    Well I had my maiden flight with inav and f405 wing today,minor trim adjustments,worked a treat,thsnks to you Darren and your videos,a must watch by anyone who is new to inav and maytec,thankyou so much.....

    Bro, thanks so much for doing this. I'm coming from the Quad world and have been using BetaFlight. This is the first time I'm using iNav for the first time and while similar, the fact that I'm setting up for a wing has been frustrating to say the least. This video and your setting up for a wing video got me in the air. You're the best!

    thankyou for the video it helped alot but my throws are still limited why is it when i go bottom corner of sticks my throws are at max reach but when i just go straight down or up with sticks its limited ... my elevator for my fixed wing no matter how i set it up it cant get max servo.... but only bottom sticks in corner why

      My guess is that this is an elevon setup, so not an elevator. The elevon performs both elevator and aileron functions, to the throw for surfaces is the combination of both roll and pitch. If just pulling down was maximum throw of the servo, when you add aileron to that, it would either oversaturate the servo or have a limited action. Neither of which are desirable.
      How it is currently set up is right. If you’re not getting enough throw on each axis. I have a video on throws in iNav that can help ua-cam.com/video/tGRDZzaerOE/v-deo.html

    Mr. D, glad I found you. I've had problems in the past with Inav. I just finished setting up my Jumper T16 per your video. I can't seem to get my mid points exactly on 1500. I get 1499 or 2001. Can I assume that Inav will not care about this slight deviation?

      Have you tried adjusting the column on the far right of the transmitter outputs screen? This will adjust the midpoint.

    Hi. Thanks for the video. I have one problem. Servo work perfect. But the engine cannot be activated. I use a speedybee f405 wing. Inav 6.1, radiomaster tx12 mk2 and use model delta . Motor calibrated and I see inav/receiver trottele get signal from my tx12. Maybe you can tell me something.

    in manual my aileron movement is reversed and on the receiver tab the rudder and aileron graphs move the wrong way.....in angle mode the aileron reacts to movement correctly but the stick moves it the wrong way....my head hurts.

      So first thing, get the receiver page working correctly first. If the rudder and aileron graphs are going the wrong way, reverse them in the transmitter. Only check the surfaces after the graphs are all going the correct way.
      Then check the surfaces in manual.

    with Spektrum would it be wing normal or dual aileron? those are the only choices. for an AR600

    will the controller settings be the same for a wing ? I'm having trouble setting the mixer correctly

      Yes, the transmitter settings are the same for anything in iNav. Just a basic plane, 4 channel mixer. You do setup specific mixing in iNav it’s self.

    I'm building a wing complete kit one thing I don't understand is how does the flight controller know what channel the motors are on or the servos for that matter I believe my flight controller expects the motors to be on channel 1 or 2 or both, I have the Matek F405 Wing fc? S3 is the first connection for servos, S1 and S2 are for motors, your guide says to put the motor on channel 1, I'm confused how to set it up now.

      In the iNav targets, there are definitions for the outputs, which include if they are a motor or a servo. So iNav knows where to send the signals to. In the mixer side of things, the servos are assigned in order.
      Good flight controllers, like the Matek F405-WING, will have iNav wiring diagrams. With that FC, motors are on S1&2, and the servos start at S3. Follow that wiring diagram, and it will be fine.
      I’ve watched the video again, and couldn’t see the part where I’m saying to put the motor on channel 1? In the video, I’m using AETR, so the motor will be on channel 3. The setup of the transmitter and the mixer must be seen as separate in iNav.
      If it was in another video or an article on my web site, let me know and I’ll clarify.

      @@MrD I guess what I'm asking is in the video right at about 8:30 you put the servo's on channel 1 and the motor on channel 3, the F405 wing FC has the motors on channel one or two, and then channels 3 on up is for servos. That is confusing me.

      That is purely the transmitter setup. It has nothing to do with how they are output on the servo or motor pins on the flight controller. Basically, the transmitter sends out the 4 main controls on 4 channels. The order in this video, which is also the default order for iNav, is A - E - T - R. So that order is Ailerons (roll) - Elevator (pitch) - Throttle - Rudder (yaw). That's just the order that the channels are sent over the RC link.
      Once you're in iNav at around 14:00, one of the first things that is checked is the channel order. This tells iNav the order that the channels are sent over the RC link. So it knows which channel is roll, pitch, throttle, and, yaw. It's the mixer (ua-cam.com/video/LNEI_CRPwR0/v-deo.html for a flying wing) that decides where the outputs go.

    I just updated my QX7 to OpenTX 2.3.15 and now my outputs are - 500 to 500. What does that mean?

    been doing my first inav build with an ar 600 and it just rolls over on launch....probably should have started with a bixler or something.

      I am pretty certain that it was setup from what you described. So it would have still happened with a Bixler. But, in general, they would be great first planes over a wing, as they are more stable, sedate, and easier to launch. Don't worry, we'll get it all sorted.

      @@MrD I own 50 planes and a few wings but this I have stuff has me bamboozled. Maybe it would be simpler if I ditched the spectrum and got a radio master? At least there would be a lot more people the get help me get started on my journey. I do a lot of flights 2 or 3 miles out and just want the added security of INAV

      @@ab7rs there would be a lot more support and a lot more tutorials that could be followed exactly. But, I think the bigger advantage would be that your would have more than 6 channels, which you’ll find very limiting pretty quickly.
      We can get it working on your Spektrum. It won’t be a problem. But I think the TX16S will give you lots of advantages.
      50 planes, that is an impressive collection. You must have some pretty neat storage ideas for them too.

    Hi Darren, how critical is getting the endpoints on 1000 and 2000 with a midpoint of 1500 - I have been able to get for instance 1000 and 2001 on my ailerons at 97.8% & 98.0% respectively, but when I drop it to 97.9% on the maximum it drops to 1999? Hope the question is clear. I am using a Radiomaster TX16S on Crossfire nano RX and a Matek F411-WSE for reference. Thanks for your great videos.

      I have this bug on Crossfire too. It can never hit that 2000. I just set it to 2001.

    I have a glider with two servos for left and right wing for aileron.
    Do i need to set in the wizard one or two with y cable?

      Sorry I haven’t been clear.
      I want to not use y but two Chanel on my FC.
      I got one servos for each wing

      As in 1 servo in each wing, or 2 servos in each wing (ailerons and flaps)?
      Personally, I use 1 output per servo, so no Y cables at all. It gives you more options, especially on a full house glider.
      But regardless of what you have on the plane. If you are setting up for iNav, you only ever send over 1 aileron channel. No matter what the plane, the basic transmitter set up is always just the 4 channels AETR for control.

      Darren setting up the radio and inav, the aileron reciver tab in inav is diggling 1499-1500. Might be a problem?

    What version of firmware have you got on the Taranis X9D Pro? Since when I choose the wizard it does not have the graphics like yours, cheers.

      I believe its 2.3.8 or 2.3.9. Make sure to download the correct SD card file, as I think the wizard is on there.

    Hi , I´ve a Qx7 and fly Mode1(throttle and aileron on the right stick) . From betaflight i´m used to fix the endpoints in cli with rxrange command and the stickorder like AETR in the gui too.Will that be a problem in inav an why you first remove the aileron and then add it. Best regards in advance.

      The stick mode has no baring on the channel order. You can use rxrange in INAV. Personally I prefer to do it on the transmitter.

    You use the TX reverse and endpoint adjustments to get the channels set correctly in iNAV. Is this system better than using the iNAV "rxrange" parameters? Could you use a combination of both if there was a problem obtaining exact endpoints and centre point with say the TX adjustments?

      You would have to do reversing in the transmitter, to get the blue bars travelling the correct directions.
      But for endpoints, I would use one or the other, not both. The advantage of doing it in the transmitter is if you bind multiple aircraft to the same iNav OpenTX model, you only need to set them once. Whereas with the rxrange, you would need to set it in every model.

      @@MrD Your assumption that you need to do the reversing using the TX is incorrect, you can use rxrange setting for this. Normally the default, would be rxrange 0 1000 2000 as you know to set the aileron channel parameters. To reverse the movement the command would be rxrange 0 2000 1000.

      @@MrD I agree if you are using all the same Rxs. I have accumulated a mismass over the years and therefore need separate models for different receivers.

      I have 3 OpenTx models for iNav. L9R, Crossfire, and R9. All my iNav planes are bound to one of those 3 models. I’ve not had the need for a D16 model. But I can appreciate what you’re saying.
      At the end of the day, there’s not a wrong way of doing this. It’s whichever you prefer. I’d just highly recommend sticking to one method, not a combination.
