If I was 17 again, I'd love one.
In fact, I wish I was 17 again, all those new experiences still to come..
    Super bike.
    Safe, happy travels 👍

It's ridiculous they sell the same bike with 155cc in India for less than 1800, which is a third of the price here in the UK.

It's not Yamaha fault mate, it's the EU regulation. I too used to think that way, but I'm fortunate enough to experience the motorcycle market here in Asia and southeast Asia, haven't been back to Europe in 6 years they just make everything complicated and waste of money in my opinion

@@tedjoslavianus1817 Even with all the factors considered, I still think they are trying to rip off EU customers. If you were to import the Indian model to uk, 1.5k + 1k shipping + 30% tax is about £3000.

The 155 is $6300 on the road in Australia (black and white TFT screen) inc our version of VAT (GST) about 3000 UK pounds……

I ride a WR125R in Japan, and I feel that 15 horsepower is more than enough. I used to ride Daytona 675 and STREETTRIPLE, but they were too fast for me and I was afraid to fully open the accelerator. Although those bikes are lighter, they are still 50kg heavier. Even among 125cc boy racers, how many of them really experience the limits of their tires when cornering and use their full power?
This SOHC single engine delivers peak power at high rotation speeds, while generating persistent torque from low rotation speeds. The bike has a low center of gravity and is compact, making it nimble. The engine was also used in other companies' full-fledged off-road motorcycles. A motorcycle with a large body and a small engine allows the rider to swing it around as they wish.

You got my heartbeat stop for a sec, thinking the 2023 model received a front brake downgrade, but it still is a 4 piston radial mount caliper, not a 2 piston.

kinda funny seeing all these boomers keep on comparing the old 2 stroke 125 with modern 4 stroke 125 in almost every new R125 videos 😅
modern 125 sportbike is never mean to be a replacement for the 2 stroke 125 of the old days, they're just different.
just because they got the same displacement, doesn't mean you can compare them.
just think about the old 2 stroke superbike displacement, where most of them are 400~500, and when the new 4 stroke superbike come, they were change the displacement to 1000ish, because if they keep on 500ish cc, it wouldn't be the same.
modern 125 are totally intended for a beginner and learner, hence they restricted the horse power. it's for the safety reason, as nowadays road are much more crowded with much faster vehicles around.
but this small bike is still quite capable for what they made for.
if you want more power just buy a 600, or maybe the hype twin 700. that simple.

If you pay for the upgraded Acra exhaust, it is no louder than the stock exhaust. And is therefore, purely cosmetic. EU regs state the maximum dB level factory exhausts are allowed to be...
Upgrading after you've bought it will get you a louder one...

    ヨーロッパでは日本やアジア系生産のバイクが非常に高く売られている傾向があります。ヤマハのr1は日本ではヨーロッパの3分の2の値段で売られています。このバイクが日本でいくらで売られるか、非常に気になります。

So £1100 deposit plus 36x75 gives you a balloon of £1500 less excess mileage. Yamaha think residuals will be low after 3yrs then? Again, I can buy a Chinese 125 for just over the deposit amount and we're talking £1266 a year plus servicing on the Yamaha. So what's the extra £3000 buy? Quick shifter (up), branded tyres, twin cam and an R7 ish fairing? I can't see a rush of 17yo going for it and I don't blame them. As the Japanese did to the British the Chinese are doing to the Japanese luckily only small capacity bikes for now. Based on the PCP ya not far off a new 125 every year...

Chinese 125s struggle for 60, they are a pain to ride better off with a 50 2 stroke

@@LightoftheMostHigh I appreciate quality of ride and fit n' finish etc. My point isn't about the bike as such but rather the payment plans and cost of ownership. Re quality; having seen some big brand bikes after only a year or so real riding i think I'd get a good used one from 10 years ago...

Ride it 2 weeks and fix it for 1 month, 2 strokes aren’t for the road they’re for the dirt or track
