To notice: the oto melara 76mm naval gun is on most of the frigates in the NATO
Well all 65 US Arleigh Burke ships have 5" guns (127mm), as do all Greek and Turkish MEKO (German) frigates (I believe the MK-45 127mm, same as Arleigh Burke)... just saying :) But yeah the Oto Melara 76mm is a great rapid fire gun. Most "new" Frigates use this gun and the new US Frigates (Italian/French FREMM) will also have the Oto 76mm.
@@vtecharrys.6981 While the MEKO is a German system, Germany doesn't have a ship of that make. But they do use the Oto Melara either in 76mm up to F124 class or in 127mm F125 class and future ships.
technology and the logistics are actually more important rather than just numbers. you can have 10k tanks for instance but if most of them have 60s-70s technology, you are gonna have some difficult time penetrating the enemy's let's say just 1000 tanks with latest technology and more efficient, more capable armor.
This video takes technology into account. Greece has around thrice the number of tanks France or the UK have, but they are not as modern or capable.

Greece is a 10 million people country which invested a lot in its military due to its long standing rivalery with Turkey. But thing is, weapons are very, very expansive, so a good part of Greece battle tanks, for instance, are quite old.
Greec has currently 1244 battle tanks, which places the country second in Europe behind Russia, and ahead of France, the UK and Germany, for instance. But what are theses tanks ?
352 are Leopard 2 tanks, made in Germany and extremely capable, considered one of the best tank in Europe or even in the world.
The rest is either Leopard 1, the previous version, which is quite old (produced in the 60s) or M48 Patton modernized (still, the tank has been produced in the 50s).

i mean russia has pretty advanced weapons and by far the biggest war industry in europe so there would be changed nothing. also there old tanks which are not in reserve got updatet, so they can take on new ones. and for planes... at this time any plane can be targetet from ground so fighter vs fighter is costly and that bit faster they got in the last 30 years changes not alot when beeing atack from ground. but more means they can split up better. and about navy.... the russian navy is the only one which could do a real naval battle even thought their carrier is pretty lame. but they have at least enough escort for an carrier taskforce unlike all the other nations

There is a soft spot where you can have military hardware not completely ready but in 6 month, 1 year you make it ready (say 40 or 60% of it) while it would take you 5 years to build it.

In my country (the Netherlands) we threw away our armed forces because of the many budget cuts. The same applies to many countries like fore example Germany. We should build our armies again, and work together!! Act more like a united europe on defense.
I think Germany should 100% invest more in it's army and defense industry. Germany already has some of the most advanced conventional war tech and abilities and they can field a large army and deploy soldiers abroad to secure German etc interests. Also France as the military arm of EU would be a fucking disaster. They are basically still a colonial power and they only care for their own interests and power projection. France sees Europe as their foreign legion not as their partner. They support brutal dictators left and right and scum like Haftar in Libya.
In Nederland though we should just invest in defense industry. The Netherlands is too small and doesn't really need an army to project power in or out of Europe. It has its ports and economy. Nor does the Netherlands have any risk of any enemy attacking etc. I doubt Germany will ever want more "lebensraum" anytime soon. Not saying the Netherlands shouldn't have an army. But a small and very capable force is better than a large army that balloons in its costs and results in lower quality training and equipment.
The Netherlands is too small to have a large deployable army. But wealthy enough to build solid defense tech, drones, missiles etc that would be a challenge for even the largest armies.
Looking at Karabag, Libya, Syria and what Turkey has been doing with drones should really show how effective this new tech is and how helpless conventional armies and militias are against it. Its kinda like how the US had night vision before everyone else.
In Libya Turkey managed to help GNA push back Haftar from the gates of Tripoli using like 6 drones and some Syrian mercenaries to bolster GNA forces since GNA barely had any troops left and LNA had already conquered 95% of Libya
Poland is the first NATO country that has bought Turkish TB2 due to how effective they were against Russian AA and their effectiveness in general. If you search TB2 on UA-cam you'll find 1080p drone footage of thousands of soldiers, armored vehicles, tanks, AA, MLRS being neutralised.
Anyway, with the US basically being Rome in decline pulling forces left and right (see pull out of Iraq causing rise of ISIS, giving up in Afghanistan vs Taliban etc) and making place for the Dystopian CCP regime. (Taliban BTW literally invited China to Afghanistan days ago) Europe.. In fact the whole world needs to prepare for the inevitable Chinese bullying (economically and teritorially) expansion or aggression. @@christian9125abd well, not really, because if u wanna pin Russia up aigenst any european nation besides like white russia or maybe Ukraine, you would have to pin them up aigenst pretty much all of europe in a realistic situation, or atleast all European Union members, and then the EU has about 4 times the population and at the bare minimum the same military industrial capability as russia and allot more convertible civilian industry, also keep in mind that allot of russias tanks are very outdated, being near obsolete, some even with their "life extendancy packages", which most times just adds some new eletronics and some better ERA, whilst Europe mainly works with quality, meaning we have less but overall they're quite a bit better efficiency wise and performance wise.
@@pancake1562 it was not eu compared to russia but other countries and there no other european country can somehow reach them. russia still has the second biggest military industry in the world. a part of their army is modernized which can compete with the modern parts of france or germany and they than have the mass factor as war material will get destroyed in a conflict and .... and most western army's do not have a reserve of equipment and even though it is outdatet, it is still better than nothing. as it could be made combat ready within a few days while it takes weeks or months to produce the same amount from the scratch.

Dont judge any nation based off this video though, its completely irrelevant if war happened. Most of these countries apart from Russia only maintain a minimal peacetime force, I'm sure if the UK or France wanted to maintain an army ready for conflict then they would be able to field one larger than Russia's.
Greece and Turkey have ready to fight armies because they afraid each other. If you see the number of tanks and fighter jets of Greece you will understand. A country of 10 million people and has more tanks and jets than Germany, UK or France.
