I know I already made a comment asking for the beginning intro song, but I thought I had to say this. This is honestly the best representation of sans I have ever seen, especially for Deltarune. His sarcasm shows his small amount of angst, how he was genuinely happy shows that he isn't just hateful, and remembers everything
Now that I think about it, Undyne also smiles and shes considered a very difficult boss, same with Photoshop Flowey and Asriel. Its better to think that most characters that smile all the time know that something is off at least, or have a connection to timelines/gaster while characters that show other facial expressions do not.
