Dread, the Mad Smith. Except unless you do what he did and spend a lot of money on a custom-made pair of gloves, or you just so happen to have hands that are the exact same size and shape as mr. Isotoner's hands gloves fitting perfectly is something you've never experienced.
You might not have ever experienced gloves that fit so finely either, after having no gloves ever to fit you at all. It's quite the experience, that, and enjoying the prospect of them being armored and that comfortable.
Custom made codpiece was definitely the most interesting custom made item I've ever had made. Getting measurements was memorable, as well as the date with the armorer after -- she was great!
In his war-time memoir "One of Our Submarines" the author Edward Young mentions having a bespoke Slide Rule made to facilitate his rapid calculation of ballast-tank trims.Seems there was no app for that in those days.
I imagine a bespoke tank ad simply being a normal tank but the interior is like the inside of an Edwardian era library. Imagine firing a cannon while sat in a wingback chair.
A Totally Ordinary Aubergine Also being properly secured during explosions and bumpy rides, while not constantly bumping your head and legs against walls and protrusions designed for a different person.
I like how excited you are about the gloves. It made me fetch my leather ones I bought in a random store in Finland. I made a lucky guess about my hand size and they fitted as well as yours do now. It's truly a fantastic feeling wearing gloves the size of your hand. 9/10 would recommend doing. Mine were 15 euros tho :D
yes, just a video of lindy being lindy in all his childlike wonder, for some reason i love his videos about hats, and his three identical pair of boots and diy shirts and woolen cape. even that little unclean pasta pot video. its just lindy
I can't begin to tell you how excited I am you made a video in regards to gloves! I have been trying to find a good place that could make me a personal set of gloves for both archery and the like and I hadn't been sure on what leather to go with. And the arduous turmoil of finding the right pair in a world of one style suits all that you describe with the basic gloves is quite easily the most accurate statement about those types of gloves and their lack of proper fitting
A good alternative if those wear out are Hatch shooting gloves. They are partially kevlar, but quite thin unlined leather on the underside. You can get them slightly undersized, and they will stretch to give a great fit. I used them in the Army, and they were leagues better than any other pair I owned in terms of balancing dexterity with full coverage and flame resistance. Really great for handling machine guns, even better for attaching armour to.
Congrats on getting something you really enjoy to enjoy. I have seen people spend six times that price on a pair of gloves from a couture design name, when I looked at them the stitching was sub-par and the label said they were not made in Italy if you catch my drift. We live our lives in off the peg clothing it is sometimes a revelation to have something made to your own specification and then have the opportunity to compare the difference.
The most odd thing I have had made bespoke... I'm on a waiting list for a homburg hat. Well done on getting the gloves, I was going to ask if they had quirks in them but then you showed them at the end.
Light kid skin welding gloves have always been my go-to for gauntlets. They're thin, unlined, typically well-fitting and relatively inexpensive. If you should need to replace the gloves at some point, consider them. :)
I never thought out of all the various things I've seen Lloyd enthuse about over the years, they would all be clearly beating out in genuine enthusiasm by *gloves that fit*.
I have a friend who cut off the end of one of his fingers, so a bespoke-made lightswitch would actually make sense for him. But the best thing to be made bespoken would have to be something completely unthought of, such as a window or even curtains! By which I mean a window like that person who got her windshield made to her glasses prescription.
Eventually, when you work in a leather shop, you stop noticing the scent. It’s unfortunate but true; I know it from personal experience. Though you still keep the fun “Christmas morning” feeling when a new style of hide comes in.
The oddest thing to have bespoke? a few ideas: a nose-mit / an ear mit (they make those out of softer materials already) a monocle frame (perhaps to make it feel better on the eye-rim) a doorknob cover. because those exist too, actually: key covers.
i never thought of really doing patreon because i watch your videos kind of haphazardly (but eventually) but those gloves are so satisfying that if i had to pay to watch that armor series, i would. they're just that good. if you get a lovely set of armor up, can i give a single, cash price for being able to see that? like one month with a high donation, hell, im going to, you longhanded freak
@ben wilkins; A triple faced helmet similar to the one worn by the Lord Marshal, leader of the Necromongers (see Chronicles of Riddick) they will either kill or convert you till Underverse come! See:- www.ebay.com/cln/2goldchoins/movie-replica/72201324011 for the necessary specs.
This is my guess: www.chesterjefferies.co.uk/sizes-bespoke/ It's a fairly fancy one, that delivers the services in the way Lloyd talked about them, asking for the same measurements and such.
Everyone in comments asking about the gloves, here in Australia I’m asking if I’d been able to pass off boxers as shorts because it’s just too darn hot for clothes.
I recently got a pair of Gothic style gauntlets of my own! Sadly, I don't have the money to get a pair custom fitted for me at the moment, so they're "off the shelf" armour (the sort of thing that would have been bought, usually second-hand, by men-at-arms or less wealthy soldiers) and while they do still fit me and are perfectly usable, they're a smidge bigger than I'd perhaps like them to be. I'm interested to see how yours turn out, as I suspect they'll be very beautiful to look at and probably feel wonderful to wear! I can say ahead of time that while my gauntlets aren't _uncomfortable,_ per' say, they could be _more_ comfortable.
I got a “bespoke” set of pistons made for my BMW R50/2 :) There were no replacement pistons available at the time and I wanted them to have the same geometry as the old ones so I got some made for 440€ in 2007 :) Forged aluminium pistons modelled after aftermarket hit compressions pistons available at the time :)
an added plus with the seams being on the outside, they (the stitching) won't rub your hands/fingers raw while wearing them for any length of time...like crusading
I'd say the oddest thing to have made bespoke would be underwear. The coolest thing would be socks. The only thing I've commissioned, though, is a stylized topography & bathometery map of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Excellent, now we need a series on your padded cap for helmet, arming doublet and mail for armour, underwear for your doublet, belts and buckles, all separate videos. Oh, you will need a squire and pages too, and servants. Now, where do you buy that?
I´ve had my bagpipes made bespoke for me. Larger sack and longer blow-pipe to accomodate my hight, colors of the wood and the leather to fit the colors of my Reenactment/Larp group, and tonal trimming so I could play both c major and d minor.
outstanding! I need gloves like this too. I only buy fingerless gloves because I have problems getting a good fit on my fingers. Not meant as a rude joke Lindybeige. Kudos
I have the same problem finding gloves that fit properly. I seem to also have an unusual thumb-from-index-finger measurement. Although I suspect the key thing is the length from the tip of the index finger to the base of the thumb, at least in my case. I also have very wide hands. And thick fingers. Anyway, for some of us, the expression “Fits like a glove” means the opposite of what it is supposed to.
Fine gloves abound, Lloyd! ^_^ But that sting at the end? 'I'd like a bespoke tank'? Come on, Lloyd, what human being with a pulse wouldn't? ^_~ Cheers!
Race cars often have bespoke seats, especially open cars like Formula 1. This reminds me of the first time I tried my custom-fit in-ear monitors, made from impressions of my ear. Normal in-ear headphones have never fit very well into my ears, but the custom-fit ones fit my ear... well, like a (bespoke) glove :)
Not usually on a High Street, an industrial lane? but go into a welding supply shop. Not thru mail order, you must go in and try on the whole rack of 'TIG' welding split leather gloves. Needed as well fitting tools, so not made as 'one size fits all'. so you need to go thru the whole lot and find a left and right that fit as tailor made. And they won't break the bank.
Leather smell and New Car smell. Two great smells that people might take a job for. I might also add two-stoke dirt bike smoke smell, but it also reminds me of my days as a kid growing up. The first two items have sprays scented to replicate them, and the third, believe it or not, you can buy a candle that replicates that scent. So, others like it as well.
A good pair of gloves is worth spending money for and these look great. My most odd bespoke item is a LARP pickaxe that fit my dwarfish size and is good for bashing.
Gloves that fit, like shoes that properly fit, are *wonderful*. And I'm of the opinion that a bespoke stove would be pretty cool. Bespoke toothbrush, however, would just be weird.
They fit like themselves.
"Like a glove" clever bloke :)
Dread, the Mad Smith. Except unless you do what he did and spend a lot of money on a custom-made pair of gloves, or you just so happen to have hands that are the exact same size and shape as mr. Isotoner's hands gloves fitting perfectly is something you've never experienced.
Llllllllllliiiiiiiiiike a glove!
Of course they do, if they didn’t fit, he would acquit.
Aye, they seem indeed to be a lovely pair of hand condoms!
I've never seen someone so happy about a pair of gloves
Chase Adams well you’ve never seen someone achieving the dream of acquiring a suit of metal armor in a televised way.
Bespoke tailoring is generally more exciting than just picking up clothes at a shop.
It is a fine pair of gloves though
Nah but just from the first few seconds he showed them off, I was thinking 'damn those are some nice slender gloves'.
You might not have ever experienced gloves that fit so finely either, after having no gloves ever to fit you at all. It's quite the experience, that, and enjoying the prospect of them being armored and that comfortable.
I like how he asked his patrons what he should do with their money. Shows how much sense and consideration he has. :)
It's two in the morning. I have class at eight. A man has just made a video about a pair of gloves he bought. I know where my priorities lay.
same
What the fuck me too
GenericFakeName gotta wake up at 7 am , it’s 5 am and lindybiege and last week tonight post a video.
i decided to be late and walk over a mile in a half.
That sounds almost poetic.
It makes me happy to see someone so excited about the little things
£85 doesn't seem bad when they're so nice and...fit like a glove...
Yeah, I was expecting him to say they were a LOT more expensive.
Yeah, I was gonna say the same thing. Expensive bespoke deerskin gloves... I was expecting several hundred pounds.
rim shot
To be fair they're unlined so I can see it quickly doubling when you want them lined so they are more functional than just for fashion sake.
Gloves of +2 dexterity...
The end of every pinky on every glove I've ever worn has been like a limp old man's nipple in the wind.
i wonder how large the population of mutant big pinky people is, and demand that they stop ruining the pinky size average
Vehemently seconded!
Custom made codpiece was definitely the most interesting custom made item I've ever had made. Getting measurements was memorable, as well as the date with the armorer after -- she was great!
Two Lindybeige videos in a row? That’s amazing! I would love more short videos like this one updating us on the armor project
In his war-time memoir "One of Our Submarines" the author Edward Young mentions having a bespoke Slide Rule made to facilitate his rapid calculation of ballast-tank trims.Seems there was no app for that in those days.
SlideRulePirate Presumably bespoke to the measurements of said boat, rather than said captain. Which is not that unusual, really.

Mine were 15 euros tho :D
They’re gorgeous! I’m with you on wanting them for everyday use. It’s little things like that which bring joy to the daily grind.
Glad to see an easily consumable video size released - one I can definitely watch without planning out my time.
yes, just a video of lindy being lindy in all his childlike wonder, for some reason i love his videos about hats, and his three identical pair of boots and diy shirts and woolen cape. even that little unclean pasta pot video. its just lindy
Love your enthusiasm. Keep making videos like that. It makes us happy to see you happy.
I can't begin to tell you how excited I am you made a video in regards to gloves! Lloyd should have a patreon goal for a second pair of bespoke gloves. For everyday use.
For a classy chap like Lloyd, it's practically mandatory.
Where can i get some of those bad bois mr beige
asking the real questions!
Don't mind me. I'm leaving a comment here to get notified if you get an answer
Exactly what I was about to ask
I'm curious as well.
PAvel Solochiny yes
Lloyd is touching himself
It's technically impossible to not touch yourself, you're always constantly touching yourself, hell, you're doing it right now! You filthy nutter.
And he seemed so happy in doing it
Peppo how did you know I am right now D: are you a wizard?
Damn you, Lloyd, you have just created me a need I didn't knew I had. I was so happy when discovered that the 9,5 glove size exists...
Congrats on getting something you really enjoy to enjoy.
I have seen people spend six times that price on a pair of gloves from a couture design name, when I looked at them the stitching was sub-par and the label said they were not made in Italy if you catch my drift.

Only Lloyd can make an entertaining video about gloves....and I watched it
I never thought out of all the various things I've seen Lloyd enthuse about over the years, they would all be clearly beating out in genuine enthusiasm by *gloves that fit*.
Make a video about the great library of Alexandria! Please and thanks, I love your channel keep up the great work!
jake johansen The one before or the one after the medieval period?
You fill my head with bizarre information. Thanks!
Oh isn’t it just so charming when he’s genuinely excited about a thing? I just love it. 😊
i love how excited he gets hes almost out of breath talking about his gloves
This is the quality glove videos i subscribed for! XD Congrats on the gloves!
Oh your look at the end was just golden!
Two videos in one week? I like it!
Through this video I learned the word bespoke.
Thank you and nice gloves :)
Lol that emotion and body language at the end is great
Those are very beautiful looking gloves. good one Lloyd
I make accessory for fun.
And the look on your face make me remember why i still do it.
Tkx
I have a friend who cut off the end of one of his fingers, so a bespoke-made lightswitch would actually make sense for him.

By which I mean a window like that person who got her windshield made to her glasses prescription.
If he just would cut off the end of all his fingers, maybe he could then buy gloves that actually fit-
Custom windows aren't that weird, nor are crutains.
How about a bespoke codpiece?
Bespoke dental floss?
Matt, no, it was an incident with a lawnmower, it cut his middle finger off at the last knuckle and the tips off the two surrounding fingers.
Eventually, when you work in a leather shop, you stop noticing the scent. It’s unfortunate but true; I know it from personal experience. Though you still keep the fun “Christmas morning” feeling when a new style of hide comes in.
Speaking as a pattern maker, these gloves are just wonderful! I really wish I knew how they're made.Well, I guess it's research time for me again!
Those are pretty nice gloves. They tempt one to want a bespoke pair, even if they don't require gloves. They look so good.
Your voice puts me to sleep every night
Thank you sir
The oddest thing to have bespoke? a few ideas:
a nose-mit / an ear mit (they make those out of softer materials already)
a monocle frame (perhaps to make it feel better on the eye-rim)
a doorknob cover. because those exist too, actually: key covers.
You are so excited. It's fun to watch.
He is happy as a child at Christmas 1:37
:3
Well, he _is_ touching himself.
Great pair of gloves mate. Worthy of a Knight
I'm going to have to look into this at some point. Properly fitted gloves look pretty nice.
Look at that smile! Those must be some really nice gloves.
I'm so happy to see you so happy.
Grinning Lindy & the bespoke gloves. And they are even beige! Now go forth, and conquer France!
I have two bespoke bicycle wheels... Or would that be bespoked?
"What is the most odd thing to have made bespoke?" And then comes Mr. Lego with the answer: "Lindybeige!!!"
True. I have a pair of deerskin gloves that I've had to take the fingers in because they're too long. Really nice gloves.
Never seen a lad as excited about a pair of gloves before. Fair play to ya.
Good timing for a new lindyvid
i never thought of really doing patreon because i watch your videos kind of haphazardly (but eventually) but those gloves are so satisfying that if i had to pay to watch that armor series, i would. they're just that good. if you get a lovely set of armor up, can i give a single, cash price for being able to see that? like one month with a high donation, hell, im going to, you longhanded freak
A well fitting glove really feels amazing
Have you decided the helmet you are gonna go with yet?
I suspect sallet has no alternative with the type of armor he is going for.
he's going to get an armet. sallets are more protective but you can't either breathe or see in them.
Jules Woodbury He also just isn't much of a fan of them
i think hes probably going to get a Maximilian helmet
@ben wilkins; A triple faced helmet similar to the one worn by the Lord Marshal, leader of the Necromongers (see Chronicles of Riddick) they will either kill or convert you till Underverse come!
See:- www.ebay.com/cln/2goldchoins/movie-replica/72201324011 for the necessary specs.
Bespoke rifle barrel and muzzle brake. Stainless steel match grade barrel, 24”, 1:10 twist, .30-06, 1” OD at muzzle, and a KDF muzzle brake for it.
Looking sharp, Lloyd.
Who was the glove maker? I’d happily pay top dollar to get some damn decent gloves again.
Yeah, I'm seconding this question. I'd gladly pay around £80 - £90 for a pair of gloves that fit correctly for once.
same
This is my guess: www.chesterjefferies.co.uk/sizes-bespoke/ It's a fairly fancy one, that delivers the services in the way Lloyd talked about them, asking for the same measurements and such.
Peppo Thanks mate! I’ll give these a look!
Everyone in comments asking about the gloves, here in Australia I’m asking if I’d been able to pass off boxers as shorts because it’s just too darn hot for clothes.
Lingybeige: "look at the armor I'm buying with the money you all gave me!"
Everyone else: "We know! It's so cool!"
i love the childlike enthusiasm at ca.1:55 :-)
I cannot wait to see the final product! Makes me jealous, but at least somebody will get some sweet gothic plate.
I think a dog bandana made from an animal the dog killed would be one of the oddest things. Maybe a cat bowtie made of many tiny mice skins.
2 lindy video's in 1 week,WOW
I cant wait to see your full suit when its done.
I got a “bespoke” set of pistons made for my BMW R50/2 :)
There were no replacement pistons available at the time and I wanted them to have the same geometry as the old ones so I got some made for 440€ in 2007 :)
Forged aluminium pistons modelled after aftermarket hit compressions pistons available at the time :)
an added plus with the seams being on the outside, they (the stitching) won't rub your hands/fingers raw while wearing them for any length of time...like crusading
Another beige video? It's like Christmas!
Well now we know how to excite Lindy lmao
I've never seen someone so excited about gloves.
"Ahaha! Like a glove" Ace Ventura . so good..
That looks like a really nice pair of gloves
Aaaand I'm browsing the web for bespoke gloves. Just another thing I never knew I wanted.
The armourer must have smiled at least a little when he finally saw propper leather gloves being sent to him for gauntlets ahahah
Anyway, for some of us, the expression “Fits like a glove” means the opposite of what it is supposed to.
damn son...so you really have to be hands on to get good glove eh
A bespoke car seat sounds fantastic, actually. I can never quite get the right lumbar support worked out
Those gloves look so nice
very cool looking gloves man :)
Fine gloves abound, Lloyd! ^_^ But that sting at the end? 'I'd like a bespoke tank'? Come on, Lloyd, what human being with a pulse wouldn't? ^_~ Cheers!
2 clips in two days,I'm tickled beige
Lol Lindybeige once you get all this armor you will BE a bespoke tank.
can you link to the glove maker please
Race cars often have bespoke seats, especially open cars like Formula 1. They actually fill a bag with foam pellets and glue, stuff it and the driver into the car, then laser-scan everything and cut it to shape. The seat, not the driver. Why people always forget to include links to the companies that make stuff like these. Some of us might be interested to get such gloves.
Please provide links/contacts to the makes.
Because I'm making a point about gloves, not producing an advert for a particular glove company.
If they did a great job, they deserve the advertisement.
Yeah but I'm pretty curious. Those look great and my birthday is soon approaching.
I legitimately am impressed by those gloves
This reminds me of the first time I tried my custom-fit in-ear monitors, made from impressions of my ear. Normal in-ear headphones have never fit very well into my ears, but the custom-fit ones fit my ear... well, like a (bespoke) glove :)
Not usually on a High Street, an industrial lane? but go into a welding supply shop. Not thru mail order, you must go in and try on the whole rack of 'TIG' welding split leather gloves.
