Also the three living legends --- LeBron , Steph & KD --- made this one so iconic. I highly doubt they are gonna play in Los Angeles 2028. we might witness the last Dream Team. to be honest , the NextGen is nowhere near on LeBron--Steph--KD level. This is what I’ve been saying and it felt so weird for that to be the case. I almost lost my voice watching it alone at my house. Steph’s 3 to take the lead had me feeling like I could levitate. Then from then on it was just a blur of the most hype I’ve ever been for a game I wasn’t in the stands for. Only a handful of sporting events compare for me and 2 of them are from these games. Quincy Hall’s 400M, Cole hocker’s 1500M, app state beating #6 TAMU (was a student), and app state winning the next week on a hail Mary then storming the field These games got me feeling so patriotic it’s scary. Kinda sad knowing the games are over and it’s gonna be a WHILE before sports hit the spot like that again

You don’t nearly win against the US just because you have two NBA players. Serbia has one of the best basketball system in place and that’s why they regularly produce great players on international level although being such a small country. The lesser known names have all it takes to compete at that level and it doesn’t matter who’s coming off the bench. That’s why they have such a rich basketball history.

If we had a pool of players that practiced and played together for 4-8 years, then Team USA would be a lock for the gold medal game in 2028. Without that, I think it's very much in doubt. The talent gap is closing, but the chemistry gap is a chasm in favor of the world. 1 MVP vs 4MVPs was only a close game because the 4 were thrown together in a few weeks.
I think the reason team USA has had such a rough Olympics is because the Olympics is way more physical, less penalties and whistles, and these guys aren’t used to that the same way guys in the past have been. A lot of other countries teams have been inching on America for years because the NBA and sports in the US in general are growing softer.
As others have said this was like game 4 of the 2022 NBA finals. Just like curry’s performance and that win gave the warriors the momentum I think it will do the same in the game against France. This will be the blowout game with USA taking the gold (once the referees don’t takeover)
US got away with a lot of fouls, one was when Embeid close to the end picked the Serbian player and then moved in front of him and threw an elbow and knocked him to the ground. Curry hit a 3 pointer off that illegal pick. No foul called.Serbia got screwed
Some might have been fouls, but you have to remember FIBA rules are quite different than NBA rules. A lot of things I thought would be fouls or violations during the game weren’t due to FIBA rules.

Olympic basketball is so much better. Less commercials, shorter breaks and only 40 minutes of both teams going all out the entire game. Refs are pretty chill too.

This game being hard wasn't a dig on the US but a big up for the serbs. The competition really is that hard now. I keep saying it, The US team isn't above the rest of the world, the Hall of famers on the team are. It's a reason the nba is dominated by european players. Celtics won this year and americans were immediately like "SEE WE ARE BETTER THAN THE REST OF THE WORLD" Playing immediately on the Noah lyles point... The NBA isn't the rest of the world and the rest of the world isn't just Jokic Luka and Giannis...

They don’t understand. What makes it special is our differences. I can’t stand most of the players on team USA because of their politics. I’m sure they all have differences and arguments throughout an NBA season. What makes this special is even I, differences and dislikes aside, found myself rooting for them. I loved seeing them come together for our country. That’s the beauty of the Olympics AND the pride we have in our country.

If we had a pool of players that practiced and played together for 4-8 years, then Team USA would be a lock for the gold medal game in 2028. Without that, I think it's very much in doubt. The talent gap is closing, but the chemistry gap is a chasm in favor of the world. 1 MVP vs 4MVPs was only a close game because the 4 were thrown together in a few weeks.
I think the reason team USA has had such a rough Olympics is because the Olympics is way more physical, less penalties and whistles, and these guys aren’t used to that the same way guys in the past have been. A lot of other countries teams have been inching on America for years because the NBA and sports in the US in general are growing softer.

As others have said this was like game 4 of the 2022 NBA finals. Just like curry’s performance and that win gave the warriors the momentum I think it will do the same in the game against France. This will be the blowout game with USA taking the gold (once the referees don’t takeover)

US got away with a lot of fouls, one was when Embeid close to the end picked the Serbian player and then moved in front of him and threw an elbow and knocked him to the ground. Curry hit a 3 pointer off that illegal pick. No foul called.Serbia got screwed
Some might have been fouls, but you have to remember FIBA rules are quite different than NBA rules. A lot of things I thought would be fouls or violations during the game weren’t due to FIBA rules.

Great win and definitely special to see Durant, Curry and Lebron play together. However, I don’t think it’s as legendary a moment outside of America as you guys are making out. Most of the world probably didn’t give it much attention and won’t remember it.
