the used market 125's are more than 600's it's the fact you don't need a license to ride a 125 just a cbt.
@@512460 I am in the UK
@@chrishart8548 oh nice then you can probably relate to the points I made.
Looooki enuff
Bella moto e bella ragazza, solo che le moto come la vecchia rs Aprilia o la cagiva mito se la mangiavano a colazione .Pero per essere un modello 15 cv è il top di gamma
Stress reliever 🥹 My dream bike but I didn't have enough to buy this bike 🥲 hey ma'am can you shout out me in your the next video , I'm from in the Philippines
A bit late but what 125 do you recommend?
R15 with 155cc is cost 2.5k (USD) in my country. Even 250cc bikes are only cost 4k.
Lol they gave it VTEC 😂😂😂
Basically 🤣
Back in mar day 1996😂. I had a Cagiva mito 7 speed ,Full power 2 smoke.
Kids of this generation have well and truly missed the boat imo
Covering the clutch became instinctive🧨💥🤣
Crazy how they're asking 6k for this thing
And couldn't even put some effort in making the fork and triple tree nuts black
What about R15
unfortunately the r15 isn't a thing in the uk as the maximum cc for younger people is 125cc
Lovely looking bike ,I know it's a 125 but the noise your microphone is picking up 😢 would damage my earing even more than it is,
Great thing for new riders,
Why buy a 125cc for 6k when a used R3 is away cheaper or even a R7 are about 7k. Doesn't make sense and a mt 09 are 9k!!!
In india 150cc power 13,14 Ps but 125cc Yamaha
I have r15
Hello
I'd rather buy 2 x voge r125s for the same price.
My 2014 R125 was _SOOOO_ much faster than my brand new (2021) R125.
Interesting!! I never rode the older one!
@@UsernameKate I think, perhaps, it is intentionally limited. But my old 2014 would do 96 ... Not that I would advise you holding it there for a prolonged period of time. But my new bike doesn't want to even get close. I think 83 has been the highest speed I've had, thus far. No head wind at all, because as any 125 owner will tell you; Strong head wind = Be lucky if you go above 60.
I do ride 125s when I can, don't turn anything down on this channel if it has 2 wheels :)
@@UsernameKate Bought my 2021 R-125 (new) strictly for commuting to work. If I take a car, or get a lift, its 40 minutes (absolute bare minimum) there and 40 back. On my little 125 the same journey takes me 12 to 15 mins. But I am about to pull the trigger on a 2024 R7 ...
_SO EXCITED!_
Get in!! The torque is AWESOME!! 🙌🙌
Omg.. i built a pit bike for my 4 year old with a 150 in it. Any bike under 600cc is a waste of money. You end up payibg for a bike that mimics a super bike but sounds like garbage and behaves like garbage. But each to their own
It's called R15 v4 in India 😅
in the uk its only a 125cc not a 150cc
@@UsernameKate that's way cooler
Price will be cheaper too
my 17 y/o ass finna get this thats fo sure.
2019 Model is way better IMO.. if your interested in a YZFR125 go Save yourself some money and buy one secondhand Gen3 2019 model with around 2k miles on the Tank. Buy a custom numberplate and put in a few mods such as:
*Avapok exhaust
*Brambo breaks
*Öhlins suspension
*NGK spark plugs
*Pirrelli performance Tyres
*wack in some Motul performance OIL.
*Then get it customised wrapped and wack on a few stickers 😊
And get it Tuned at a garage.
and you got yourself a BadA** 125cc that can outperform a 300cc's on Track day that would be cheeper then the 2023 version and looks, Sounds and feels way better then the 2023 model.
My YZF-R125 gets more looks then when I ride my ZX6R or Hyabusa (Non Turbo project bike)
It’s a nice bike but anyone who spends that kind of money on a bike you can’t even pass a proper test on in this day and age must be insane. 15bhp is 15bhp regardless of how good looking it is or how trick it is.
Yeah they were ok if you were going to ride for a year or two and then take your test. But now you have to pass on a bigger bike I'd just go straight for that bigger bike.
Way too much for something you'll be itching to upgrade.
I lost £700 on my 125 that I had for two years and it only cost me £1700 when prices weren't stupid. I was mad at losing that amount never mind what you'd lose on these.
@@letni9506 £700 for 2 years use is less than £1 a day I would be over the moon with that. If at 17 all you can have till your 19 what else can you do than have a 125. There is no option to upgrade
Exactly, no point in comparing performance between 125s when you can get 600s for the same price or cheaper
If I'm going to be completely honest the r125 2023 is a degrade from the 2019-2022 version
be honest you are not 5'4.
5'2 max
🤣 I'm definitely 5ft4. It's funny, people usually say I look taller in my videos... not shorter! 😬😅
ABS?
Yes
125cc it's like 0,125 Beer, you won't quench your thirst and you won't get drunk, that's almost nothing ;))
