Love is the death of duty.
Sometimes duty is the death of love.
So, the finale, right? I must say, that for me, the first half of it was awesome. I loved every second of it. I think that the death of Daenerys was great, so sad scene, and the Drogon reaction- heartbreaking - but well done. I loved that part where he burned the Iron Throne.
And after Jon became Queenslayer (maybe they will understand Jaime now little bit more?), things wasn't as I expected.
Bran the Broken. Ok, I didn't want him to be king, not at all. I was mad about it. BUT, I watched some explanation videos, and now I am pretty ok with that. All the things that he was climbing to the top from childhood etc. and all 'the STORY' explanations.. ok, he's gonna be great.
Arya's end. Sadly, still not very interesting for me :(.
Tyrion Lannister.. in the end, it was him I wanted on the Iron Throne (I was expecting that Jon won't sit on that chair), but I can live with him being a hand of a king.
Jon Snow.. I hope he knows how Jaime felt. I wasn't satisfied with him being send to Night's Watch, but after reunion with Ghost and leaving to North with wildlings.. I think he's going to become King beyong the Wall - so yeah..it could have been better, but fine.
Sansa Stark- finaly, with this girl's ending I am totally satisfied, I am happy for her so much.
Daenerys Targaryen.. I remember how I loved her in first seasons, at the end, it was everyones fault. Everyone told her that she was the chosen one, that she will bring peace to Weteros, she believed that and wanted to achieve that no matter cost. We knew she had to go, and the was she died was really sad, but beautifuly done.
Jaime Lannister - Thank GOD for Brienne of Tarth. I cried a lot while she was filling those pages, and it was beautiful, so sad, but beaitufil. THANK YOU for letting her close Jaime's character like this.
Ser Podrick - Oh, my heart. I screamed so much. It was perfect.
Even if the finale wasn't as I expected, three Stark children are now monarchs, Jaime's story was ended proberly and Podrick is a fuc.... knight! It was good.
The last season wasn't perfect, we all know that, but we have high expectations from each new GOT series that it would be impossible to end things to everyone liking. But c'mon, even the new series was the best things you have seen in tv series history :)
Thank you for this wonderfull series. Now, I am gonna rewatch :D

it is tragic :( but it was going this way for a long time.
It was such a shitty ending for her. They literally had to completely destroy her in the last season to even try to make it make sense, and it still didn't.

Well, I don't ship them too much either, but I felt like I needed to tell their story.
I still (and will probably always) think almost everything this season was executed in the poorest way possible in terms of writing, but boy did you make everything 1000 times more emotional with this video -- from the song choice to the way you told their story, wow, it was truly something special. The show never managed to get me 100% sold on their feelings for one another, but your video makes them feel raw and real, and makes me want to bawl my eyes all over again on the unfairness of their fate 😭

I don't ship them but you are a great editor so that vid is still damn amazing.
Even tho I have another take on the "love is the death of duty" line because that is what actually happened in the finale, not the other way around. his last words to her even were "you are my queen" (duty) but his love for his family and the potential of her killing them (by taking over the world the same way as king's landing) is the reason he killed "his queen". he didn't want to go through with it (means he didn't want to do his duty to the realm) until tyrion mentioned his sisters and his love for them was strong in the end than his duty to "his queen".

Well, that's interesting, I think it can go both ways. Love can be represented by Daenerys and duty can be represented by people of Westeros. And love can be also represented by Jon's family and duty by his vow to Daenerys.
my shipper heart feels so sad, but the vid is so great it captures season 8. I am happy that that there are shippers that share my opinion at least.

Its not DAny we knew. Real Dany wouldnt have burned innocents like that. I hate DD dor making her 'villain' in the end - it looked so unnatural. If they wanted to kill her - they should have killed her in battle with WW, not this bullshit. Still beautiful video

That's because we never really knew Dany as far as her insatiable appetite for wanton destruction, scores of countless innocents men, women, and children, her drunken lust for absolute power and total control, she was always a threat greater than even the Night King, only Jon was the only one who could stop her by any means necessary, with her death the wheel was finally broken, and the Targaryans 300 year dynastic rulership has come to its permanent closure.

Clarke was shocked that d&d made her go "mad" in season 8. Apparently very unhappy actors with how they were portrayed in the final season as were many got fans.

I have to disagree about the final season still being one of the best things I've seen, I thought the last season was Terrible, I wasn't satisfied with anyone's endings. Not because I wanted it to end exactly how I wanted it, I just really hated the writing of the characters in season 8. Cool edit though.
Her supposed friends and family are every bit as much to blame for what she did as she was, maybe more. No betrayal, no murders of, was it Kings Landing? It it hadnt been for her, they would not be standing either. And what did she get in return, Dead. As it turned out, there was no earthly reason to tell his real name, He repeated many times , he did NOT want the throne. But he let the little pipsqueak talk him into killing her anyway. Now hes in exile and he will spend the rest of his life reliving what he did to the woman he loved until it drives him nuts. He had already started doubting what he did was right. So what went around is starting to come back around. So long Jon Snow!!!
She hasn't become mad queen. Her anger was toward Cersei and Red Keep and it was not madness at all. She flied with Drogon towards Red Keep to destroy Cersei and...suddenly disappears for the remaining 30 minutes. We see a flying dragon unleashes fire all over and NOT the dragon rider. In previous episodes and seasons, the dragon rider (Daenerys) commanded the dragon (Dracarys), but for 30 long minutes we just see a devastation without meaning. But after watching the episode 3 times, i realise the meaning. D & D just devastated KIngs Landing. Not mad queen and all these nonsenses, only them. And what for? Just to manipulate audience to hate Daenerys, which leads to the finale. They haven't the guts to show "mad" Daenerys ordering Drogon to unleash the flames, they just erase her character for the last 30 minutes, when fire devastating the city. And for those who hate Dany, just watch again and catch the whole point of view. A damn foolish writing/directing full of nonsenses that's all.
