- Three civil service aspirants died after the basement of a building housing a coaching centre was flooded following heavy rain in parts of Delhi on Saturday. The incident happened at the Rau's IAS Study Circle in the Old Rajinder Nagar area.
The Delhi Fire Department officials confirmed to news agency PTI that they had received a call informing them of a flooded basement at the coaching centre at nearly 7 pm. "The caller told us that there was a possibility that some people were trapped. We are investigating how the entire basement was flooded. It appeared that the basement got flooded very fast, which caused some people to be trapped inside," DCP (Central Delhi) M Harshavardhan told reporters.

Builders must be made accountable for such construction

@@7ExDanger some students gave their testimony on ANI news report.....their they clearly said that NCRF personnels told then that they got 8-10 bodies inside basement.
Do you think if 8 students died, this info could be suppressed. Use some common sense

Similar and other businesses are yet uprunning in illegal basement constructions in Laxmi Nagar and Veer Savarkar Block, Shakarpur- delhi. Although these are more vonurable to alike incidents as they are considered within both earth quake and flood prone areas. I plead to good soles in authorities to atleast save human life which are alive. RIP and condolence to lost lifes and their family.
