In all of Will's amazing songs he prides himself on no curse words in any of his raps. He believes rappers can do better. All of his songs are dance club fun! My favorite is "Switch".
I really didn't appreciate "Switch" when it was first released. I liked it, but I didn't love it. Little did I know it would somehow stick with me for 15+ years and every time I listen I pretend I'm successfully swing dancing lol.
@@eskayh7734 He has so many catchy songs that stay in your head with great rap & lyrics. "Switch" is so simple yet when I hear it - damn it! I'm stuck! 🤣 I bet you've got the dance moves! You go! 🎶😜
Will Smith was a Top 3 entertainer in the WORLD between 1996-2003 🌎 -Independence Day (1996) -Bad Boys (1997) -Men In Black (1997) -Wild Wild West (1999) -Men In Black ll (2002) -Bad Boys ll (2003) Songs- Here Comes The Men In Black (1997) Getting Jiggy With It (1997) Miami (1997) Just The Two Of Us (1997) Wild Wild West (1999)
The music video and song was used heavily in the movie's marketing (I'm a 90's kid and can recall the Men In Black marketing, especially since I was crazy about Will Smith back in the day). So the music video was released on MTV and VH1 before the movie released in theaters. I don't think we hear the song at all in the movie though until the end credits. The song was pretty popular too, especially on the radio. I think I was in 2nd or 3rd grade when the movie came out, so I can't say if it was popular in the clubs. Wasn't old enough to get into clubs, although I still don't go to them. Mainly because I have no one to go with, I'm not cool enough, and I don't drink.
Do you remember doing the dance with friends?! We had the soundtrack (the whole thing was great) and used to do the dance at parties and sleepovers. Man...kids today just don't have the type of FUN we had growing up. I genuinely feel bad for them.
All started back in Philly as The Fresh Prince with DJ Jazzy Jeff. His success is phenomenal and his song list of hits is astronomical. Still rappin to this day and absolutely killin it!!!
Have always loved his attitude, no matter what he's doing. His music is just FUN. Great to chill and sing to. Love that he doesn't take himself too seriously, and he always has a good time. Pretty smooth, too. And kind of effortlessly cool. Like Beck. In a different way.
It was pretty common in the 90's/00's to have a official song to a Movie, especially with Sony Pictures, in fact they still do it sometimes like with Venom. It is a shame they don't do as much anymore because like you said, it generated hype.
STOP RECOMMENDING THESE STUPID SONGS!!!! Will Smith has LITERALLY ALBUMS FULL of songs that are awesome, including at least a few as Fresh Prince! No need to recommend the boring/shitty ones!
I LOVE this song! It's from his "Big Willie Style" album and the whole thing is fire! I listed to this almost non-stop in 1998 on a road trip from Amarillo TX to Ft Lauderdale FL (about a 25 hr trip). Good times, good times. 🤘Rock On!🤘
I think this version appears during the closing credits of the movie. So people may have missed it if they left the theater at the end of the movie, or if the station broadcasting the movie on TV ends before the closing credits.
The original music is forget me nots by Patrice Rushen.. the words to this was added by Will Smith..but try and review the original..Rushen has a fantastic voice..it was a big hit over here🇬🇧

Great song. Everyone wanted a pair of black Ray Bans when the song/movie came out! You should also check out the song that it samples, 1982 R&B jam "Forget Me Nots" by Patrice Rushen.
It was a big hit when it came out for the movie soundtrack ,me and my brother used to jam out and dance in the living room trying to do the choreography lol as kids
Yea this was the jam back in the day..the background singer is Coko from the group SWV...the melody is on point too..Will did his thing on this one..1997

Jay-i watched this movie before, was this in the movie? Me-just the end credits if i remember correctly. I used to emulate the alien and group in my room when i had the vhs with this at the end after the movie credits.
This is the theme from the movie 'Men in Black'. The music from the line "Here come the Men in Black" is from Evelyn Champagne King's 'Forget Me Nots'. The actual line was sampled by George Michael on 'Fast Love'.
Summer Madness by Will & DJ Jazzy Jeff is a sample from Kool & the Gang's Summer Madness. Will added the lyrics. R.I.P. Darryl "Kool" Bell who passed a few months ago.
it was definitely a hit and it came out around the time of the movie. there was a period of time where Will Smith did a hit song for every movie he was in. the movies would be blockbuster successes and the songs would top the charts. i kinda miss him doing songs for his movies. honestly with him and Jared Leto in Suicide Squad, they should have had them both do music or maybe even a collab.
This song cracks me up my 4yr son got up and sang this song for his preK graduation. 😆 especially when all the other kids singing kids songs like wheels on the bus.
I think this was played during the closing credits of the movie. The funny thing is, when you watch reaction channels that do movies, they are usually surprised that Will Smith is a musician, when they react to MIB.
Awww maaann!!!! That actually brought a tear to my eyes. Reminds me of when my daughter was a little girl. She absolutely loved Will Smith and we would watch this video over and over❤️❤️
This video and song were created in a time when using music videos to promote movies was very popular. Will Smith did a great music video for the not-so-great movie Wild Wild West. The music video (if not the movie) is very fun and worth checking out.
....Well duh. Of COURSE we should watch one of the best Will Smith movies ever made, Wild Wild West. Just like every movie with an awesome song attached in a genre other then soft rock, it's obvious that if the song is awesome (excluding the soft rock genre), then the movie will be too, because since we were alive we know that that is just what happened to happen.
