I change colors regularly but in the same pot. Sometimes there is a bit of contamination in the bottom from the previous color, but I plan for that and don't go from cobalt to clear, instead I go from cobalt to dark turquoise to light turquoise to green to light green to clear, if you see what I mean.
Its amazing to see how many ways there are to make a certain item within the glassblowing community!

water keeps the wood wet so it doesn't burn.
