I absolutely adore the idea of *Papyrus* being one of the only two monsters to truly realize just how stupid the RPG rules of his own world are, the other one being Sans with his ''strongest attack first'' line, actually, these two being the only ones capable of breaking and bending the rules of their own game world just makes them even more awesome in my opinion. Papyrus plays fair because he's cool and likes giving people a chance, but here? he sees just how... stupid it'd be if he did, in OG Undertale, his kindness ends up being his down-fall, but here, it's his motivation to keep going, ALSO, the attack patterns, the puzzle intermission, the usage of the intense battle music, it all goes so well together that it makes this genuinely a really good take on what a genocide papyrus would be, also, i like the idea of this fight being an oppressive yet a progressive escalating one, you don't get a turn (Papyrus quite literally forbids you from having one) so you have to survive a constant onslaught of attacks with no time to heal, and you'd probably start from the beginning in-game, it'd be extremely unfair and probably real difficult, but (ignoring the fact that this is hard mode for a moment) it MAKES sense, Papyrus is not taking chances, he's trying to force you to BE kind, doing everything he can to protect you from the Genocide path, and it gives an extra layer of awesome, and more fuel to the fire of just how epic it'd be if Papyrus truly showed how powerful he was, AND there's the fact that this fight lacks any angst, it still has that blend of epic Papyrus humor, but his sprites, his demeanor, it all but points to one thing. That now, he's just getting a *little* bit serious.
This is actually so good I love how well you captured Papyrus' character and how sans is in the backround at the end it geniunely sent chills down my spine. Edit: I just realized both sans and Papyrus go against the rules outlined in the "dealing with a human" guide I love the attention to detail.

Honestly after all of these genocide boss fanmades I've realised how wasted was the potential of the genocide route. Only being carried by Undyne and Sans
That's the point. There is no missing potential because the genocide route is MEANT to be boring, and it's NOT meant be fun or enjoyable. Hell, it actively takes away content that you experience in the pacifist route. The game actively makes doing genocide tedious and annoying to stray you away from doing it.

I really do like how Sans shows up at 7:14 when the box goes up it feels like a very Sans thing to do to conveniently show up when the box is nearly entirely covering him from view
You know, I really like this. It really shows and approves the theory that Papyrus is holding back his full power and goes easy on human. This version just shows him using all his powers to capture the human and join the Royal Guard.
i can't begin to describe how amazing this is without sounding corny, but this genuinely felt like toby had a change of heart and finished hard mode from the perfectly goofy sprites, puzzle attacks, bending the rules just like his bro but not actually dodging, nah this is too perfect
I love the fact that Papyrus immediately knows that "standing still" and "turn-based combat to encourage fairness" is a dumb idea. Like even he knows that just standing around letting yourself take damage is stupid, Sans probably taught him that ideology.
This is really cool! The closest thing I've seen to puzzles being integrated into attacks were the mazes from the SOULS incident. Also, gods, this would feel so much worse emotionally than the canon fight (which was already a gut punch)
