Well that knife performs great now I guess, nice pack indeed, if the fabric squeezes maybe you could treat it with some G1000 beeswax and melt it in with a hair dryer, worth a try probably
Thank you for sharing your ideas on packs. I carry a shoulder backpack if I can get by with one. It lets be slide the pack to the front and get to the contents and not need to it take off.
The other day, when watching the scouting hike up the river, I noticed you were carrying the Stubben Backpack and wondered how you like it. And here we are, so thank you! I own the newer version of the Stubben and agree with your review: great for an afternoon in the woods, not suited for longer hikes or overnighters. As you mentioned, the new pack has a single center J-hook on the main pack and similar closures on the side pockets.
Looks a heavy backpack compared to the amazing LK35 or the larger Lk55 which is totally awesome. Looking forward to the kit video, I would guess that even though the Selvans has grown on you it will not be on the kit list..... 👍👍
Great review as usual. Backpacks, mattresses and boots....all need to be tried before you buy. I've got my old Army Berghaus (Cyclops?) Bergan and a bundeswehr mountain pack that i waxed years ago for my bushcrafting. But for actual load bearing my 25 year old, used lots of times but still as new Tatonka 75L is brilliant. But its entirely personal, recommendations are frankly pointless - all you can really say is whether the item is constructed well.....which you did excellently and in depth.
I've only had cheap crap backpacks and one Canadian army surplus thing in the 1970's which was horrible to wear. Recently I bought the Decathlon 70 litre FORCLAZ Trek 100 easyfit backpack for $120.00 and I am really impressed with it..when I pick up groceries and household stuff on my bike, the breeze is actually directed down my back so I'm cooler than without it...amazing to me because my cheapo packs sweltered me. Bought it solely on YTube reviews because the stores are far away.
Thanks for the update. I went to checkout the prices of the Fjallraven goodies and Backpacks. Now I am not a swearing or cursing man,... But those prices will make me invent a few new swear words🤣🤣 It is a full month of above average South African salary for one Backpack. 👀🙈 I do believe it is good quality though.
day pack conundrums , LKs are expensive nowadays NI Patrol Pack or Dutch Syntex small pack with additional bag cheap and proven combo if you dont mind DPM Camo always tone em down.r with some spray paint rucksacks are a money pit
I've had a lot of daypacks over the years, I think I might need a change, could go back to the Bison Bushcraft Garron pack or maybe a new one, I tried the Savotta but wasn't keen.
For the prices of these things I'd expect them to light my fire and cook my breakfast and at least one brew. Just the name you pay for, you can still buy well made packs without spending daft money. I appreciate that you got it at a bargain price so obviously that's the way to go.👍
Hello Rob, Me again, In a recent video you said there might be a "big knife cull" coming up, as in a sale. I am very interested if you have any scandi ground stuff for sale, more so interested in high end stuff.
@@RobEvansWoodsman Ah, I already have plenty of fallknivens, thank you for reaching out to me. I am most interested in one of your skookum bush tools, and if I could have it my way, because it's already a dream, in ivory micarta and 3V. I'd give a right bloody arm and leg for that.
Been using a tactical military style cheap pack with mollie webbing for years always my go to pack cause I can add to it and swap pouches to suit each need. By the way, are you still making and selling bushcraft knives and if so are you selling them online?
Extrema Ratio Selvans, a knife I really didn't like at first but as I can't sell it I'm using it and it's growing on me, it's not the amazing do it all knife that some people say but it's ok.

I thought about this a few years back, but the price and the weight put me off. Can buy and carry several chairs for that!
You could buy a cracking quality rucksack and a folding chair/stool.
New version has a single G hook to hold the lid closed.
Thankx Rob

Thanks as always Rob good vid for those who may be thinking of hiking , you always show an item in reality and point things out that others may miss

A definite improvement with the G hooks.

Oh and an Alice pack that I've not used in anger yet....its built for narrower people 😳
Yes they are, surprising as the yanks are generally bigger than us.
Sold mine years ago.

excellent quality gear but far too expensive, this one was a second hand bargain.
Sweet pack! Great vid as always Sir Rob!

You can get a backpack with an integrated seat far cheaper, fishing gear is cheaper and good quality.
👍👍👍

Hi mate, I've sold what I intended to sell, the only thing I have left is a Fallkniven F1Xb well used.

Good honest review. However I just don’t like the Stubben at all . It looks as if you bought a posh laundry box and put shoulder straps on it .
🤣🤣🤣
A cheaper option.
Congratulations to The Stump from The Mountain Fox
from Sweden.

I used to have this pack most uncomfortable for hiking he killed my calves
Great backpack review, Rob! Do you know the Kelty Redwing 50 tactical?
Not familiar with that one.
@@RobEvansWoodsman no problem ;-) I just recently saw a review about that one, and it was said to be a good bushcraft backpack
WD40 or ear plugs ought to sort out the squeaking. 🤷😉🤦
I was not happy with Fjallraven's customer service, either.
What's dat blade u using

For now I'll keep it, see if it grows on me some more.
Rob did your Instagram get hacked?
Yes ages ago
How can I contact you? I was waiting to get a bush tool made From you. I thought something happened like that lol
