Ours are still blooming and it's been a full month of purple in the garden! A great plant to have in a native garden. Glad you added some to your garden! Cheers!
Always enjoy seeing your native garden! We tend to steer clear because of our pastures being taken over by invasive plants like milkweed etc. At this point we are feeding hay for over a month so grasses are desperately needed. Enjoyed this! Great job
I fully understand about the Milkweed. I know farmers near me hate this plant. I'm keeping this planting small and collect all the seeds to keep them out of the fields. Not sure how the native grasses would do in your pastures. There are probably non-native grasses that are more nutritious for animals. Thanks for stopping by Lisa.
Looking to add some beautiful, vertical flowers to your native garden? This is the plant for you!
Planted a few of these in the Chicago area and they’re doing well!

They have lovely flowers on them☺
And they bloom a long time! I love that they hold the purple for almost a month. Beautiful! Cheers Anne!
Seems weird, but my favorite color is purple, that is a beautiful flower!! So the gnats are tastier this season 🤔🤦🏼🤣🤣 Cheers Mr Rich!!
The gnats are as tasty as ever......and very abundant! You need to become a Vikings fan if you like purple! Cheers Nelson!
Good morning Nelson. Do not become a Vikings fan unless you like to suffer.

Very pretty plant. Thanks for sharing and teaching. And YES the gnats are horrible this year.
Sorry you're dealing with the bugs, as we are. Due to all the rain in June, the bugs are nasty! Cheers Dawn!
I've seen this my entire life, but never knew what it was called.
I do appreciate color since we see white for 5 months a year.
Thank you Rich.
Maybe that's why I like the wildflowers so much. The months and months (and months) of snow gets old pretty quick! Cheers Bryce!
