Is the fact that our brain creates the perfect, most simple version of an image the reason that our drawings turn out worse than what we thought about?
I think a better description of Yaldabaoth isn't that he is /evil/ so much as he is flawed. He is unable to create a perfect world like the world of light and idea because he himself is flawed. But because he is unable to percieve the world of light he doesn't know he is imperfect
I just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work and effort you obviously put into these videos. The world of homestuck is really interesting and it's great to see someone going in depth about the philosophy in such a succinct and well researched manner. You really deserve more veiwers.
I've been wanting to learn about the way homestuck as a game works, so this is great! I don't think I'm alone when I say I kinda tuned out a bit back when I read the comic... lol... As always, your videos are well-worded and interesting!
Yaaaay, thank you for the fix! The voice was only coming out of the headphone that was broken for me, so I was in quite a bind. :3 Aaaah, these videos are so great.
Oh my gosh, yes. I love how in depth you're going into this. These videos put into words so many things that I wish I'd seen or thought about. I feel like I'm learning so much, and about something I thought already that I'd understood to a somewhat decent degree. I This is making me think, and I love it. ^~^ Oh my gosh, I would love to talk about stuff like this every now and then. Do you have a Discord or other social media that you could talk with fans on? Even if it's nothing but bouncing ideas around, or relaying theories, it sounds like a lot of fun.
:D I'm glad you're enjoyin it so much! Yeah, I'm accessible on a bunch of places besides UA-cam--I've got a private Discord server accessible to patrons, I mod the r/Hiveswap subreddit and accompanying Discord, and you can find me on Tumblr and Twitter pretty often, too. You can find links to all those places in the description, and there's a link to join the r/Hiveswap Discord in the subreddit, too. Bottom left Chat bubble!
Oh man, if I had the munnies to put into joining your patreon, I'd be right on there. (Speaking of which, I need to start finding a way to get money for Hiveswap. ^^; ) I think I'm part of the Hiveswap discord, too. :3 Sweeeet, I'll check around and see what I can find~ And thanks again for continuing this series. It adds a lot of interesting ideas to this deceptively simple part of the comic/game. A lot of people don't like the first few acts, and say they're boring and pointless, but I always loved how it basically taught you the basics of the whole ingame world. It was a tutorial of sorts. Captchalogue-ing, worldbuilding, it taught you everything you needed to know, to proceed. Oh man, I love this story, and I keep finding more to love. So thanks for that, too. xD
Hey! I discovered this channel yesterday and i really like that you're doing here dude! I think your ideas are great and it makes me happy to see that there are still people out there thinking deeply about homestuck stuff. Keep up the good work :>
Audio is very much improved! Still a bit quieter than the average youtube video, but not to a great degree and definitely very audible. Keep up the good work!
i cant believe i didnt watch these videos earlier, you're so cool!! i love the way you explain all of this, youre definitely a seer hehe ^_^ i dont know if youre still active on this channel, but i hope youre doing ok in life, i wish you the best!!!
I swear u are slowly making me want to make a homestuck fan comic. Your giving me everything I need. Showing me all the steps. But I'm wondering, should I just do it?
Technically the story of eden doesn’t actually explain why we culturally consider an apple to be the common denominator of a fruit. The fruit from the tree of knowledge was never actually called an apple, or even described as such. It’s only ever described as a fruit. For all we know the fruit of knowledge could be ANY fruit that comes from a tree. Or even a fruit that doesn’t actually exist on earth at all, given that presumably eden is located heaven. This is just semantics tho, what probably happened is one guy painted it as an apple and other artists followed his lead until suddenly every visual representation of the story features an apple. So TECHNICALLY we associate apples as the common fruit because a bunch of old dead painters picked it. We totally could’ve associated oranges or something if they painted something else.
Really enjoying the video series, though I can't lie, I'm getting a little impatient because all of this is conceptual and I still have no idea about the actual plot. I'm going to stick it out and maybe read the wiki summary page, though. Heh. One small note, I believe you're pronouncing 'sub-variant' incorrectly, unless it's a dialect I'm unfamiliar with. If so, I apologize, but I've always heard it as 'sub-VAIR-ee-ant' rather than 'sub-vah-RYE-ant.' That being said, the concepts are explained fairly well and I've not been lost yet. I'm also liking the mini-crash-courses on various subjects as they're covered. The outros or out-phrases are getting pretty good, too. Suitably dramatic and informative while not feeling pretentious.
"Isn't wasting resources like this kind of self indulgent?" they take grist from the planet to make the universe, and grist from the imps for alchemy. they literally said they were using the planet's horde
hey sorry to comment on a five-year old video with a comment others might've said or you might address in literally the next video (also made five years ago) but you say in this video that we think of apples as the default fruit BECAUSE of genesis, but isn't it the other way around? genesis never mentions an apple, it just mentions a fruit and iirc was a fig (my memory is hazy cuz that all happened a while ago). didn't europeans start representing it as an apple because they already thought of apples as a default fruit of sorts?
Sburb creates itself. It is literally the reproductive system of existence itself. Unless you mean "who takes that code and decides to make it physical?" In which case, I can't answer. Well beyond the fact that the game sessions we know of were made physical coded by Jake Harley, Sollux, Her Imperious Condescension, and Meenah.
"Isn't wasting resources on fashion when you're creating a new universe kind of childish and arrogant?"
Yeah they're 13, they're literal children

there are too few people making videos on this subject, keep it up.
Thanks a ton! The next video has been a ride to get out, but it'll be published by the end of the week. Stay tuned, and keep rising! :)

Heck yes, I love these videos. Definitely keep them up!
I definitely intend to! :)

Aaa jeez I'm glad I fixed it fast then! Hope you like it! :D

love the caring you put in this minivideo series,
I just wanted to say that.
I'm just sad there was never a callback where someone combined a shoehorn and a potted plant to form an ultimate death ray.

I really like your work. You make very interesting theories and your videos a absolutely wonderful. Keep it coming :)
Loving your videos man, you're really good at it
Excited for the Classpect episode :v
think of a fruit:
"Orange"
Audio is very much improved! Still a bit quieter than the average youtube video, but not to a great degree and definitely very audible. Keep up the good work!
I enjoy your videos, very welled explained and fun to listen to. Keep up the good work.
Thanks i REALLY needed this.

oh and happy new year!! :3
or mage maybe lol
Are you a mage or seer of hope?
Anthony Olguin Mage
He sure is showing us hope for the fandom
I swear u are slowly making me want to make a homestuck fan comic. Your giving me everything I need. Showing me all the steps. But I'm wondering, should I just do it?
Definitely just do it! I'd be so excited to see :D
optimistic Duelist well. I guess I got work to do.

I think my favorite item made that is way to strong and never came back was the capcha camera

well you don't want to know too much about the actual plot and what actually happens because it takes some fun out of reading experience.
But I didn't think of an apple, I thought of an orange!
when i was told to think of a fruit i thought of a pear so
Thanks YEAH
I honestly always called i)(he ‘Al-ke-meter’
Lime is dead inside
"Isn't wasting resources like this kind of self indulgent?" they take grist from the planet to make the universe, and grist from the imps for alchemy. they literally said they were using the planet's horde
i thought of a lemon.

12/10
Clearly this guy hasn't come across fashion souls/fashion frame
No one knows how to make an apple tho
my question is who the hell makes a game like sburb
The code is already there in the frog temples, just some assholes decided to see what it did.
AH
