Today we are taking a look at the long-awaited Diver series by Vaer. This is the D5 Tropic, which is an American Assembled 200m diver powered by a Miyota 9015. It has one of the more unsual dial designs of the collection. You probably haven't seen anything quite like it.

One quick correction. I mention that all the strap options are quick release, but that obviously doesn't include the Nato Strap option.
Wouldn't a nato be the quickest release?
As always Shane, thank you so much for taking the time to review one of our watches! Very professional and thorough.
Just to re-emphasize quick note that you touched on - the lack of applied indices and thin painted lines on the Tropic did make for significantly less powerful lume on the Tropic than the other watches in the Dive line. It's definitely a trade-off for such a unique style (most Dive watches have the large indices for the sake of lume). Ultimately, each of the other models have applied indices and much larger surface area than the Tropic, so they glow much longer - we'll have to figure a way to get one in your hands for another test 😂
For viewers, please feel free to reach out to us with any questions!
Thank you,
Ryan
so is it mechanically harder to implement a more powerful loom? I love the style of the loom on this watch but if it fizzles out quickly what's the point? other than that i love the design so much. are there any plans to possible extend the life on the loom??
Then make a bigger version! This would still be great at 41 or 42mm, in fact I’d prefer a larger size.
Wow, seeing this from the side and other angles this looks a lot more unique than I had thought after seeing the straight on shots. I really like the curves, and that domed crystal is really cool.
Thanks for your review, well done! I've been considering one of their divers for a few weeks now. I like all of them but keep going back to this particular model for the unique dial. Glad I came across your review this evening, ordering one momentarily. Thanks again and best of luck in the new year!
really nice dial and the shape with that dome crystal is really well considered, thanks as always for a super solid review!!
For American assembly Vaer offers watches at a really great price. This is one of the nicest looking divers I have seen this year.
I love that case shape and domed crystal. It's also nice to see they used a Miyota 9015 movement. I think more brands should use it. Really cool dial and date window integration.
Love the different design. Most divers look alike to me but this one really stood out. Thanks for another thorough and informative review.
I just received mine a couple weeks ago. I got the version in the middle at your 10:40 mark. So far I love it! I think it's gorgeous, and runs really well!
Vaer may vary still i wish you a very merry christmas and a happy new year Shane (can't be worse than 2020, can it...?). Enjoy everything you love mate, all the best for you and your family, thanks for all the content you supply us (especially the straps combos...😋), stay safe and creative.
Great review as usual, with usual beautiful shots of the watch. I loved from the beginning when you said like: "I comes with a few variation of straps, but of course I will show it with a few of my own as well". And thanks for that, as usual. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. Keep up the good work, for hopefully a way better year than crap full 2020.
Thanks! Happy New Year!
I have the Arctic version of this watch. Absolutely love it. Quality feels a match for other watches I have that cost 3 times as much. Very pleased with it.
Another detailed review. I had to laugh at the beginning when you said they sent you spare straps, LOL. You need to make a strap video one of these days! Love that red rally strap, BTW.
I ordered the Atlantic last week. I thought about this design but ended up going with the more classic look. This one however, is quite striking and it’s nice to see a designer give something a little different a try and I think they did a real nice job with this one.
Excellent narration, thank you! 😊
I think the hands are great. Very cohesive. Like you said, the hour hand tips out right at the inner ring and in a great touch, the minute hand tips out dark right where the white minute track begins, for a neat contrast effect.
I like what Vaer is doing and the US assembly is appealing to me, too. I can definitely see myself owning a Vaer of some kind in the future and if I were ever to buy a non-solar powered quartz watch, it would likely be a Vaer.
Thanks for another great review.
Shane you have become quite the master at watch reviews. Well done! This is a striking watch that I bet looks great on the black tropic strap. Vaer is a great brand.
Thanks. It's a really cool watch.
Just received this tropic diver a few days ago. Very good quality and the design is not your run of the mill diver. Worth the money. Vaer is on the right track with their many options.
That for me is by far the best of the bunch. I really like the look of this watch. Lets hope they up the lume, not too fussed about the straps as I'd probably buy my own personal choice. Great review on a really nice looking watch. Thanks Shane
Thanks I appreciate your prospective I came across Vaer and agree with you concerning the Tropic you brought a couple of things to my attention which I miss ie the bezel separation but I need something other than a Seiko to beat on
I bought this exact model on Pre sale and got two extra straps because of a shipping delay and was extremely happy for what I got for the price. The overall feel of the case is just solid and the design ticks a lot of boxes for me and on the Italian leather strap I have it on now, I feel like I could wear it everyday. I haven’t even tried the bracelet yet but overall it has dive Watch specs, but an everyday Field / Sport watch feel to it and that’s what I think it’s strength is and what I was looking for in everyday daily. It’s almost a hybrid. I could probably wear a 43mm if I wanted but I like this watch because it’s a diver that hits a sweat spot where I feel like I’m not wearing a diver. 🇺🇸👍🏼
I received my Tropic this past Monday. I'm very impressed with the quality and I am no stranger to watches in the 10k range. The Miyota is -2 a day so far and I love the dial. It strikes my as higher quality than an equivalent Seiko. You can get more for your watch going gray market on some of these entry level swiss brands, but USA Assembly matters to me so it's worth the premium.
Very true. What straps did you get with it?
I like that it's different. The lume thing is an acceptable compromise. I would like to see companies like Zelos, Vaer, and Phoibos pushing on the movement manufacturers and getting something like the Powermatic 80, or a co-axial competitor, where we get reasonable accuracy and power reserve. The standard fair from Seiko and Miyota is pretty tired, and the Chinese movements are going to push ahead of the Japanese and Swiss movements if they don't push innovation pretty hard.
Really like this. Retro-inspired with a bit of a difference. Definitely one I'd have been interested in, if I were in the market for another diver.🙂
Glad to hear it’s a 40 at widest coverage, as it’s already small by standards of what I like. Very nice looking piece. 👍🏻
I’m a big fan of Vaer, and really like the watch of theirs that I own. Their new divers are a big challenge for them, there is so much to get right and always a trade off between price and features. They are genuinely trying to make great watches and I believe will succeed in time. Their case designs are a highlight, their lume a lowlight. For a field watch that is ok, for a diver a lot less so. If you can live with that though, there is a lot to like here and it just feels refreshingly different. Overall I would recommend the brand fairly highly.
I have the Vear D5 Artic Great watch its been in freshwater and seawater does everything it's asked to do, with no problems.
Shane could review a Big Mac meal and it would still be classy
Beautiful watch.
Wow! I JUST got my Vaer D5 Atlantic today!
I love the dial design, it’s different but so unique and memorable. I can live with the compromise on Lume longevity and also place a major premium on American assembly or build where applicable.
I really like that bezel design and dial. I'd prefer a 12 hr bexel insert as I doubt I'd use it for diving, but as a more than decent daily wear. I appreciate your emphasis on US assembly, even though I'm not from the US. You are killing it.
I would love to see a comparison of the American assembled item vs. the other option. It would be pretty interesting to see how much of a difference there is between the two items.
Very interesting watch. Certainly not your average diver. Thanks for sharing.
It’s a very interesting design which is a great thing in the sea of divers in the microbrand world.
Love the shot with the Falcon
Beautiful photography.
Thanks!
Nice review 👍
This looks great, though not perfect. I think some of the other dial designs might look better for me but the case seems very well constructed.
That 36mm Explorer style model that popped up on the for a second there looks absolutely amazing, I would love to take a look at that one 👌🏻
Great review as always Shane!
Yes, you picked the coolest one, the others are a bit too generic. This one certainly stands out. I like it.
Happy Xmas Shane 👍🏻🎅🏻
This design looks interesting but I skipped it because it looked hard to read and the hour hand looked too small like it was being overwhelmed. The Arctic model is the most conventional but it's the most popular for a reason. I don't want to have to squint at my watch.
Agree. This is the most interesting. Others are pretty generic. Amost bought one but wish they had more dial colors.
Nice review.
I would of definitely bought one if it was 40mm -42mm. It’s just too small for my personal preference.
I did but an A5 Field USA last month. Came on Wednesday. It’s better then I thought. Hey really did a great job with it.
I would definitely be interested if they camp out with a slightly larger diver.
Very attractive watch!
On the strength of your review of this watch...I bought it! Not Sorry. Mine came with the black rubber strap with additional nylon strap. Very nice looking watch. All functions, bezel etc. are a go. I agree with you, it is nice to have a dive watch that does not look like the others that I have. Thanks.
Good review
I love the design of the watch and the fact it's assembled in the USA. I agree, something a little different needs to be done with the hands and maybe the second hand should be red. Besides the painted roulette wheel, I wonder if some type of singular piece made out of a resin, something like you see on glow in the dark knife handles, I think that applied to the dial would really set it off. The design could be tweaked also, maybe keep the solid outer white band, add the seconds marks to the outer part of the ring, add larger Arabic numerals or blocks at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 positions to the inner second/hour markings?
Reminds me of an old country song " Im On The Back Side Of 40 " Or was it 'Im On The Back Side of 30" By John Conlee. Being I am on The Back Side of 40 I will sing this version.
If this watch had omega or rolex logo on it, people would be obsessed with the it and spend thousands of dollars on it. I think this design is amazing.
Loved this dial, so I had to get this option. One thing, on their website they list the lume as X1 C1, not C3, so that, along with no big indices to apply lume, lends to the disappointing brightness and longevity. Not a leather stap guy but hearing you sing it's praises, I just ordered one. Have to give it a shot. Great review.
It is a really cool design. I think Jody tested out one of the other models in a lumewars video, and it fared pretty well. So that shows they know what they are doing in general. Just hard to apply that much lume with this design.
@@RelativeTime True & I've noticed that I can still make out the time into the early morning hours. So it might not torch out like a Seiko Monster or Zelos but it works and the design trade off is worth it IMHO.
Great video
Based on this video and other research, I'm very near pulling the trigger on this watch. Within this video a brief appearance is made by a white strap which I thought looked great. Can you make a recommendation on that white strap? Big fan of your channel with its excellent macros and smoothly flowing script. Keep up the good work.
Glad I could help. If it's the strap I'm thinking of, it's a white Barton Silicone Elite. Since people ask about the straps, I usually try to put links in the description.
It's a great strap. Originally bought it to use with a white dial Zelos, but used it on a number of other watches too.
I do dig the 3d finish of the bezel, crown, gives the watch nice shadows and sculptural presence, at least thats how I perceive it.
My only deal is the white hands against the white circle and I am not fond of white second hands, yellow/tan/ or a small splash of red would have helped.
(Yep, agreed, something strange on the hands...)
Great looking dial,I remember it from the first pics few months ago.I also really like the white dial field watch, would be great if they could operate with EU dealers to miss the customs 😜
Very interesting dial although I don’t think it’s quite right for me. I hope they do more with the case design and try out different deals.
Love the dial... But with so many other $350-$600 dollar watches now out there and with having poor lume compared to others....
and for me....I love long lasting lume..
I seem to always grab those watches with fantastic lume whenever I have plans at night..
I’m not a buyer...
But if it had fantastic long lasting lume...
We’ll I would put it on my final buying list
Greg
I have several VAER watches (but not this one). I think they are excellent watches and a good value.
Love that this is American Made!
Good to see a “different” diver. Excellent review. By the way, us natives won’t hold being originally from SoCal against you. You’ve assimilated very well 😂
I actually like that bezel, but I would have picked a top hat glass instead of the kind of dome they chose. Love the dimensions of this watch, but I cannot make a connection with what's under that glass, which is quite important for a piece I'd buy.
can never have too many divers
Speaking of SoCal I'm still waiting for your review done in full DUDE!!!!😁😁😁
LOL. I haven't forgotten. I actually recorded a couple lines for this video, but wound up editing them out.
Like when I was talking about the Heritage Dark being one the best quartz field watches I've seen. I followed that up with "Dude!, It's pretty good". Yet when I was editing it together it just didn't flow right. So for the sake of time I took it out. Although thinking about it, I should of added them at the end as bloopers.
Nice watch it's like a tuxedo
Which brand is that red rally strap from?
Vaer DS5 Pacific automatic 42mm (orange and blue, rubber strap, $280ish) or Draken Tugela automatic 42mm (double drab, bracelet, $380ish)? Both are in my shopping carts. What do you think?
That's a tough one. I've never seen the Draken before so hard to say on quality. But I think the Tugela may have a more versatile design.
Great attempt, they almost made a complete design. They missed a great opportunity to lume the whole white dial section including the part surrounding the minutes.
Did your ship from Kansas City, Missouri? I wonder if that's where it's assembled as well because I know Dryden also makes their watches in Kansas. Could be same facility?
I think they use FTS in Arizona. I don't think Vaer says anything on their site, but FTS lists them as a Partner on theirs.
www.ftsusa.us/brands/
Although that could just be for their quartz watches.
@@RelativeTime Jerry @ Dryden tells me he does not assemble or ship Vaer watches out of "His" facility in KC tho he said he does know Ryan and Regan of Vaer. The address from which both of my Vaer Arctics shipped is different from Drydens mailing addy.
This response from KnowYourHistory mentioning Dryden and FTS led me to owning a porcelain white dial Dryden Chrono Diver and soon a second black vintage dialed one by the way. Great watches. As mentioned i have a Vaer D5 arctic and a D7 Arctic. Just received the D7 i ordered on Vaers 4th of July 20% off sale.
These are stunning watches by the way. Is the Swiss one worth $300 more? Probably not, but with the discount i just could not resist. The ETA 2824-2 is running with no beat error dial up and down as well as in the 6 up position on my timegrapher. Slightly more in other positions. Gaining maybe 3-4 seconds per day so far. It is as i have heard Spencer Klein say "this is a happy watch". The ETA is new yet though so we will see if it stays "happy".
The Miyota powered D5 has been my daily beater for a couple of months. When it showed up it ran between 0.1 and 0.3 beat error in 6 positions and gained 4-5 seconds a day. Since then it has settled in with between 0.6 and 0.7 beat error and gains 8-10 seconds per day. I may have to open it up and slow it a bit and get the beat error lower. Maybe just one straight line. We'll see.
One other observation. I'm 65, drive trucks for a living. Low average activity. 3 -4 day holiday weekend comes around, i sit on butt not moving much, you know "Geezerville". All of a sudden Miyota powered D5 has gained 90 seconds in 7 days. Put it on timegrapher and it's all over the place. So i wind it. Real easy to begin with. Then some resistance as it gets near a full wind. Back on the timegrapher and it's back running like +30 seconds in 7 days.
My take is the Miyota 9039 self wind rotor only winds one direction. Unlike the ETA with its two reverser wheels or a Seiko with it's magic lever that winds in "both" directions. But i have to stress, i was REALLY sedentary that week. The runs i did that particular 4 day work week were easy, followed by a holiday that allowed me to do 'Nuthin"! Normal 5 work days of hard runs followed by more normal weekend activity and the Miyota runs just fine. I have noticed over the years of wearing a Seiko Turtle that some times it would show inconsistent numbers on the timegrapher. A simple hand wind and it would clear right up. So with out a power reserve meter on these watches like some Orients have, we are unaware of how much reserve we have in our watch at any given time. That's why i see movement makers stating measurements of accuracy should be done within 10-60 minutes of a full wind.
Awesome review, thanks for the Boxing Day treat! My D5 Atlantic w/date came in 21 Dec, and I have been awaiting your take on them, as you always do a well balanced job.
In my experience the lume is functional, but not outstanding. My CW C60 is better, but at 150% the price I would hope it is better in some ways. I quite like the tropic it comes on, reminds me very much of my Uncle Seiko tropic. Up here in Ottawa it has been chilly, and I noticed that the bezel always catches on my jacket a bit, which will eventually damage the jacket. I'm sure that isn't an issue in warmer climes, but up here in the Great White North it is something to note.
Thanks. Do you think it's the height of the bezel, or more the teeth on the edge that are causing it to catch?
@@RelativeTime it seems t be the teeth on the edge, though the height/thin profile of the edge don't help.
The hour hand points to the minute markers and the minute hand points to open space and 5 minute Arabics.
it seems to lack a visual kick for me. btw, the bezel reminds me somewhat of a vostok amphibia.
I do like that design, it is different, and your reviews, as they so often do, point out the little things that make it interesting that I may have missed through a UA-cam video. Highlights for me are the case design, that crystal, and the dial/date (especially like the pop of red). I actually like the way the SS bracelet looks, but I agree, it looks good on a few straps, definitely a strap monster whose looks change depending on the strap used. And indeed, the lume needs to be beefed up on that model for sure, that is sad given their advertising surrounding it, even with the disclaimer..
Vaer for me has always been a bit overpriced for what you get. I don’t necessarily look for where it is made, I look for a quality built watch. As you showed, they are priced a bit high, you can get other watches for less that are as interesting and equal in quality and specs. That is the one aspect that has kept me looking elsewhere so far. But I get it is how they have decided to market their watches, I just have not bought into that aspect of the watch world so far.
That bezel is very strange.. I think I might like it. Assembled in the USA... maybe they should consider selling watch assembly kits.
This is really an interesting approach to a dive watch. The case design is one of the strengths of this brand, there is maybe a touch of Omega in it. I must say that this particular dial option doesn't really work for me. But what puts me off a little bit is this brand's pricing strategy. Their quartz models are reasonably priced, but as soon as it gets to autos their watches are a little bit too pricey IMHO. Reason enough to look elsewhere.
You definitely chose the most interesting option. I love it when a watch does something a little different, and this one is a lot different. A part of me wishes that the date wheel was red all the time, but I also dig how well it blends into the central ring.
The red rally strap looks fantastic. Where did you find it?
Edit: Oh, you already had the source in the description. My mistake.
Thanks. That strap is from a small company in Vietnam called. Babu Hand Made Leather
babuhandmadeleather.com/
Long story, but short version is I just randomly came across them on Amazon one day when I was looking for a new strap on my Hamilton Khaki King. Never really talked to them, but I liked that one enough I've bought a couple others.
Order a Tropic Diver based primarily upon your and Average Bros reviews of Vaer divers. American assembled is also a nice bonus.
Hope you enjoy it when it arrives!
More watches should have fully lumed train tracks. It's printed so it should be simple to do.
It may sound counter intuitive, but actually, the highest color contrast is not black & white, but rather black & yellow; like a wasp.
I could see that.
Still waiting for my C5 Tradition with Ameriquartz.
The Explorer homage? How long have you been waiting?
well said. i like it but i dont i get the feeling that vaer doesnt know what it wants to be
Do you mean the watch, or the brand as a whole?
@@RelativeTime the brand
What is that Jaeger model?
Jaeger model? Do you have a time stamp?
@@RelativeTime 7:10 I found it, but unfortunately the vintage version I was looking for turned out to be basically unattainable haha. awesome video!
I'm selling my hardly worn Vaer D5 Tropic on Chrono24
It's a very nice watch, but at the top end I would spend, especially without a bracelet. To put an exhibition back on it is senseless, especially with the 9015 movement. Think I would save some money and buy a Borealis, Zelos, or Obris Morgan, to name just a few. The fact it is screwed together in the USA means what?
For me personally, it's a combination of two things. One is more of an ideal. The idea of helping and supporting US based manufacturing. Especially in the watchmaking industry. Even though it's just putting the components together, it's something.
Yet as I said, not everyone is going to care about that. Now the other thing is that also means the final QC is done in the US rather than China, and if there are issues it might be easier to remedy. It might be a minor thing, and I don't think there is any real proof that's better, but for me it adds a little bit of value.
I agree on the caseback; which is one of the reasons that I chose their Swiss Made model with an ETA elabore movement. QC is important for their dive watches in particular as the alignment is a critical design element.
The pre-sale prices on VAER watches are very very competitive. It is worth getting on their email list.
looks like an breitling dive watch
The case maybe. There is a specific watch they homaged the dial after. Don't remeber which one though.
Oh no....it looks like a sub and a smp had a VERY beautiful baby *insert fry take my money meme*
Disappointed the outer ring wasn't lumed as well.
I was thinking that too. They could of just made this a fully lumed, dial they were half way there.
Cool
Not a fan of the domed crystal
One of a few details which are often slapped onto too many new watches., merely because it’s touted by watch reviewers.
Signed crowns too.
A lot of times they are added as it is seen as a premium feature, and it they do cost a lot more then. Supposedly flat sapphire is dirt cheap these days, and a single domed isn't too bad either. Yet a nice double domed or box cut crystal is still gonna cost the manufacturer.
Although sometimes it also depends on the design. I think it works here, but I've seen plenty that would be just as good, if not better served with a flat sapphire.
Well.... who needs yet another diver? The market is just saturated to the point of non interest. How many different ways can you do one? Additionally, this watch reminds me in a way pf the Timex Todd Synder variant. It might be called the bullseye. Check it out. They have a black/green one that similar to this IMO
Also, not sure if Vaer has caught on. Im selling my field watch for a stupid low price and not one sniff in 6 months. Nice review
I think the market may be starting to shift a little, as I've seen more non-divers on Kickstarter recently. Have to see if that continues next year.
Where are you trying to sell your field watch?
@@RelativeTime On a place called offer up. Any place you know for watch sales? Thank you
@@MrMuchachos75 I usually use ebay, but not sure I'd recommend them. It's the easiest, but they have gotten so greedy in their fees these days.
Although even if you don't sue them it can be a nice resource to see what's selling. As you can select the filter to show only what's sold and see what they are going for.
@@MrMuchachos75 offer up is a horrible place to sell watches. You’ll never sell anything in there. Just sell on eBay. I’ve seen multiple sold the last couple of months for decent prices.
I have a Vaer white design dial, and I considered joining the preorders for this, but this is sub par for what I'd expect from them.
The dial is great, but I really wish they lumed the white area with the 5 minute increments. Seems like a really obvious miss to me there, and for a dive watch, it's terrible lume overall. I love my Vostok for all of its quirks and uncompromising practicality, but the lume is awful. For a $75 watch as unique as the Amphibia, fine. For a microbrand, at $500, minimum? Unacceptable.
The bracelet is really lazy too. They didn't even bother with female endlinks (I have yet to meet ANYONE that likes protruding endlinks) and that's the cheapest milled clasp in the ladder. Not even a double pusher release. Quick release as it may be, it really doesn't fit the svelte design of the case. Really hope they step up their game on their next piece.
This thing just screams '60s. I think it was brave of them to do a design like this. One thing about the brand seems to be they know that the "watch bros" will come at them and they just don't care. They're going to do what they want. Which I applaud, since I can't stand watch bros. But on the other hand, the loom is disappointing and I think the hands needed to be a bit bolder to stand out more against the dial. So this is a combination of hit and miss for me.
As a European, I don't really care if it was assembled in the US, I honestly prefer the efficiency of everything apart from the movement being done under one roof like the more premium Chinese brands. Also, why are they writing "American Assembly"? The country is not called "America", that's a colloquialism, or do they do it in a random country on the continent? "Assembled in USA" would make more sense.
Talking about the design, are you sure they are based in California and not Nevada? :-P
Are you German BTW? They seem to be the only country that has a hard time with this. Outside of Europe and certain parts of South America, most people learn the continent as North America and South America, with America alone referring to the country. Also American is a demonym for people from the US the same way Swiss is a demonym for Switzerland. Hope that helps.

From Wikipedia:
The Americas (also collectively called America) is a landmass comprising the totality of North and South America.
The United States of America (USA), commonly known as the United States (U.S. or US), or America, is a country primarily located in North America,
The collective name for the continent(s) is America, while using it for the country is common but not official. Why wouldn't you use the official name? It's not like USA would break the character limit.
AA, VAER is headquartered in Venice Beach, California. It is a beach front town in America. One of the many advantages of being the hegemonic power in the world is the ability to call yourselves any thing you want. We call ourselves Yanks, Americans, Californians, North Americans.
By your logic, there is no such thing as an European. Europe is an utopian ideal, an artificial construct that has no tangible or practical meaning, hence Brexit.
"The more premium Chinese brands", LOL... Such as? With what dive watches on offer? It sounds like you are touting vertical integration. No microbrand operates on that scale. LOL.
The Nevada joke is a swing and a miss.
@@ivermec-tin666
You are shockingly butthurt about the very simple statement that shipping Chinese parts to the US and A and assembling them there offers no real advantage over just assembling them in China by the same guys who built case and dial.
You think they can't do their job properly? Then why buy the damn parts from them? Let's face it, it's a marketing ploy, a "buy Murican" bandaid on a missing limb. I'd say the same thing if they did it with any other country.
Oh, the cheap joke about the Roulette wheel design also triggers you? Oh my.
@@Alias_Anybody That's me, the shockingly butthurt and triggered stoic. LMFAO. Born in the US and A. LOL. You utopians are amusing.
Date wheel should have been entirely red. It’s very boring w/out it and the date blends in to much.
Yet another reason I hate microbrands; the D5 isnt' in stock. Again. How shocking for a microbrand...not.
Vaer is usually a little better then some micros on that, but that is an issue with them as a whole. It's understandable as they don't have their own production line, or unlimted funds to mass produce. But it does make buying them hard. You have to keep up with what they are doing and sort of be in the know.
@@RelativeTime The same thing in the audio world I think. I bought from a small internet direct company w/great speakers. I wanted to complete my system for home theater--center/side/rear speakers. First they were behind schedule then they went out of business b/c the owner/designer went in another direction. I hate not supporter small companies but yes, that's the drawback.
Nice review of a good-looking watch for sure, but for that price they could afford to already put an SW200 inside, and not just M9015. And also, you are paying for American assembly and QC - I'm not really interested in paying a premium for this, considering all the parts come from China & Japan anyway. But I can relate to your patriotic feelings. Unfortunately, all the watch brands in my country are shameless low effort rip-offs
Certainly a bit different just not in a good way.
