First time I watched one of your videos. You definitely know what your doing out there. New sub. Looking forward to viewing more. I grew up in Stockton and know the deltas well. My favorite place to fish.
Editing, content, music and your fishing skills makes your videos great entertainment. The wind at BB is no joke, especially in a kayak. Love how you tricked out the outboard. You've got a lot of range. Too old for a kayak, but maybe I'll see you out there in my tin can.. keep up the good work!!
Great video Rob! It captured the highs and lows of a typical day on the Delta. All the while you kept your solid attitude. I couldn't detect any editing out of naughty words that I would have been using dealing with the motor issue. Look forward to the next👍 Nice 7lber.
Hey Kieth...thanks!! I ate a lot of soap as a kid, so all the naughty words have been conditioned out of me. But trust me, it was a tough day mentally.
Dude what kind of motor is that?is it modified for the Kayak? Or a special mount? I NEED THAT! lol what mph? Great contact! Nice tank on the punch......I love how easy you make it look. Haven't been out of Big Break in ages..Forgot how much vegetation is out there..
Hey Richard. It is a 4hp 2 stroke. My kayak was designed with a transom mount. Nucanoe Unlimited. I broke 10mph but usually get 9-9.5 with current. I know they sell transom mounts you can put on kayaks but how big of an engine it will support will depend on your kayak. Thanks for watching!!!
I am currently a bank angler looking to start kayak fishing. I was wondering if you could tell me what length rod you would recommend for punching from a kayak?
Hi Carl. I would recommend at least a 7'4" rod. You really need the leverage, not only to fight and pull fish out of weeds, but to work a 1.5oz bullet weight through the cover effectively. I would recommend a Lew's custom speed stick 7'4" Heavy Action, Fast Tip, that is rated for baits up to 2oz....but any rod with similar action and rating should work fine. Thanks for watching!!!
lol...I know how that can bother some people. Fish don't seem to mind. There really isn't much use for it being that long...but I like to leave a some cause braid does slip a little when you hook a monster.

what type of bait is that, works amazing.
Strike king rage bug. Thanks for watching!!!
Why do you wear thick gloves?
UV Protection. Most gloves are made from cheap polyester/spandex and don't actually block sun rays...these do. Thanks for watching!!!
Run 65lb braid so you can pull them out easier
That's what I'm using. That mat was thick. Don't usually try to horse them out...fun fishing. Thanks for watching!!!
What pole do you use?
For punching I use Lew's Custom Speedstick 7'4" Heavy Power Fast Action. Rated 1/2-2oz. Highly recommended. Thanks for watching!!!
This the delta river
The area is called Big Break....technically an estuary. Right off the San Juaquin River. Part of the the CA Delta system. Thanks for watching!!!
